  1. Hi pinkwhale, where is this bedframe from? Flat headboard all the way? Looking for such to fit my 30cm thick king. otherwise looking to custom-make. Pls share how much it is & if it's PU? Thanks! My round dining tbl just came! Nw wondering what to do with my rectangular wenge/marble. hmm.
  2. Interesting! Departure fr d norm..d size reminds me of those big white lab sink..kp d pics coming!
  3. Nice corner ! I have trees too on 1 of my walls! Ur kitchen looks spanking sleek and clean, and love those tiles in your toilets! & btw, where did u get your venetian blinds from too? My carpenter just helped me install a white Timber Venetian blind that I bought (just for CNY), rest are pending!
  4. Your pipes disappeared?? Haha! How do you mean by reroute? I had a 7kg front load washer previously, now I am using a 8kg & it's smaller than my 7kg! Pls post ur Suar table soon! Mabari House v. nice & unique, I actually visited a few mths back too
  5. Hi pinkwhale, Yeah backyard = serviceyard (where my compact 8kg French washer goes)...my main con called it backyard, easier I guess!! Yeah retro look, waiting for carpentry (Pending~after CNY) to complete the picture. The honeycomb is Matte feel, they actually carry a slightly smaller size with slightly more sheen (semi-gloss?), I guess that will be more hardy & scratch-resistant. I actually got the sample for the small one (unknowingly), and it appeared to be slightly more scratch-proof. Pls take note, whoever gonna use it...as we did not get any warnings for floor usage. If u are not using any matte tiles for floor, then it shouldn't be any problem. Glossy surfaces seem to be better maintenance. We used glossy laminate for our 1st kitchen, and now we use Matte laminate for our 2nd kitchen as we wanted something different. Maintenance wise, so far I've only used my oven twice & cooked once, so can't really comment! So where are u using your honeycomb mosaic?? Using black or white grout? Where is Unlimited? Haven't heard of it before. I also really liked this type below, maybe for my next house! haha. Do you know, the tilers actually did my subway tiles wrongly!! While I was overseas...this is what happened! They rectified it after my hubby updated me via whatsapp (too late) & I was like WHATTT??!! Sucha waste of time and resources! Looking back, it was quite hilarious. Poor tiler! Another thing with thicker grout lines, maybe dirt gets stuck more easily. When the flooring was done & after chemical wash, we still see white & black grout lines, the tilers blame it on the chemical wash guys and vice versa. Whatever, as long as they tried their best (they came back to touch up), we are ok.
  6. Hi dopesk8 & Ipineapple (u remind me of CNY!), U can try Hup Kiong @Balestier. Light blue subway tiles, yes apparently so...Uploaded a few pictures here (fr.HK~ got Panadol & Charcoal pills too) that will prob match what u want. Chk out the Balestier stretch of Tiles shops (Hafary,Hup Kiong, Lian * *sthg...), one stop station! Soon Bee Huat has nice big showrooms esp the Changi branch, has a good collection of Europe tiles (If u care abt country of make) and some are discounted (but limited quantity). We had fun shopping for tiles! Renovation should be an enjoyable process too Some of the tiles are so pretty, am sure it will turn outstanding with some planning. For us, we prefer to go easy on tiles, and do more with furnishings & accessories!
  7. Super like this! I not so adventurous, only explored the use of a little mosaic (& in strips) in my toilets & on that kankyo wood, saw it when i went shopping for parquet flooring..it looks really nice but will water collect underneath? how much does it cost btw? We settled for the good old wrought iron potbelly grille & dark tiles eventually for our main balcony. Bought a swing but ****, it's kindda too heavy & my carpenter dare not put it up
  8. Hi Pinkwhale, Sorry not good w uploading, they take sucha mighty long time, RT shld do sthg abt it. Just a quick picture here as the backyard is not ready yet, carpentry after CNY as haven't decided on design. Well, these mosaic tiles (Honeycomb) are very easily scratched, not good if you don't like it to look 'used'..haha. Nevertheless, no regrets, I still like it. They feel good under feet too, mini massage!
  9. Oh this is really nice. I went to Millenia Walk to see too. May I know if Koda carry this type of tables in round shape uh? I am looking for a nice round dining table that will match my light brown wishbone chairs. Considering white marble but difficult to find nice Marble table with modern wood base. HEEelllpPpp... btw 'teakandmahogany' carries some nice raw/recycled wood tables too & they have this really nice wooden swing that was featured in the magazines.
  10. hi hi how much does this pd doors cost?
  11. ON TOILET BOWLS: I bought 2 different WCs with Geberit system installed, and I must say Geberit is nothing really fantastic. Luckily I had 1 of those handheld jetspray installed at the side! Life-saver! 1 of our toilets is P type toilet, water pressure is not high, and hence my dual flush buttons became 1 single flush (according to Plumber). I thought there was some problems with the buttons. But I guess Geberit still works better for this P-type, otherwise, it could have been worse?!! *Self-consolation*
  12. Anyone knows where to make nice quality Wooden blinds at a good price? Looking for such e.g. There are so many types,it's making me dizzy. At the speed we go, we won't make it in time for CNY. Spotlight Plaza Sin carries a good variety, but we are sceptical about DIY. They do installation but at additional charge per set, and their installation schedule was already full up to CNY. Wanted to use my old curtains but the new windows are just too long!
