Ah, what is landed living without a true garden? I am no expert in gardening, but it depends on what you want to do (that is, the degree of involvement in gardening) you should be able to find most of the plants/trees in the nurseries along Bah Soon Pah Road. If you were to attempt a garden like the one shown in the video, then to me there is no question that you would have to be very hand-on. Even so, the project is without an endpoint (so to speak), requires ample dose of patience, and yet you could find yourself humbled repeatedly by the plants and trees. I have no knowledge of importing a plant or tree. Good lucks!

If you are up to it, I would suggest a reading of Aldrich Plan, the actions of Fed Reserve under Benjamin Strong, the British under Montagu Norman, the German under various central bankers and finally how to idiotic French under Moreau whose actions drove the German to re-arm and start the WWII. In general, and in my view, high opinionated people should avoid the markets. Especially as a trader.It is because in the markets, one has to be brutally honest with himself. Most people who do consistently well there would have found a way to be emotionally detached from a buy/sell decision and able to cut loss effortlessly. When one is able to cut loss with ease, the rest would be fairly simple (for example, the technical aspect of a price chart). In short, the better trader is a psychopath. Cheers!

Unless you are running a datacenter at home (or elsewhere for that matters), there is no practical difference between having the cat 6e or cat 7. Even then, the equipment for the datacenter would have to be state of art to leverage on the capability of cat 7 cable. Just my 2-cents thought. Cheers!

I found it strange when a Xtian asked (and laughed at the notion of), what has the stars got to do with 命. The story of Christianity actually started with the stars as described in Genesis. I wouldn't go into the detail of the story (readers could google for it), today this story is still represented in how we called some of the days in a week. Saturday represents Saturn-day in the Genesis, Sunday of course refers to the victory of the Sun over Saturn, Monday is Moon-day represents the triumph of Jehovah over Venus. Jehovah of course is also called Allah for the Muslim, where in the Muslim world the moon as the symbol of Islam. Jehovah is the Moon God, one of the seven gods collectively called Elohim. Also. Easter Day, Xmas Day both refers to a star positioning, the movement of the Sun. My point? There is a lot of similarity in the belief of various cultures eventhough they are obviously developed independently from thousands of years ago; the Egyptian, the Hindu, the Chinese etc. Therefore, to laugh at one of them only showed how much you really know about your own belief. I am glad that they have been helpful. No, I am not in construction but I would buy landed house to redevelop when there is an opportunity and so, would require the knowledge of what a contractor is up to.The purpose of the solvent is to dissolve and remove the epoxy trapped (minutely) within the surface (pretty much the same purpose of applying make-up removal in cleansing a face). It really depends on how thorough the contractor wants the job to be done, because then the subsequent moisture test is more definitive. Another approach is to sand the surface. The epoxy is to be mixed with a hardener in the proportion instructed by the manufacturer. The contractor should know how to mix and apply properly, if not he should consult the firm where he bought the epoxy from. Good luck!

(As mentioned previously, remove all furniture from the area and apply protection to all fixtures.) To rectify (what we like to see done; there could be variation by the contractor): 1. Remove the epoxy coating entirely using scraper or putty knife. Vacuum all debris. 2. Apply solvent to clean the area and let dry (take note that the solvent could be toxic). 3. Test moisture level of screed floor; normally done by taping a 500mm x 500mm clear plastic sheet to an area, leave overnight and examine the moisture captured after 24 hours. There is also instrument that could measure the moisture level. 4. Apply the correctly prepared epoxy to the dry floor and let to cure for at least 24 hours. 5. Examine the result before accessing the area. In all rectifications: - The goal is obviously to redo a process correctly. However, it is very common to have a contractor in to do a rectification but create another problem. Epoxy could be carelessly applied to fixture and furniture, and then would be very difficult to remove; therefore the protection against it (and also dust). - It is advised that the all stakeholders have a clear understanding of what is to be done and the expected result, with agreement before starting the rectification. Normally after a screed, there is a topping material such as tile or timber or laminate applied. The material of course provides the designer the option of color, texture, durability etc. In this case, the problem with a bad screed is not immediately obvious, but would show over time especially with timber and laminate topping.For a pure screed flooring, a problem is almost immediately obvious; for example sandy surface etc. The components of a screed are sand, cement and water, mixed in the correct proportion and the right way. It is fairly simple, until a contractor chooses to use an inappropriate sand, or less cement or more water or anyhow mix them. And almost all the subsequent defects seen in cement screed flooring are caused by this contractor action. Next is the preparation before pouring the screed; there is a minimum thickness of screed to comply, the floor slab to be examined and vacuumed, and wet the slab (some would apply a coating material to help bonding of screed; same purpose of the sealant before painting a wall). And the screed is not supposed to be done on a raining day, when the air humidity is higher. And then the screed is poured and leveled, and left to cure, It could take up to 7 days to properly cure the application depending on the environment condition. So it is fairly simple, the process is similar to baking a cake, until a contractor chooses to shorten the time and start using (or apply epoxy on) the floor before curing is completed etc. Where epoxy is to be applied, the key is to first make sure that curing is completed. Epoxy is of course a coating, adding a skin to the flooring. An epoxy application is a mix of epoxy and a hardener; when mix correctly in proportion and method, and left to cure properly, it would not be sticky or tacky. Later I would write the process you would like to see a contractor take in rectifying the situation in this case. There is also the need to remove all furniture in the area and put in place protection before the start of the process. Good luck!

I agree that the photos are not showing the necessary detail; for example, couldn't tell the span of the glass panel etc. But for a new installation, I would reject it because the glass is obviously not cut to fit. In order words, either the installation is not properly measured, or the glass is not cut to measure. There is no reason why an installer should leave the glass so short. Also, how are the u-channel brackets secured to the quartz top and false ceiling (I presumed)? It seems to be a thick piece of glass and therefore is heavy, so the glass is as secured as the security of the brackets. If the contractor or ID were to insist that there is nothing wrong, I would ask him to apply force to the glass panel to test. I would rather it breaks loose now than when everybody has moved into the house after the renovation. Good luck!
