  1. Yeah i understand what you mean. For us we make it a point to keep things we do not use back in the drawers and cupboards. Yeah i know the place still new give it a couple of months and we will stop doing that. I think it boils down to the individual. Even when i was staying at my mum's place, i always like to keep my personal space/area neat tidy and clean. Unless i run out of storage to keep stuff, then i will start throwing away old stuffs that i do not need. We make drawers and cupboards to keep things. So i always remind myself to make use of it since i paid for it hahaha. Of course, try to only purchase things you really need else they end up as a white elephant in your home not only in the kitchen.
  2. Yes you are correct. We took the package that HDB offered us which includes all doors, taps, shower head, tiles and so on. The finishing is nothing to shout about but its also not sloppy. It is decent enough. Of course, some things we did not like is that the sink is too small.
  3. Yeah we specifically did not want to do our cabinets all the way to the top coz we reckoned that putting things all the way that high up would be inconvenient for us to take it down. In any case even if we were to put things that we very rarely use or don't use simply meant that we should not even have purchased it in the first place hahaha. Not doing the cabinets all the way up also helps to make the place look more spacious. Of course the layout of the place also helps a lot thankfully.
  4. Thanks all for stopping by for a look.

  6. I am using a contractor for my renovation. However, this contractor used to be an interior designer before he switched lines to become a contractor hence he knew what to mix and match for us with regards to the overall design of the place. Our renovation officially started in the beginning of November.
  7. Hi. Thanks for looking. The dining table is of the same material used in our kitchen top which is a solid surface material. Price wise we do not know as it was part of the whole package so it was not specified in our quotation.
  8. Master Bedroom Master Bedroom Wash Room We did not do much for the Wash Rooms. Just furnished it with Ikea. Thanks for taking a look. Merry Christmas Everyone and a Happy New Year.

  11. Same here. Initially wanted to get two sets of PD door but after visiting my friend's place, dropped the idea completely. They used it for less then a week, and the catch that makes the PD door fold after sliding halfway is getting lose. They said they regretted purchasing it. Of course they bought it through a contractor so they did not have to contend with this company with an attitude.
  12. For me i chose HDB tiles coz it was cheap. Downside is that there are lines/seams between each tile so its a bit difficult to maintain it if stuff gets stuck between the grooves as compared to those seamless/homogeneous tiles. And it does not look so "condo" like when viewing it coz the seams can be seen. So it depends on individual. However, i cannot stand the doors provided. It is of really low quality. I was cleaning the doors today and when i climbed up and look at the doors from the top, it looked like they used a few pieces of cheap plywood and glued them together, laminated them, then maybe coat some fire proof coat on them. Visually looking from the top is bad enough.
  13. I have some questions relating to the above and was wondering if anyone else has had such an encounter. We decided to seperate the renovation to two different people. One contractor for carpentry and another person just for painting. So before carpentry commences, painter comes in to do base coat followed by first layer coat with our chosen color. Then the carpentry begins. After it is over, painter supposed to come back to do touch up. So painter comes back and blames the main contractor that they did not take care of the walls and ceilings and made it look dirty. So he will touch up those areas and informed us that is the outlook looks uneven it is beyond his means and pushes the blame to the main contractor for not taking care of the walls and ceilings. My question is, does what the painter says is true? Because my main contractor mentioned that the professional painters will do base coat, 1st or 2nd coat, followed by final coat of the whole wall after renovation completes so as to avoid uneven tones on the walls. Also are painters also responsible for wall plastering? I understand most people went for the whole package deal which includes chemical wash and all that but i am just very curious as to who is actually telling me the truth. I am not finding someone to blame just curious so as to avoid and know in future so as to avoid this awkward situation as i do not want to offend both parties. Any ideas?
  14. Tandem, Tandembox plus and Tandembox intivo all come with Blumotion anti slam/soft close runners. The difference is in the design of the drawers on the side. For a clearer idea, visit the blum showroom and see for yourself. The runners come with different weight capacity. That is important coz if you purchase the runners with the wrong loading capacity you may experience that pulling the drawer in and out may not be that smooth and quiet due to overloading. If the design of the sides of the drawers are not critical then get the Tandem drawers. This is a sample of the Tandembox intivo