  13. Happy New Year Everyone! Kitchen Mixer sold quickly! & That was last year Wallpaper done! Satisfied with outcome, glad I left it to the professionals!! Anyone wants to buy DIY wallpaper full set basic toolkit & wallpaper glue (Manger brand)? Bought a set from UK and I figure I won't be using it for some time.
  14. ur kitchen looks unique, & that choice of black & white is gd! can't wait to see the final output
  15. Hi,nice reno u've there! I like ur Media centre, looks great! My friend was just sharing abt his Audioengine2 speakers w me, & your white ones look really neat!! What grass is that? I also have some grass-alike on my kitchen ledge, haha! Ur dressing room looks nice, am trying to come up with a nice practical layout/design for a dressing room in the middle of my long bedroom, & still undecided on design for my bed..*Headache* will be looking out for ur updates
  16. wa ur ID so happening, she coordinated everything & took pics somemore! her artworks seem interesting! Thanks to Renotalk, sold my kitchen mixer! That jetspray panel u've got looks cool, we almost got sthg similar but eventually opted for a simple rainshower instead. will b looking out for ur reno updates
  17. Any1 has any idea for designing a Walk-in wardrobe in the middle of a long room? Currently looking for a nice round table ard 1.2 or 1.3m (6seater) that will blend in nicely with light brown wooden chairs... Preferably white marble or wooden. Have seen some nice wooden tables but they are mostly rectangular. Saw some ready round marble tables @Island Marble AMK, but white design is limited, and custom orders take some time. The design of the support base/leg seems limited too.
  18. Hi there! Our kitchen cabinet is done & the mixer is too tall for it didn't think too much about it when I bought as I like it.
  19. Hi hi! Nice renovation u have there! I am staying in the west and was eyeing EMs initially, but eventually settled for a simple 5-room unit (with layout that I like) nearer my in-laws. *Sob* I love & shall miss the EMs... Like your overall look,ur designer seems really on the ball (ur reno is gng on v.quickly it seems!) & has good taste, mind sharing who? We did quite some hackings & re-constructing of walls, and the wet works alone took > a month!! Urgh!I also have an island counter but not planning any sinks there.. Coincidentally, bought the same kitchen mixer that U have here in gloss finish, but couldn't use it now, can't refund it either, so now gotta sell off ( All the best to ur renovation & unpacking!
  20. & I've a hot/cold kitchen mixer to sell. It's very sturdy but more appropriate for an island type kitchen counter (with no obstructions on top) as it's about 50cm in height. We bought the wrong one although I really like the design. We can't refund or even exchange it with our vendor, so disappointing! Letting go at S$190. Anyone keen, pls leave a msg or PM me. Brand new! not installed yet!
  21. Taking stock of what's happening... Main entrance before reno starts.. After hacking of walls... Hollow blocks in progress... New wall constructed! seriously, hacking & reconstructing of walls take a long time..come to realize tilers' work are not easy, & it's wonderful seeing how things piece together, step by step. In other countries, people build their own houses from scratch, that they really call HOME. To me, witnessing the transformation process, putting in the finishing touches PLUS having the right people within, a.k.a FAMILY makes it a real HOME indeed! Some people find shifting a hassle, to me it's a phase of life whereby one LEARNS MORE.. Slightly into furniture now. Bought a book to browse: Going out now to take a stroll in the wonderful land of Scandinavian designs, the 'birthplace' of the creator of the wishbone/ Y chair.
  22. While in NY... saw the popular Herman Miller Lounge chair..deliberating whether to get it, but I think I shall skip it and buy a massage chair nxt time since I don't have the luxury of space.. Shipping some chairs in in January, can't wait to see them!
  23. Laminate flooring done last week after almost 3 weeks of 'drying' of cement screed, decided to give Parquet a miss! All in a day's work! Kudos to the bunch of Malaysian team! some pictures to share...
  24. I just got my laminate done, hopefully all is well! Nice furniture u've got there, iconic designs with history. I too like Eames & will prob get the RAR. Just saw the real stuff @DWR in NY. Took some photos & will post later on my Tblog. Anyone can share where to buy the original and the replica in Singapore and how much would it cost? Also eyeing that Herman Miller, Wegner, Noguchi table etc. Just bought some books on such. May I know how much is the price tag here for the dowel leg armchair (DAW) replica? Other than Lush-Lush, where else sells these at a good price? Where did u get the Noguchi table fr? saw it selling in NY @ US$1.2k+. Know a friend who has middleman to bring in replica but can't see sample. Price is cheaper but catch is no guarantee on the final product, wondering whether to take the risk.
