  1. ya... thought about it too... since the carpenter is making a new one to match the height, I told my contractor to use rubbery wheels instead
  2. Totally agree! I too doing white kitchen. All white!
  3. Went to collect the kitchen light we bought yesterday. Look expensive but it is not! thick acrylic diffuser. simple and homogenous look, doesn't fight for attention with the rest of the items. we love it at first sight! Some other things we got along the way home. Ceiling light for toilet. T5 lights for our toilet pelmet aka egg crates
  4. Before inserting our "island" In place However, notice that the height difference. May have forgotten to take the kitchen concrete plint height during the fabrication. Informed my contractor and he say he will look into it
  5. Sink side cabinet almost done. Oven and stove side cannot do cos Citygas only coming on Monday. Our Kraus sink sitting nicely. ok... hope there's enough space for the tap presenting our movable kitchen cabinet. this is going to be placed infront of the HS door in the kitchen to give us longer counter top space to work on. Double up as an island for food serving at dining room during gatherings.
  6. aircon guy at work. Noisy! All the thick thick insulation waiting to be installed Aircon up! testing to check for any problems. so far so good!
  7. The carpenter's screws box. cool The greatest enjoyment is to see our home coming to live. seeing them work is an enjoyment Top cabinet up! trying to get it level due to not levelled either ceiling or wall
  8. The kitchen and study room cabinets arrived when I reached this morning. whole lobby is filled with out stuffs! study room bookshelves waiting to be assembled. This would be where my oven goes. aircon guy also here liao! so packed, our aircon guy have to also moved the cabinets around for them to install the aircon
  9. couldn't agree more. mrb toilet door best to be along the corridor so when sleeping wont see the toilet when I turn my head over.
  10. study room wall with a hole for our HDMI and Cat5 cable thru to living room View from living room HDMI cable for now. going to bring my Cat5 cable. It is created to connect my PC to the receiver and wired internet for desktop
  11. The kitchen plint was completed 2 days ago. Due to some minor height differences after using the level from kitchen and when it reaches the toilet, we decided to do a small kerb. this also prevents water from splashing into the corridor too much during washing. this is how it looks when door close.
  12. nice looking toilet door you have there!
  13. I don't think there is any issue to that.
  14. I like your common toilet layout so much! Short cut to service yard n kitchen!
  15. Shower kerb done. now waiting for the glass door and screen to be installed. Entrance tiles also done. made it a drop instead of a ramp to prevent dust from flying into our unit. kitchen kerb half way done. only for kitchen cabinets. no fridge and washing machine kerb for us
  16. though I am not that superstitious type, but would prefer to move-in either after 7th mth or during auspicious date. do you know any good auspicious date for moving-in day during 7th mth?
  17. That door stopper look cool! Bought from challenger as well? Is it rubbery?
  18. Thank you! More photos coming soon.
  19. skirtings are up... 99% completed for floor tiles. Went to collect our Rinnai hob, Fujioh Hood, and Bennington C600 heater from Jerome. Wanted to get the Bosch HBA23B550J oven from him as well but it was sold out. So got it from MDS instead. same price. Waited at new place for the delivery
  20. it's always useful to have additional counter top space for laundry stuffs too
  21. Really depends on how extensive your Reno going to be. If only carpentry, then quite fast. Staying while renovation is going on might be a little dusty. If no one is gonna be at home to supervise, then you goto lock up ur belongings in the room. It is possible, cos they only work during day time
  22. For illustration Unlike a typical service yard layout for most new HDB flat, all these can be hidden mostly in the service yard. For our case, the gas pipe runs into the service yard all the way to the opposite wall, and hot water pipe to run back into the kitchen and into the common toilet. Not forgetting the water has to be tapped from the tap shown in yellow. In summary, this type of unit design is not suitable for gas heater. Either that or the Mechanical Engineer did not understand / over looked the considerations and requirements of gas heater
  23. yup. We wanted instant hot water instead of getting storage tank heater. Party because we do not want to wait for the tank of water to heat up and and wasted energy to hit up water that we did not fully use It's too bad we cannot use gas heater like ur place unless seeing MRT lines all over cos our service yard not back to back to the toilet. Since both of us don't take long showers, we thought instant is the way to go
  24. As long as the fabric feels right, quality ok, be it from China or any where else, it does not matter. Not all China products are of low quality. Depends on the QC/QA
