  1. Yo The battery is 23A, 12v. U can get it at many places...the one that is much shorter than a AAA
  2. If you require bottom/up feature and heat insulating then the honeycomb is a must buy as the pocket of air trapped in the honeycomb will act as insulator to heat as well (that's what I leant from some US website). Actually thought of going for Hun... Dou..... but find it too expensive (almost 2x+ the price). Then almost confirmed my order from US site Blinds.com but found Mirage Blinds locally. Well, I find that they are new to honeycomb too and thus all the over-committment made which they cannot deliver I thinnk after me they should be better.....I hope
  3. Yo Hafele is provided standard by my carpenter so the kitchen hinges uses them.... I actually bought the drawer systems (just the soft closing rail) from Excel HW and the carpenter customized the drawer based on our size requirements. As for the TV console, I provided them with the Samsung Irex hinge from Excel HW....
  4. Realize something interesting about the "Caboche" pandent light. It actually project a round shape like a moon on the wall when switched on. And when you switch the downlight instead, it will reflect a ring shape on the ceiling....
  5. Finally let's talk about the blind. Remember I said weeks back that Mirage Blinds cannot deliver the committed dual fabrics blind with top/down and bottom/up features. Well Robin insisted that I have the blind installed first before deciding if I will want to have the top layer remove. So I have them install the blind on Saturday. From the below pic you can see that the top layer only allows about 20-30% of light to pass thru and that's not what I want. I want more light to pass thru from the top when I bottom up the blind so that I have privacy at my bed height level and still allowing light to come into the house. In the end I have their guy to remove the top layer on-site.....and it took them almost 2 hours..... removing the top layer And finally the blind with one layer of black-out material, able to do top/down and bottom/up.....what we really want. Left blind combination of top/down and bottom/up, centre blind bottom/up and right blind top/down
  6. The length is actually longer than what we have in mind so have to make the best out of it Still say average joe.... It depends on the amount of work (number of switches, light points to install) u have for them. Also, do you have any special requirement for them e.g. for my case I have my electrician BJ came up on a separate trip to install the Eubiq track after the glass backsplash is up. All in all, BJ made 4 trips to my house (no cost adder, all based on the initial quote: 1) Work through the plan with my ID 2) To install downlights and switches after the false ceilings were completed 3) Install LED strips and pendant lights after the carpentry was done up 4) Install the new LED strips and Eubiq track, touching up edges with silicon
  7. Casa Italy delivered our long sofa on Saturday afternoon. The white full leather sofa is 3.8m+ long, stretches across my living room and leaving just enough space my the Cellini recliner. We actually have plan to have a small round coffee table between the sofa and the recliner but now have to decide only after looking at the space left with the recliner in (Cellini delivering the recliner on Wed).
  8. Yo Simon U sure knows quite a bit on lighting For my house, I have 25 Phillips downlights, cove lightings (T5 and LED strips) **** and mbr, LED strips at kitchen cabinet, TV console, pole wardrobe, "Caboche" pendant light at dinning, chandelier at br1, "hot air balloon" pendant light at br2, "crystal ball" ceiling lights at yard and bomb shelter. We love round lights....a little bit of the feng shui stuffs.
  9. Yo Matrox Understand that IKEA's hinge and drawer systems are OEM from BLUM...not sure about the price diff though. I'm using a mixture of Hafele and Excel HW throughout the house....
  10. After the washing machine, the gentleman from SP Services came to switch on the gas and connect the pipe to the hob. He actually arrived 1 hour before the appointment. Didn't know beforehand that he will remove the old meter and replace it with a new one, starting the reading from zero....interesting New meter starting the count up..... Connecting the pipe to the hob Done....
  11. Next was the arrival of the Sharp ESN80GSA top load washing machine. Choosing this model mainly because it came with a hole less drum that supposing protect the fabric as well as conserve water. Also it looks interesting with its rounded "belly"
  12. Don't forget to include the electrician installation cost....they charge per point too...... Go for it lah....add flavour to your room U too Simon.....don't think liao...go for it
  13. Yo Terence PM sent. As for the cost, it's not just any bomb...it's nuclear bomb
  14. Next will be the delivery of the Calligaris dinning table by XZQT. The table required 3 guys to carry up and fixed and indeed heavy. XZQT guys installing the dinning table 1.6m Extended - 2.2m
  15. Yesterday was a busy day for us. The painter and tiler turn up for the final touch-up, cleaner doing up the last bit of cleaning, Defu guys came up to put up the wallpapers, Mirage Blinds installing the blind and curtain, Singapore Power turning on the gas, delivery of dinning table by XZQT, washing machine by Courts and "long" sofa by Casa Italy........with the security guards calling us to lower the noise level as neighbors started to complain (no drilling and knocking after 12pm on a Saturday)...so annoying Let me start with the happier stuffs and leave the blind and curtain to the end...... We were really happy with the guys from Defu on the installation of the wallpapers. 2 guys came and they were professional thru the whole process, going thru the wallpaper design room by room to confirm before starting, laying out protective paper on the floor where they will be working on to protect my flooring, ensuring that the wallpaper patterns flow well with each roll that they put up and showing us as they were doing, cleaning up the area at the end and we were happy with the end results.aligning the patternsMBR Dinning area
  16. Yo Terence Can't PM u too.....full as well I bought the track from Eddy of ASL. Let me know when u cleared your mailbox and I will PM u the details...
  17. Old strip....still think that it's not bright enough lo
  18. Yo Terence The "silver thingy" is called Eubiq and u can get more information at http://www.eubiq.com/. The strip comes in various length based on your requirement and u can attached plugs, lights etc along the strip. The strip that I bought is 1m. As for the LED strip, I have the carpenter made a groove under the top cabinet to hide the strip in. I have the below photo taken with only the LED switched at night.....
  19. BJ installed the Eubiq strip (nicely done ) as well in the kitchen against the newly installed black glass backsplash.....looking at the reflection from the backsplash, now I can comb my hair while cooking instant noodle
  20. Added picture of the light cove in the bedroom.... both LED strips in the cove earlier photo of single strip
  21. Yo Soon...Soon...Soon...reno and furniture will be completed and delivered in the next 2 weeks....finally btw, I bought from Cellini Changi and CoCo is very helpful and did gave good pricing....
  22. I see.....I actually bought the Marrakesh bedframe and they looked similar Is your salesperson CoCo?
  23. My electrician (BJ) sent me the below photo after he installed the new LED strip that I have purchased. I have requested him to install the new strip together with the old one in the same trunking as I prefer it to be brighter. From the photo, you can easily tell that the lower LED strip is the new one as it's brighter. BJ told me that comparing them the new LED strip seems about 50% brighter than the old one.
