This is wat I hv in mind if I'm able to get a corner unit wif similar layout to urs. I also intend to hack off the common room to wider the living room. Well, I oredi hv in mind the type of unit which I'm gonna get, thus the planning. Also hv in clear mind tt would be gg for pure white minimalist concept, which suit juz basic single needs. Anyway, if u are able to get those sticky type, juz mix a little soap wif water into the spray gun (those u use for ironing), and spray onto the tape before applying. The mild soap mixture will help u to paste the tape easily as well as to remove the bubbles.

Unbecoming. Wat course of action did the Citygas staff propose after viewing the damages? They couldn't juz simply say it's bad quality tiles and close the complaint, right? U gotta call them again and along the way of complaint, get the names of those u spoken to. Quote everything (and who said it) they mention. Gotta be firm and speak to higher management, if not it'll be as good as talking to the walls. Bug them over the phone till they respond wif something favorable to u. Another thing u could try is to email back to them again on the undesirable outcome and cc to EMA, who governs such energy service providers. Not sure will this send some stern msg across.

Depends on who u spoke to. Some staff may try to brush off complains in order not to alert their management. Try sending an email to their higher management. Be nasty and harsh in ur complain and demand for expedited reply and compensation. Attached pics showing the damages. Rem, even if the tiles are of low quality, damages are still damages. They cant juz brush off responsibility by merely saying its due to low quality tiles. Usually they'll react, unless they choose to ignore ur email.

An abstract artpiece might do the wonders too. Erect a wall shelf along the top of the trunking to conceal (u may place few small ornaments on the shelf. Then a big artpiece on the centre of the wall. Juz dun overcrowd tt area.

Use the space as a display area. Trust ur first instinct when u initially thot of using tt area as a display. Personally I think it looks plain if u leave it, even if it's without the open net trunking. Can consider doing up wall shelves?

See if u could get those plastic sheets tt can be sticked onto the table surface (like wat we did for hp screen protector). Like tt, u need not worry abt length. Juz trim off the edges to size.

Still early to hunt. Am spending my free time doing design and space planning first. Not likely to get the type tt hv storeroom between kitchen and living room. For corridor types, gotta see if I could hack off the wall of the common room to widen the living room space. U can consider changing the centre wood piece of ur tv feature wall to rosewood color if u wan. Again, it's all personal preference. As long as ur overall design color scheme is blended in.

Yup. Tts roughly wat I hv in mind too. Am actually having the same space allocation concept as wat u mentioned. Storage will be either before or after the dining table/area (likely to after, ie blend into the overall kitchen cabinet design). Another thing I'm pondering is, I hv an extra little area which I dunno wat to do wif it. Eg, if my dining area is near kitchen side, I'll hv an unused space opp the new living room area (revamped frm the common room) at the door side. Likewise, if I placed the fining area opp the living room area (so tt ppl can watch tv as they eat), I'll hv an unused space before the kitchen area. Catch the ball?

Er... Pardon if I'm being ignorant. I always thot there's a diff between stainless steel and scratch resistance? Stainless steel mainly offers more resistance to corrosion rather than scratches, unless the product states scratch resistance stainless steel.

I'm thinking of shrinking the kitchen too, since I seldom cook. Depending on floorplan, will see if I'm able to hv a cabinet in the kitchen (blending into the kitchen cabinet design) for storage of bulky items.

Kum sia Still cracking my brains on how to hv storage area/room, cos I really wanna hack off the common room to widen up the living room area (dun like squeezy spaces). One opt I can think of is to try to make some space frm the kitchen/dining area for some built-in storage cabinet. Good progress for ur reno. Make sure checks are done periodically. How's shopping coming along?

Improvise, my fren. Got ur ID to redesign the top cabinets. Also, since the beams can't be hacked, I would suggest tt u make full use of it in ur decor, eg small wall shelves along the beams for ornaments or plants
