I bought S$76 for the starter kit with remote and 2 bulbs during Comex in Sept. Each additional bulb about S$20+...u can check during Sitex coming in 2 weeks time. You can focus on certain location group first if u don't want to change all in one go....I think the downlights u bought from lighting.com come with bulbs right?

You have the option to group your downlights into 4 groups and remote control them separately in their own group. Very easy to setup......

Thanks Matrox I think I just like unique designs..... -
I think Philips downlight is not just about buying brand although it sure looks nicer. The downlight uses E27 bulb which if there is a failure, very high chance that the bulb fails as there is no ballast. Also, the full reflective interior downlight is actually brighter than most downlight I have seen.Lastly, it accommodates the easyscene bulbs which I can remote on/off and dim.

Yo bro We don't talk about making money here ok.....it's purely for sharing lobangs..... My knowledge on lightings is really "pte ltd company". You can actually buy LED bulbs from Sophia or other Ailexpress vendors. My understanding is that u can get higher wattage for E27 holders. But not sure what connectors u will be using for your downlights, PLC or E27? I have installed a chandelier for my daughter’s room with 6 x E14 (10W) light holders and feel that the brightness is just ok....not very bright..... -
Yo Yaolong I bought the same downlights for my house too and installed them with Easyscene bulbs....cool man Looks like we are both Philips supporters.....

Yo Below is my recommendations....my approach is to look for at least 5 contractors/suppliers (sometime more than 20 e.g. furniture) before deciding on one U can try TBT. I have my grilles and wrought iron installed by them just last week. Price is good and their salesperson Andrew is a nice guy. I have PMed the contact to u liao..... As for my electrician BJ Electrical, I have known him for 8 over years and he is one of the most responsible guy I have met. I have PMed the contact as well but the only issue is that his schedule is very tight (sought after by many ID) so depends on your schedule..... good luck with your reno

Yo Can I ask if the granite cut-out is "glued" to the IKEA stool? If yes, how do you get it done? By your contractor? I have a couple of pieces of Quartz Silestone cut-out from my kitchen top which after using 2 as the base for the speakers, I still have another larger piece. Thanks.

Yo renotm Thanks for compliment Reno mostly done with another 2 weeks to go...... As for the handle, wholesale-faucet did send over a new handle as well as a cleaning solution. The cleaning solution actually solved the problem. All my faucets are up and working fine. As I've not move in yet and use them on a daily basis, so no comment on the quality. But if based on the installation, comment from the plumber, price I'm paying and their service, I will buy from them again for my next renovation. They even have a customer service answering your queries on-line everyday -

Robin from Mirage blinds called me today updating me on the honeycomb blind issue (he told me last week that the blind that we ordered has an issue). The original committed blind should come in 2 materials (one 60-70% light blockage and one 100% blackout) in a single blind which allowed us to play around with the material. The blind also allowed us to draw it top/down or bottom/up. With the blind suppose to be installed next Saturday, he told me that due to the usage of dual materials, it cannot be drawn bottom/up, only top down like normal blind. As we plan to allow light to come in from the top while having the blind open from middle to bottom for privacy at street level, the news is quite frustrating Understand that he over-committed and we will be moving in in 2 weeks time, he is asking us to put up the blind first while he checked if he could have the top material change to sheer, which will allow 80% light to pass thru. We are not really open to that suggestion as it might meant that he will be removing our blind again after it has been installed to make changes, with our furniture fully in placed. Robin will be contacting me again next week to discuss after he find out more on the details.......The only good thing about the whole issue is that he is not hiding from me but keep on calling me and updating me on the issue....offering options. -

For those who wanted to buy things from Piccolo House, it's time to do so as their year end sales has started. We went down to Piccolo House today to purchase a bed frame for my daughter today. We also went down to Ikea, thinking of buying another bed frame but found out that they have just amended their delivery and installation charges from 4th Nov. Now it's $55 for delivery (used to be $50 for $299 and below purchases and $55 for above) and 6% for installation with $30 as the minimum charge (used to be strictly 6%). Imagine if you are to buy a $99 table and request for delivery and installation, the overall charges will be $85 (almost the price of the table) -

My renovation is almost coming to an end after more than 1 and half month. Today TBT came to install grilles and wrought iron gate. We actually don't really like the grey grille design but have to adhere to the condo design requirement TBT installer was very kind to help us put up the Ikea blind that we bought at the yard window boring design TBT installer helps to put up the Ikea blind -
Yo Totally agree with Simon that Easyscene is the easiest to use bulb for remote on/off and dimmable. Only issue is that if u are using them in your downlights, note that it's fatter than normal E27 bulb so you have to pick the right type. I'm currently using Philips FBG302 for all downlights just to accomdate the easyscene bulbs.. As for the price, you might want to check out Sitex in end Nov. Not sure if the same exhibitor gonna be there (can't remember the name) but I bought my kit for $76 during Sept Comex show....

Yo babytan You are right regarding solid surface and even Corian will scratch and stain (also not cheap) So we decided to invest in the kitchen top this round and use Silestone instead. Like the fact that it's tough, non-porous and anti-bacteria nature. For my case, they used the cut-out of the sink to make the shelving.... We only uses solid surface for the mbr toilet vanity and bay windows this round. We don't really like woody feel so if you see any, most probably its original from the developer like wardrobe, door...... Share your new design once you have them ok -

Yo Simon Actually I have not installed or tested the 4 key RF controller or even asked the vendor when I purchased. Just want to get a brighter set of LED strip. Matrox bought 40m of strips and it came with the same controller (as long as the length u specific is more than 5m). Not sure if she has installed the strips and if yes, maybe can comment -

Yo babytan The quartz that your ID quoted u is very cheap...not sure what brand is that.... You can refer to my earlier post on why I chose Silestone. My previous kitchen top was Corian. The Bianco River Leather for my kitchen top is $240pfr and Naranja Cool for the vanity is $180pfr. Since I bought and pay directly to Silestone (ID not taking kick back), there was some kind of discount (not much) to the overall bill. As for the cut out, you have to inform Builders Shop on your requirement and they will quote u based on pfr (cutting cost) as well.Kitchen top Vanity top -

Yo Terence You know what....the toilet originally comes with a 35L water heater tank. We decided to change it to a new unit and consulted our ID and plumber on what to buy. They mentioned 15L since I will be having separate tank for each toilet. So we ahead to change the unit and currently the pressure seems to be fine. I think must wait till I move in and use it frequently to know if it's sufficient. Btw, my plumber did went up to test the pressure to confirm that it's sufficient but not sure what tools he was using..... -
