Some products can cause carpet to get dirty faster or damage the carpet’s color and texture. For a list of carpet manufacturer- approved spot and stain cleaners, go online to The Carpet and Rug Institute. Test carpet-cleaning products on an inconspicuous area before using.

Boric acid. It kills just about any bug it comes in contact with, and from what I've read online, it's what professional pest control uses against carpet beetles. Put down a light dusting of it behind baseboards, crevices, etc. if you have light colored carpet, dust the entire carpet and leave it for at least a day before vacuuming. It's harmless to humans insofar as touching it. However, it is poisonous if ingested, so don't let small children or pets around it!

Find a carpet cleaner that uses an enzyme cleaning process. The enzymes will eat the urine.

I read on another DIY thread just now that if you apply one of these mildew sprays to the seal by soaking toilet paper in it and leaving it overnight it will clear it so I'm experimenting with that.

I don't lay tile enought to have that magic touch that keeps mortar out of the joints, so I usually run a "+" style tile spacer though the joints to pull out anything that gooped up. A nylon bristle brush work nicely too.

My cabinet doors are old and falling off and i need some neat ideas for some cheap DIY ideas. once i heard some chanel on tv doing a door out of some kind of like chicken wire and putting it in a frame to make some neat doors but i need something like that that will be cheap hopefully to do. my kitchen is decorated in green ivy mostly as the decor.Master chef

Just installed new garbage disposal and kitchen sink won't drain without being turned on. This causes dishwasher to overflow kitchen sink. I don't feel like standing at the sink anymore and turning on the disposal every time we need to wash dishes.Master chef
