Update Misquote and Misunderstanding Mr K just called and asked about the door at the walk-in-waredrobe. He sometimes is pretty forgetful thus reminded him that what we initially mentioned and was supposedly quoted for 2 piece louver wood door. Regret that we did not have him revise the quote to be more precise now it is now stating 2 piece of door and door frame at Master Bedroom instead of louver as initially mentioned. Now he mentioned that the 2 piece louver door would cost 1k over and he actually quoted $850 for the supposedly louver door becomes 2 piece normal door This is the second time which this kind of misquote issues happens. First Misquote with Mr K on Sink The first one was the concrete sink which we mentioned to have the sink as Pinkwhale but end up we were only quoted for the concrete sink w/o the sink and we have to purchase our own sink. We did insisted that what we asked for is simply same as Pinkwhale and end up, after completion then he mentioned that we need to do a top-up for it. After all these he told us that the 2 piece louver door would not looks nice as our door frame was being cut too small as he initially have mis-measured and did not consider for door frame. So if we are using louver door it will looks thinly slim and not nice according to Mr K, not sure about how true is that. That leaves us with no other alternatives, insist louver door = indirectly adding reno fees and according to Mr K it will not be nice.

My carpentry will be in today, hopefully the walk-in-waredrobe will be up by these 2 days and could share some photos. We have used up 2/3 of our bedroom 2 to have 2 sided waredrobe at 7ft each side [ Left and Right]. Some of my neighbours did one sided thus taking lesser of Bedroom 2's space. We have the walk-in-waredrobe entrance facing the MBR bathroom door. Thanks~ will update further on the overall. For the HERF, initially we do smell some rubber smell but the smell gradually went away~ As for the settling of the flooring, as per Alex Aw, the sales director of Evorich, mentioned to monitor after moving in, if issues might arise it will usually be the first 3 months, after first 3 months it does not occurs the flooring will be good for life. He did impart some knowledge on HERF that it is easier to maintain compare to laminate while laminate might or will have popping issue but he did emphasis that for HERF after 3 months if the popping issues does not occurs it will not occur. They seems to value great trust on the product allure which was the HERF used.

Funnymatthew, Mr K does not do drawings, sad to say. But would like to mentioned that the electrical drawing which theitsybits was really awesome. It has Mr K praising for the detail of her drawing.

Day 77 About a week have past since the last update~ Nothing much have been done for this past 6 days as we were waiting for carpentry to be up. Evorich Flooring Meanwhile, we have resolve the issue with evorich on the flooring, they have brough their staff to fill in the gaps which could host ants and mentioned that such issue might occur after moving in for the next 3 months as the flooring needs time to settle down. The issue with the flooring was brought up by Mr K who have super sharp eyes on such stuffs especially such errors from Evorich. Customer of Mr K will know of issues he had with Evorich. High Standard Anyway having such high standard for such mistakes, it brings up our standard for Mr K and we spotted a couple stuffs and brought it up to Mr K. Firstly was the imbalance cut drainage from the concrete sink which we understand could not be help as almost perfect circle-cut would not be possible. Electrical Wiring Secondly, is the electrical wiring which pertrutes like this when the rest of the electricity is being concealed : Though the image is from far out, when we took a detail look we could spot the multiple broken casing used to cover the wiring. Being our first home renovation we have no idea if it might be a issue till later we realized it looks quite ugly, thus texted Mr K on our concern and if this might be the usual procedure. What we were told was that the casing will be concealed behind the carpentry thus it will be alright. Which makes me wonder, wont the pertruting casing blocks the carpentry etc. which Mr K emphasis that it will not be expose so why bother about the looks of it or other issues. Which makes me wonder too, does it means that since after pooping, you will not see the poo left as your pants will be covering it thus no need to wipe your as*. hmmmmmm... Anyway we have no idea how it will be resolve as we leave it to his hands as he first gave us the sign that he has high standard. Anyway our fridge was delivered just before Christmas we left it in the Living Room so that the gas in the Fridge could settle down but not able to place it in the kitchen as carpentry and painting have yet to be up. Update Carpentry will be up today or tomorrow as per what Mr K have mentioned. According to Mr K's other customers, the rest should be up pretty quickly after the carpentry will see and update once there is an update.

Sorry to only notice now that you are a neighbour of mine. Did you get sorted out with Mr K? Mr K is also doing another project at 451B. He should be at FF more frequently than he should be so it should be easy to meet up with him. Mr K is doing a similiar sliding door which looks like that for 800 Thanks for dropping by to my blog. Day 71 Evorich flooring with holes appearing Silicon applied on the the side of the HERF starts to appear holes. 2 Days after laying the HERF flooring from Evorich, holes like these start appearing. Not sure it would be the quality of the product used by Evorich or the workmanship laid by Goodrich. There were more holes all around the HERF. *Update : Holes were filled up later on

Day 69 HERF from Evorich Product from Evorich but worker from Goodrich Type : Durban Oak Bedroom 2 + Walk-in-Waredrobe Area Bedroom 3 22 boxes were brought over from Evorich and 21 box were opened, 1 box were return. The last box were open due to a small tiny slim piece of the corner of the room There were lots of left overs however he still opens a new box.

