i think i've seen these crystallized glass panel top in classic kitchen before. but i was not sure if it was merely sandblasted glass or something else. it does look really pretty. but looks very 'fragile' too. imagine if u drop something heavy... *ouch*!! how is the resistence like? does it come in 1 single long piece for your entire top? but wah.. $180 pfr is a heafty price to pay for a kitchen top. but i'm sure it will look great! yes... plenty. juz to name a few.... tiles laminated postform stainless steel granite marble glass

okie..thanks. then i guess i dun feel that bad. i was quoted 1.3k! for living n dining..almost fainted. i always tot these false ceiling are cheap cheap niah. but your quote for 1-1.2K is include the lighting points or not? normally its not included one rite? hmm... i'm not sure leh.. depends on the area covered for your whole 3 rm flat lor. maybe it is about there since its the whole flat.
-
wah.. nice nice. is it mirror?? 7ft full height? the console doors also glass or laminates? (solly, can't really see from your picture) how much was this quoted for in your quotation?
-
i think toilet overlay is very common rite? well, i think it all boils down to workmanship, maybe a wee bit of luck too? i know friends who have revamp bathrooms only and after many yrs like no problem. hmm... anyways, i think its only the shower area that gets wet, since there is a curb there. very most if really goes popping, i'd juz have that part replaced lor. *cross my fingers* and hope that doesn't happen though.

oic... ok... didn't know old ceramic tiles gotta soak in water before laying. thats sounds really troublesome.
-
nobody knows where to find this thing?
-
hi applefreak n mace, okie... thanks...
-
OMG! that looks really bad and scary! was yours overlayed? were these hdb original tiles? this looks dangerous, if its hdb original tiles, even after 20 yrs they should be answerable for it?? so what actually caused it??? laminated overlay? shouldn't be any problem i think... i'd be doing that too. i'm overlaying my kitchen n toilets as well. we've checked and no hollow tiles, hopefully no problem like applefreak. but for my living and dining, i'd be hacking and relaying 600x600 tiles.

wow applefreak, your house really alot of rosewood. i like the cabinet with the flower 'air vents'... looks sweet. my parents house also got 1 set of rosewood in the living. they want to sell, coz gonna move out soon downgrade to smaller flat, no space. do u have any idea if there are any shops in singapore that take in 2nd hand rosewood furniture?

phoenix replied to Chunky Monkey's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
awww... what a cute childrens room! are these like wall decals? u got them from overseas or in singapore? great job on your new home, everything looks great! -
hello kongzkong, thank you for replying. yes, my hb also thinks we should change 'em, although i feel its quite wasteful if still working well. we're looking at the mitsu starmex or toshiba, non-inverter, system 3. anyone know roughly how much is a fair price? mitsu or tosiba is better?
-
hmm.. after 20 yrs is quite a long time. your hse telling u time for reno!! juz kidding.. so how did u deal with the problems of the tiles popping? i have no clue what popping actually means... is it like cement loosen then it juz comes out of the floor? or does it really pop and crack?
-
$1-1.2K is for whole house?
-
repost.. for mr chong. thanks.
-
hmm...was juz talking to my hubby. he mentioned that property mkt still 'hot' and its projected to increase another 10% this yr. try to read sat papers and call up to enquire about other estates, get a feel of what other estates asking for. but wow, if yishun can call for 35K, then other more popular estates i can't imagine how much cov will be.
-
if u can cough out this type of cov amt, u can get better areas... high floor, also near mrt. 8th floor is not even considered high floor also. has it been upgraded before? lift level? i think your agent playing 'bluff' with you. but then again, hard to be sure. maybe the owner lucky really got offer for 32K.. but i seriously doubt it. unless its been renovated like designer decor, then maybe.

hi, sorry... side track a bit. can i know where is AllBest located? thanks! i'm not sure if i should change my aircons or not. the aircons are about 5 yrs old, but ex owner says they're all working fine. kinda wasted to just change if still working fine. should i just change fan coils? i read that i can change those is it? or better to just change the whole thing? really confused... helpppp!!
-
hi chunky monkey, i meant 3 inches. hmm... 6cm is abt 2.5 inches. $135 pfr u mean? LG or Corian? which colour did you choose? i know that their range has different pricing range for different 'model'... i think its the colour range that differs...the grains or something like that. hey, your classic cabinets all done up? post a picture leh...wanna see the final pdt!
-
my parents place is using the cotto brand. seems alright after several yrs, but the seat like a bit shaky. my contractor is quoting me a baron brand. not sure if its good or not, but is a 'made in china' i think. he claims its good! (well then again, which man will say the pdt he providing not good. ).. comes with soft closing too.

whats your current tile size? fr what i understand, if u overlay over big big tiles like 600x600 or 800x800, then its not advisable. chances of popping is higher. if flat is new, less then 8 yrs and tiles size are smaller 300x300..overlay should be ok. (as advised by several contractors & id). actually a bulk of the reno money is spent on flooring. and its not sometime u wanna do every few yrs once i think more advisable to hack and lay if your current tile size are big ones...thats what i keep telling myself, just pain ONE time! (ouch! ). if not nextime might have problems, thats even worse!

hi yang guo, yep, i thought so too... makes sense, makes sense. did u do false ceiling? how much were u quoted?
-
