  1. Just a short update Met up a few IDs this week. Awaiting the quotes and hope to start reno asap.
  2. Hi I think I am your neighbour
  3. Comex 2011 is here....but please do your homework before any buying any stuff. IMO best is to note down the numbers of all the neighbourhood shops, call and ask for the price of the model of the tv....compare the free gifts....and then decide which is a better package overall. do take note also of details like installation, delivery etc. some deals at trade shows...u pay full price...but they tell u delivery full until a certain date etc etc. another thing to take note is GST ONLY GST-registered companies can charge GST At ANY PLACE, GST-registered companies MUST display PRICES with GST. that means, price display $599 means $599. no such thing as add 7% when u reach the cashier....whatsoever. IF you meet a shop/vendor telling u their display price is not inclusive of GST, KINDLY PM ME. If you get charged GST, the GST registration MUST be shown on the invoice or receipt. IF NO GST REGISTRATION NUMBER, KINDLY PM ME AGAIN! For avoidance of any doubts, this is extracted from IRAS website You can check GST registration via this link here http://www.iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page.aspx?id=2152#Online_service

  7. anyone can recommend an electrician for this? i am interested to future proof my place
  8. i am planning on getting downlights too. saw the one TS mention....i think they have white faceplate instead of silver too. (yes lightings.com.sg) I am not sure if there are any similar ones in the market....but the screws are definitely a smart concept. dunno why the other manufacturers never think of this in the first place but then if u are planning on LED, then any type of downlight also can since you probably wun need to change bulb often. me planning to use the philips easyscene bulbs...so these suit me quite fine i guess.
  9. Actually the key point of this downlight is the fact that you just need to unscrew the 2 screws (refer to picture provided by TS) when changing bulbs. That is an epic change already because you DO NOT need to use any other tools to pluck out the faceplate. the traditional downlights need to use something to "giao" the faceplate out, risk damaging your false ceiling. especially when u cannot control your force well.
  10. can become even less visible if u want either a painting/clock....or maybe u can put skirting to fill the bottom.....well ur choice

  15. Hi there. wondering if anyone has advance knowledge on the paints to be used for wall and ceiling. I would like to know if this is correct? so we use wall sealer as base coat? http://www.nipponpaint.com.sg/products/primers-sealers-and-undercoats/vinilex-5170-wall-sealer/ then http://www.nipponpaint.com.sg/products/primers-sealers-and-undercoats/aqua-primer-sealer-undercoat/ or http://www.nipponpaint.com.sg/products/primers-sealers-and-undercoats/bodelac-undercoat-9000/ then 2 coats of http://www.nipponpaint.com.sg/products/interior-paints/3-in-1-medifresh-anti-bacterial/ like that able to have a waterproof, anti mold wall?

  18. hope can seek some advice here wife likes the idea of cove lights at curtain area....that illuminates the curtains a little....to provide some ambiance. I am thinking whether it is a good idea my main considerations are 1) lights will be near window. it means insect magnet? 2) the L-shaped area will become dusty after sometime right? any solutions to prevent this? I googled for alternatives.... found this but definitely not cheap.... so wondering if anyone here managed to do something to have the cove lighting effect but without cove lights? dunno if my question makes sense
  19. for price u need to call and check....but imo most of these small shops the pricing shld be cheaper than the big retailers.