hAhhaHA! have to remind him before reno starts but after it gets started it should and suppose to move on smoothly. But i just checked with him, I was at my place to monitor Evorich lay HERF and Mr K suddenly pop by my place to check on the shower screen. I did mentioned about your situation and Mr K says after CNY will definitely be okay even starting reno now but delivering after CNY will be good for him too. Just mentioned his conversation with me if he says he cant. I signed and he did not even chase me for payment until the start of the reno. As our first and second meet up clears most of the items that we wish to do thus the third time we verbally discussed thru phone. Hi hojichalatte, We did not really met up with him after the the 3rd and 4th rectification of the quote, we did it via phone and he will change those details and email back to us. As for signing we signed and email it back to him. Hojichalatte, you could bring it up to K on which project which you might want to view, so that its easier for him to arrange as well. Intially we felt that he might not be so keen and were going to look for others but his last words was okay thus we went to him. Though there were some hiccups but we have chosen to engage him thus have to try make sure things goes smoothy at least for now. K have a few reno lining up for CNY, if you wish to get him for CNY better inform him and remind him again and again and again. Hi Elin, When is the delivery date which K have given you? which stage is your reno at? I understand how u feels, up till thus far, his quality is still there but agree that "fast" does not valid anymore.

Have your renovation completes? Not sure i recall correctly from Mr K that yours have handover or almost completed? Really interested to see how does the rest of your reno looks like after looking at your bathroom tiles. For the curtain track we have ordered, it states 1qty for 1meter, our window is 1.5m and we are looking at 2 tracks for day and night curtains so we place order for 3qty. Hubby says it could be detached and attached for the track

Day 67 Updates on Carpentry We just received some updates from the carpenter directly

another Mr K client. Mind asking where is ur project located at? Anyway, its stated on the quote to be 3 layers thus we presume there will be 3 layers. 1st layer is the white layer and we did monitor that the drawings in service yard was covered thus presume the first layer is being painted across the service yard and will be painting 2nd and 3rd layer as the drawings on the service yard wall is still visible. does your 2nd coat consist of colour already? If it does, might need to check with K how he does the 3rd coat.

Day 66 Things have been going on smoothly but slowly and Mr K have started calling and update on the progress Guess the reason is because of the 2nd payment. Called to inform us of the 2nd payment is about to due. Either way, its still good that he have used this excuse to update us of the rest of the progression. Service Yard's Sliding windows are up : Bathroom's shower screen are partially up too : Not sure if we should take note of this : Final Outlook : MBR's Shower screen yet to be up :

Thanks for sharing~ Mine are just small holes, bigger holes are inside the rooms with cement screed but K have filled it up for us. hi tarzanboy~ for my herf its $6 previously have googled and found someone manage to get $5.95. Probably you could try to bargain abit. Hi verrer, K did paint our service yard. But we requested to paint it white. Even though there are 4 colours we could choose excluding white.

Day 64 Evorich HERF will comes in next Tuesday and installation on Wednesday. Was going to arrange for installation for Tuesday but due to late notice they could only install on Wednesday. All due to not being aware of the renovation progression. Overheard some mix feedbacks and reviews about evorich thus we are making sure to be there during their installation According to Mr K, HERF = Vinyll and it would supposedly lay a layer of foam beneath the flooring however, Evorich does not do that. As we are not getting skirting, thus sillicon will be used to seal up the ends and it was mentioned that their finishing seal does have some issues. Lastly ever came across a post mentioning about termites issue on their laminates. Any updates will inform everyone about it. Colours Chosen for HERF / Vinyll is Durban Oak

Thanks lala81~ These 2 days things have been moving. Chemical wash and service yard window are up. And Mr K is calling and updating us again yesterday he called us again~ But . . . . . . It was to remind us about the payment before carpentry. :lol: :lol: Anyway, We are checking for tile grouting as was aware there might be some grouting holes in the grouting. We have found some grouting holes in the grout, but its really small holes, not sure if should bring up the issue when touching up.

Have only thought of getting Mr K after reading your blog and been reading and re-reading again. Its a plus point that it can be wash unlike the one we order. Was pulled between star living and hommage due to the price difference too but Hubby convince me to get the one from hommage. Knew you had issues with your initial carpenter and thankfully you had Mr K to do up your bay window afterwards. The bottle-neck is really tight for Mr K and he get quite frustrated sometimes. Anyway thanks for the kind words, Mr. K will really need those for future references. So far after engaging Mr K, there have not been much huge issue considering that i am a very particular person and it WOULD get worst from other ID or contractors. So far what we thought to be promised have been delivered, nothing more nothing less. Touch up we are not so worried as those can comes in slowly, as there is also a line of things to be done after carpentry, considering that we have so little time left after carpentry to the handover date. Mr K previously took about 1 week to arrange for each item as he has a line of clients to line for those items. I guess after carpentry will leave with plumbering, electrical works, painting and chemical washing. Not sure after carpentry if he might take 1 week to arrange for each item.
