  1. Hello, I'd like to share the deal I got on my LED downlights. It's actually the halogen downlight frame but with an LED bulb (3 watts) and the required transformer. I had bought some from another shop at Balestier for $34 for one (silver square frame), but later on because I decided to install more lights I found this other place called - at Kaki Bukit Road 2 (it's inside the light shop which is opposite the road from the Honda showroom) which sold it at $28 for one (white round frame). I think the price is quite cheap, though I haven't installed them yet so no idea if they will be durable. But at least it's the bulb type so can just replace easily if it burns out.
  2. Hello, I just joined the forum today. I'm was doing up my new 3 room apartment and I got 3 quotes from 3 different curtain shops so far to compare. I got a quote from Golden Leaf (seems like very big and established in SG) for $4.6k, Unique Zone (located at Balestier Plaza) for $4.8k and the cheapest is V Clessique (who did my current house's curtains 6 yrs ago - still in good condition!) for $3.4k. Probably going to consider the last quote as its the most reasonable and I have good experience in the past with them. Although their fabric is not as "high class" as Unique Zone (though in my opinion its better than Golden Leaf), I think it still suits my purpose. It's supposed to be from Turkey. I have very long full height day and night curtains on 2 sides of my living room, full height day and night curtains (blackout) in MBR, half height day and night curtains in 2 bedrooms and a roller blind in the corridor. I'm not sure the forum's rules on posting contact no so just google V Clessique if you would like to try him too. Guy's name is Kelvin. I'll try to update after my curtains have been installed in a few weeks time.
  3. Hi all, I am new to this forum. Doing up my new place and looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced L-shaped fabric sofa. I am expecting this year so I was thinking of getting a IKEA sofa with removable and washable cotton slipcover (thinking of the KIVIK range!). So in case of any dirt or stains I can just machine wash it. Would like to know if anyone has any positive or negative feedback on IKEA sofas? Although it is cheap, I am worried that it will sag or spoil after a few years of use. Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks!
