  4. Not sure in singapore. but on the internet, plenty availabe. typically there are 2 types of replica painting one is actually digitized and printed on canvas drawback is you won't find the texture of the painting brushstrokes, but you might still get one very close to the "ageing look". it will be flat due to the printing. another one is where an artist will paint the replica, colouring will be bright, you might not be able to capture the essence of the original painting but if the artist is good, at least u will get the textured brushstrokes. most will not be able to create the ageing effect though and some will do it for a premium in price. its not perfect but no choice. =) good luck

  10. I've managed to get a glimpse of the mortgage details from StanChart. Its actually pegged to the 3mth SOR rate (Swap Offer Rate) Swaps are basically "deals" structured between 2 entities (commercial). Example, 1 company has a fixed interest agreement and the other has a floating interest agreement and both parties want to exchange, hence the market exists. Rates are also pretty similar to current SIBOR at the moment. if i'm not wrong 0.5% + 3mth SOR 0.75% + 3mth SOR 1% + 3mth SOR there is some terms on how the interest rate is "floating" E.g 1st FEB 08 - They'll check what is the 3mth SOR rate and that will be the base interest. 3mths later on the 1st of the month, they'll revise again. So technically, its not too bad. at least if market rates are coming off, you have the chance to enjoy them. Typical Floating packages are quite nonsense. Have you heard of any bank when interest rate come off, that the Base Lending Rate is also revised downwards? It does not happen. lol... But if you sign the document for the Loan, 1 mth or 2 mth later, the interest increase. is that possible? Of course.. lol...

  15. Just to share my 2 cents, My views are very different. To me, marriage is nothing "special", to me it doesn't change anything besides the forms that I fill when I'm asked for my marital status. My relationship is still the same. It doesn't change the status quo for me. Why do I say that, it's because marriage to ppl could mean "the next step" in a relationship, there could be fears and what not.. but honestly, let's paint a picture. A) Man and Buddy goes clubbing at the local pub.. meets some gals.. Question, does the Man who is married say no to any sexual advances because he is "married" ??? because he has that commitment to the vows mentioned at the solemnization of their marriage? B) Similar Man and Buddy goes clubbing... yada yada yada.. in this case, Man thinks... and says no... why? because of the love to his partner... heck Man is not even married.. Hence, married or not married, not important. the love for each other is. in order to love each other without hesitation, they must burn the bridge, understand that there is only each other. no one is is better. more beautiful. more perfect. My 2 cents.
  16. Yeah, my delivery was correct and prompt. The fella even threw in extra cushions for us without us asking..
  17. SIBOR stands for Singapore Interbank Offered Rate and is a daily reference rate based on the interest rates at which banks offer to lend unsecured funds to other banks in the Singapore wholesale money market (or interbank market). It is similar to the widely used LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate), and Euribor (Euro Interbank Offered Rate). Using SIBOR is more common in the Asian region and set by the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS). Banks normally pay customer interest rates LOWER or close to the prevailing SIBOR rate. Banks normally charge customer customer at rates higher than the prevailing SIBOR rate or any other reference rate that is used by the bank. Honestly, I've not had the opportunity to go through this concept but it seems to me that what they do is to take the prevailing SIBOR rate and add an additional say 1% and this is the prevailing interest you have to pay. Somewhat similar to a floating rate plan. If i have the opportunity to go through the techniquess/document i'll update u guys.
  18. Well you could always get another quote. If you want let me know, i'll PM you my one..
  19. better not.. as i mentioned to you.. you might want to totally avoid even 1 to 2 months before and after.
  20. SIBOR fluctuates daily.. but you must check with the bank on the exact terms and conditions. rates have come down actually since feb this year.. so i wouldn't worry so much, get a fixed package if your really worried.
