Selling our used L-shape sofa. Washed and cleaned. We wanted to downsize our sofa as we wanted a non L-shaped sofa to give more space for kids to run around. One of the arm rest on the left is removable and can be used it as a low seating "bench". Self collection from Marsiling at $350. Delivery all in at $400

Today some of our 2nd batch taobao purchases arrived! So happy with them. The quality seems good. Kitchen soap dispenser Black Bid Tap for washing machine. It feels so good! Digital wifi door bell. Haven't manage to try. Will do so and write a review on it. It even has option for British plug.

Over the weekend, we did some setting out and mock up of the shower mixer and rain shower. This set is cheaper that has the mixer and rain shower pole separated. If I get the full "integrated one" it will cost another many hundreds more and had to wait 2-3 weeks to indent. I could have bought from taobao but I am also afraid that it might be damaged along the way due to its slim and long packaging. So placing it side by side is not much of an issue. Just that the shower is slightly off-centered. Cannot place it one above another because the rain shower will be too high. almost 2.4m up! Best position is 1m from finished floor level to centre of mixer and rain shower control.

one of them I got off at a very good price from carousell. almost half. the rest i got from Hansgrohe showroom at Mohammad Sultan. The kitchen and toilet faucets are on discount/GSS. Another rain shower I got it with 20% discount (non promo/GSS items) using a friend's SIA PPS membership. Some of my friends suggested Econflo at Commonwealth. I think Bretz & Co at Nassim Road also not bad. If you have an account with China's forwarder such as Prouter, I think you can buy from taobao. Most of them wholesaler and selling authentic Hansgrohe. I tried to buy direct from them but was not allowed. They refused to send imported high value products to Singapore due to past experience of huge lost on some accounts with Singapore buyers. Not sure what though. So If you have Prouter account, which I had only just recently know how to do it, you probably can save quite a bit. But you need to take risk for damaged items.

since we are redoing the toilet, I had insisted that the shower screen alum U-channel to be embedded into the finishes, so the end result is just a clear glass panel, unlike the after thought add-on look. We had a major issue with kitchen sink cabinet in our previous house. The leak from the kitchen faucet had caused rotting to the counter top. We decided at that time to upgrade to a larger sink and replace the white solid surface with Quartz. I would advise to avoid using solid surface as it scratches and stain, especially when it is white! This round, we adopted concrete base, also recommended by our ID contractor. Installation in progress. Also wall skirting removed and patched up ready to receive the vinyl floor.

Arrived today also are our Hansgrohe purchases. We had also decided to spend a bit more for some quality faucets and showers. The quality is really top notch. Holding it in your hands gives you a confidence that there is no compromise in thickness due to it's weight.

Our custom made kitchen sink arrived after 3 weeks! We can't find a suitable sink that is 30/70 at our preferred dimensions plus can fit a wok with working space around. So decided to customize it after we chanced upon one seller that can do it. Seller was prompt which gave us the confident, plus positive reviews. Total cost: <400 for this size. Quality and workmanship is great. Comes with basket type of strainer. comes with quite big holes though. Not sure if we will change it to a mesh type instead. See how it goes next time.

went to get some kompacplus samples and did some testing to it. Hot kettle and pot on the surface. seems quite ok with the heat test Did some sauces/spices 24hrs stain test. Especially the killer turmeric. Want to see how it fairs Wash using just water. Turmeric, curry, carrot, briyani tomato and marmite sauce seems to be leave some stain. (the photo isn't that clear due to lighting and camera handphone photo) Washed with magic clean and all stain gone. Not bad at all. It gave us confident in this product.

Seriously?! From my experience in HDB projects and this era of flats I did they are structural beams to cater for the drop in level. Maybe check out again after I get my keys.

Thanks for the suggestions! 1. Ya I think need a small ceiling fan. 2. As much as I love to remove the beam between living and balcony, it's a structural beam :S 3. Need to plan Abit. Was originally thinking of creating that wall to keep all the kids stuffs/toys that can easily be retrieved and stored from view. Actually was thinking of doing fake green wall instead so irrigation system not required and will be "evergreen" 4. Problem now at my place is lack of wardrobe space. Lshape will mean got same length as my current house. My wife gonna kill me. Haa 5. Need to talk to my wife. She wanted the dressing table there. Initially wanted to suggest putting it at the end of the walk-in wardrobe.

5 years on, with 2 kids in came into our family, we decided with heavy heart to move on from our first humble home. As our family grew bigger with my mum staying with us, we finally made our commitment to shift from a 4rm SOBF at Strathmore Ave to our future new 5rm resale just nearby, Jalan Rumah Tinggi. One might question why do we want to move away from one of the most convenient location to location that has only 1 bus serving the estate. Though is up a "hill", it is just behind Alexandra Ikea, ABC hawker centre, Alexandra Village, Queensway Shopping Centre. What's more, it is a quiet location. Layout of the 5-rm unit. The owner had bought the recess area which we loved it. Good for shoes and umbrellas storage. The owner had also removed the store, but we will be removing the wall between the kitchen and living room anyway and will be creating a store at another location. We are still waiting for the bank to approve our loan then we can proceed with all the necessary appointments with HDB to get the paper work done.

Want to get an opinion on DBS home loan. There's currently a floating rate package at FHR8(O.20%)+Spread(1.45%) with lock in of 2 years but both % are not fixed during the lock in period. This floating package comes with$888 cash rebate. Another one is fixed for 2 years of the same rates but from 3rd year onwards, the spread is 1.65%. Do you think it is still better to go for 2 years fixed then refinance it during 3rd year or can go for the floating them also refinance it after 3rd year? Not sure how volatile DBS spread rates for the past few years.

Typically it should be either concrete base or metal legs with fascial board cover infront. Another type is hanging. U got photos?

How come the counter height is not consistent? It should not be shopping. Mine I did at 900mm high. I'm 1.83m and my wife is 1.69m tall. My mum is about 1.5+ and she had no problem using it but she would prefer it to be 850mm high. Anyway 36.5" is way too high. Kitchen top should be max 900mm, i.e. 35.5"
