  1. i'm using Mitsubishi system 3. Understand from aircon guy that Mitsubishi Heavy Industrial is relatively new as compared to Mitsubishi and he can't comment much. Settle for system 3 for all bedrooms only. I assume you are getting a separate compressor for living room/dining. That was our initial plan until we changed our mind and decided no aircon for living room since it is open concept with kitchen. The aircon guy told me you need about 8000+ for rooms and 12000 + BTU for living/dining.
  2. Good thing you have ID. We're very much on our own as our contractor prefers us to work directly with various parties to get the best bargain. However some wrong decisions were made eg. aircon trunking run from the master to all bedrooms and the trunking can be seen from bedrooms. Hopefully built in wardrobes can hide the flaws. I'm at blk 445b and most likely will move in in Oct as built in will only complete end Sept. So far the false ceilings are up and next week for paint and subsequently will get the flooring and grills done up.
  3. Looks pretty good. Like the way the ceiling and lights blend well. Seems like you will be moving in soon
  4. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm basically working with various persons instead of an id. Very much on my own and so no 3D design whatsoever. However my furniture lady will sketch out the look and I've more or less selected the material for the most of the built in. Will post pix when all is done.
  5. Hi skylimit just to let you know that I have managed to find a PE and renovation work will start tomorrow. In the end we may opt for open concept ie. tear down the walls and built bar-top cabinets (L-shape) and do without the door even for the kitchen to dining area.
  6. Think I will settle for kdk instead.
  7. I think it is $599 after discount. Original price is 700+. Suppose to be really quiet type and save energy.
  8. Has anyone installed haiku ceiling fan. Check the website My link Went to UU last week and we saw the fan which looks rather cool and uses very little energy. But the only issue is no lighting kit. I am considering getting that and have downlights in L-box in living room area.
  9. Thanks Skylimit. My new flat is in 445B. I went to HDB office today and argued my case regarding PE. From what I gather they don't wish the contractor to anyhow hack the flat and it seems PE is like a babysitter to ensure that. I'm appealing against total hacking and only hack against wall but will engage a PE to "babysit". Anyway my objective is to ensure I can see my young son from the kitchen and not up to nonsense. So much for such simple request. Hope to hear from u for the PE contact.
  10. Hi Skylimit My contractor has submitted our renovation plan to hack a "window" from the kitchen to dining area and all the other parts of wall is intact. I am surprised that HDB said PE is required as according to my contractor and my sis who is a quantity surveyor, it should not matter since the wall is a non-structural wall. Btw, which PE did you use if I can't convince the HDB that I don't need one since the renovation guidelines never mentioned it is required.
