  1. My plumber informed that the Grohe rainshower set is too long Why didn't I check before buying it during the sale? He is advising me to place it on left the side of the shower faucet instead in the middle due to space constraint. They are unable to shift the pipes coz they are concealed behind the walls, otherwise will go with thw option to lower the faucet in order to place the trainshower set in the centralised position. Sigh! For those of you doing reno, remember to check before buying rain shower. Lesson learnt!
  2. Kitchen sink & tap is up. Nothing fanciful compared to some of the T-bloggers Gas heater piping is up. Pretty satisfied as the plumber managed to conceal the pipes compared to the initial discussion with my contractor. She informed that the pipes will run like MRT track from common toilet to Master bedroom toilet Common toilet vanity, sink and tap Master bedroom toilet vanity, sink and tap Keeping it simple, white and clean. Sink is quite similar except the master bedroom sink is much bigger. ID wanted to fix 2 taps. Taking into the cost of the tap, it is a cheaper option to install 1 tap
  3. I am not sure where to get those 3D subway tiles. I happened to see them at a couple of location and really make me drool. Anyway, my tiles are already up before I chanced on the 3D subway tiles. The tiles are from Hafary coz I saw the invoice from a small box of leftover tiles in the bomb shelter. There are bigger and larger subway tiles. Perhaps it will be nicer unless the tiler is really good. Mine is only so-so, some of the tiles are slightly chipped off after the tiler cut them.
  4. Sorry for the lack of pictures due to renovation inactivity Contractor has arranged for the installation of fan and lighting for the living room, sinks and taps for both toilets as well as fixing up the installation of our Bosch built in oven. 2 of the mirror panels have been replaced and looking good (1) Mr Blackie Windy aka Haiku Fan (2) Old school dining light and new mirror in place (3) Entrance to main door light is up Shall continue with more pictures tomorrow
  5. Wow... 5-10kg of plates, must be very Wifey is practical type, even showed her the very pretty plates, saucers and cups... Turned to me & asked "Do we really need them?" In the end, we just window shop. How was Hawaii Five O? I didnt manage to go there coz we were short of time. There are a few other similiar shops in the vincinty.
  6. Hi eekenji, Thanks for dropping by... Many of the T-bloggers are using subway tiles for their kitchen backsplash as well. Recently, I saw those 3D types of subway tiles that "pop out" and even has black colour! Hi Nexer, It is from a relative recommendation and was quoted less than $1k. Hi orangecrab, Thanks for dropping by and liking the subway tiles
  7. I wanted to install the barber light but it does not match my overall theme so I gave it up. Is it brand new? Cool barber chair you have.
  8. Your reno seeneed to be in the final phrase & it is looking good...
  9. I managed to get a table lamp at Paragon but didn't manage to get a standing lamp coz the shipping is really quite expensive. You can go to Hawaii Five-O at 34 Ekamai 21, Sukhumvit Road or Asiatique It is like a night market aka Suan Lum Hope you find some treasure in BKK
  10. Sub con came to check the mirror & was advised that the "wet" cement has interacted with the morror to produce the black unsightly patches. He has already pasted a protective layer behind the miror but the joint part was without the protection laye, resulting in the black patches. He already settled the new mirror at my living room today. Contractor also came up to my house settle the rest of the renovation, mainly my lightings and toilets accessories to be fixed up this Wed. Pending for my furniture to be in by end of the month.
  11. ID went back to check the house and to discuss on the remaining work to be done. He pointed out that the full length mirror at the top joint, there is some black colour mark. Will be meeting up the sub con to settle this. Hopefully, can replace the whole mirror panel. Luckily have not settle the payment yet, still got negotiation power.
  12. More updates.... Dining area mirror + backsplash for kitchen area is up as well Full length mirror Three pieces of the mirror :dancingqueen: Backsplash - We were advised to use the more sturdy material since the price difference is less than $50 Pending for electrical socket to be fixed up. That explains why the bunch of wires is left hanging. Need the carpenter to fix the LED area coz there is no laminates protecting the area, just the raw wood being exposed :curse:
  13. Kitchen area is really small but we don't really cook so it is okay. I know what you mean of the older generation flats, so much bigger area
  14. I guess that there will always be some minor hiccup during renovation... Just be positive
  15. Thanks, petalfruit for dropping by... We really took our own sweet time to renovate the house. Still in process of getting our dining light.
  16. It has been awhile since my last update. Both toilets tempered glass doors are up! Love the siding door for the common toilet, smooth and slick but the space area is really quite small. Shiny metal frame and concealed lighting up as well. Minimum effort to slide open the doors. Master bedroom tempered glass toilet is up too. This is the swing in type. Need to get a stopper to stop my toilet wooden door from slamming into the tempered glass panel. Metal handle for hanging our towels
  17. I have not been updating my blog since nothing much has been done. Service yard window installation has been fixed up on 6 July after meeting up with Mr Ang who has provided good service. He has fixed an appointment at 3 pm and gotten my contractor to liaise with him. Just to be on the safe side, I called him at 3pm and was pleasantly surprised that the window has been fixed up in the morning. Hmm..., why my contractor did not call or sms me. Quite pai seh! I have not passed the money to Mr Ang yet but he was quite cool about this, understood that I was quite busy to pass the cash to him. I have gotten a contact from my wife's uncle who is doing mirror. Toilets shower screen, kitchen backsplash and dining room mirror have been measured on 6 July and pending for him to get the items ready before coming up to fix. By now, the house is almost ready except for furniture and electric appliances.
  18. My Haiku fan arrived... Opened pressie Flying to Bangkok in 1 weeks' time, planning to get my dining lights there. Checking Hawaii five O and a couple of other shops mentioned in Renotalk.
  19. Sunnyisland, will your kitchen look dark? The picture look kinda dim, maybe under-exposed. Just realised that you have used the same tiles for the floor as well for your kitchen wall back-splash too. Interesting concept
  20. True, only thedottyness will know how smooth the plastered wall is. Unless we are invited for house warming
  21. U have mail... Thanks for liking the kitchen and WIW. Just worried that I an spent more time cleaning in order to preserve the whiteness. WIW will be the raw industrial theme, prefers the not too shiny clean kind of copper pipes.
  22. Love your white kitchen and wardrobe. Nice contrast on the kitchen backlash. What colour & material did you use because of the lighting, cannot see clearly? Cool Haiku fan... Swee Swee
  23. Wife is not happy with the exposed wardrobe, citing dust will stuck onto the clothes. This is something I have overlooked while planning with ID. Bad news, ID proposed a clear glass door but there isn't sufficient space to build one due to the space constraint between the air-con and copper pipes. We can either use curtains at the WIW to minimise dust. Or as advised by ID, to use those plastic clothes hangar to keep some of the clothed dust-free. Guys, remember to plan properly in advance or else have to live with the mistake.
  24. Your sofa looks kinda long. As long it is comfy, should not be a problem, looks quite spacious.
  25. Your EM looks big & spacious. For your dining area, wall paper or pop art should do the trick.
