  1. Lol..cheeky bugger, he seems to be having fun at your expenses.
  2. Ok, let me explain something here. Formica is a brand of laminate, to be exact it's high pressure laminate aka hpl. There was a time long ago, when Formica was THE LAMINATE, being the most popular brand here, hence the Chinese-speaking carpenters call all laminates as Formica. I have to agree that it is not possible to removed laminate without damaging the panel, and it does not make sense (or dollars), as it will be cheaper to laminate a new panel. I think some people here could have been mislead by the photo on another thread which shows the "laminate" edge of a cabinet carcass being removed. I believes that was not a laminate strip, but instead a "pvc edging", which would explain the ease in being removed.
  3. That's not the issue. The challenge is how to support the tank in an aesthetic manner. For the tank, you can custom it to your dimension with 6mm or 8mm glass. The bigger the tank, the heavier it is; 1 litre of water is @1 kg. Also before you decides on the dimension, go to a well-stocked aquarium shop to check on the available equipments; internal filter, lights. You may want to visit the local aquatic forums for more ideas.
  4. DIY Quite simple really if you understand the basics of fish-keeping.
  5. My take, Higer income ceiling means more people going for BTO, so the recent announcement to increase supply of new flats was probably to cater to this segment. Demand of resale, and cov will be affected for the very short term only, very much a knee-jerk reaction. Considering the hundreds of thousands FTs who will be granted resident status during these couple of years, resale flats will continue to be in high demand, and cov will continue to break new highs.
  6. Looking at this post and an earlier one http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32589&st=40 it is quite obvious that this man is brazenly conning people at the expo all the time! He must have the knack for picking losers, for if it was me I would have gone to look for him at the expo and punch his head off.
  7. I got this lockset 18 years ago http://www.serme.it/en/catalogo/scheda/261/premiapri-nova/ Still in perfect conditions! Don't see it here anymore

?? What happened? You waited so long for your rugs, and now you wants to sell them?
  11. A light sanding of the surface, and any paint for wood is ok. For edges, you will need to smooth out with filler and than sanded, before painting.
  12. Thanks, was there last week and still looking around.
  13. Sorry, dunno about wall, but $900 for 2 toilet floors.
  14. 'Resilient floor' = vinyl floor Pros - waterproof, no expansion joints Cons - bad for health as it outgas throughout it's lifetime, possible cause of cancer, birth defect, etc
  15. Those shaggy types, size 5'x 8'. Where can I find a wide choice, and price below $400. Thanks in advance.
  16. I have over the years bought the occasional piece of furniture from them, for my home and offices, and finds them OK.
  17. For those who are looking for Blum equivalent, Hettich and Grass are also world-class brands: http://www.hettich.com/sg/aboutus.htm http://www.grass.at/vertriebspartner-grass-asien.html?&L=1 Do some apple to apple comparison.
  18. Faith Coat looks good for my 18years old flat which I intends to sell before I gets my new flat in 2015. Spoke to the uncle at the expo whose name is Frankie, and the quote is affordable.
  19. You invested your money there, so you deserves to get the best returns. Anyway, with the income ceilings raised, I am expecting an increase in demand for both new and resale flats, so also higher cov (just like coe).
  20. Depends on what you are looking for. If it is hinges, drawer box, drawer slides etc, you can compare with brands like Hettich or Grass. Cheaper alternatives, but not the same quality of course, go to Thye Seng Hardware, Ewin, or Shanghai Tong Lee for Italian made.
  21. I am so glad to have a selection date this month. The numbers chasing after flats will certainly be overwhelming with these revisions.
