Yeah, Jimmy is easy to talk to. After his previous bad reviews, think he is trying to get things done properly. Mr K have been really bz during this period, the service soso but the quality still same as promise to deliver. There was some communication breakdown and some delaying. Was expecting for the handover to be even earlier. Now that my reno has just completed 3 months later, i consider its a rather long time to complete a reno. and according to his previous reno period, it was suppose to be 2mths to 2mths plus. I install my flooring from herf a couple days before the carpentry went up. imagine after chasing Mr K and the reno completes 3 mths later, if i did not chase Mr k, he would have taken more than 3 mths!! Anyway thankfully its over.

Good that you are using Jimmy from 3D, we shortlist Jimmy for our reno initially and was going to consider him if Mr K did not revert or do not have time to make arrangement for our renovation. Looking forward to your progression~

Yeah~ i agree if its something obvious will be something not acceptable, but some obvious visible error have to close eyes. Some error im not sure if its obvious or only be found upon closer scrutiny. For e.g the cutting edges of the tiles. hmmmmm~ anyway those i close eyes already. Just glad that renovation is over and we are ready to move in. That barn door we were quoted 800 for each, though Mr K did mentioned that the previous sub con who his previous barn door was different person who did my barn door. The carpenter was the one doing our barn door. Thus not sure if the price might change. Waiting for Mr K to calculate the final price. When i saw it, i was like . Thought the painter was going to paint it the next day, went back the next day and it is still in the same white against white. Mine was not due to the brush but probably due to the dust flying outside of the house and rested onto the gate. The furry/hairy was not a huge issue but rather the multiple bits on the door that was irritating. Mr K told me it could be due to flying dust but it seems like the bits were being painted over, i suspect the painter did not sand off the gate to smoothen the painting. Mr K told us that he will get his painter to touch up later on. I did told K to arrange for the plumber who would do this kind of fixture which he did for his previous clients to fix our plumbing but he mentioned it will depends which plumber he assign to. yeah~ the white on white abit Not sure what they are thinking~ Rushing to finish the gate's job i guess. Anyway we bought our own paint to paint it over, Hubby insisted on using Gold. Not sure how it will looks like.

These kind of finishing is all over the main gate : Kitchen Granite skirting was installed halfway due to the measurement issue : Now its left unattached onto the wall.

Thanks for being one of my readers. Yes, i agree on the downside on the non removable covers. It was one of our concern too. But eventually we decided if the fabric is too dirty will tailor another one. That is the only alternative hommage given. But its good that you went down to see before deciding.

Hi Vicx, Have you purchase this sofa from star living? I saw the same sofa and though its really really cheap, in fact like you said, its the cheapest, we did not commit until we went to see more and found hommage and saw a similiar sofa and the quality seems to be better at a slightly higher price. Maybe could take a look at hommage.

Scandi Home 4 Room Bto

Oh my~ you have yet to meet up with Mr K? I guess he is busy clearing projects on hand as well. But after chinese new year will definitely be not so rush for him. You are meeting him in mid jan still? -
Thanks for dropping by my tblog. Totally understand how you feel but luckily you are not rushing for CNY thus better quality, hopefully~ I was quoted $6 by Johnson and it was awhile ago not sure if they could still offer the price but 10K is really huge amount. But yours is a 5RM but the price difference compared to mine was way too much! We were initially quoted about 5k for whole 4RM of HERF. Wish you good luck it bargaining with Evorich~ Maybe you could set a dateline for your contractor to commit and if he could not commit could deduct from the balance payment since dateline for u is really tight~ I don't mind to house your 2 cats~ LOL! I have 2 doggy furkids they will make good friends with your furcats~ Nevertheless, i agree that engagement with ID could be even worst if we did not chose the right contractor or ID to work with. At least for me, Mr K deliver what he promised and on time too. Mr K is also NOT those money minded kind of contractor which keep chasing on payment. It is good enough that the reno journey went kind of smoothly. On the last part of the reno, i let my hubby arrange with Mr K instead me aliasing with Mr K and everything went well.

Day 88 Pending Items have been cleared or should be cleared 1. Painting [should be completed by today] 2. Plumbering [should be completed by tody as well] 3. Granite Top [up since yesterday but there was some measurement issue and have to make some rectification] 4. Lighting wiring and closing some electric points. [Completed 2 days ago] Here is the dirty granite top : We bought shadow blind from Qoo10 at a pretty cheap price, though not as cheap at Taobao but the quality was really good and it was much cheaper than curtain and blinder suppliers which quoted us 2-3 times more. Some other pending items coming up : 1. Final Round of General Cleaning on Thurs 2. Handover after the General Cleaning 3. Gas piping installation

Day 81 Reaching the 81st Day of Reno : Almost reaching 3 months of renovation and there are still some pending items 1. Painting 2. Plumbering 3. Top 4. Lighting wiring and closing some electric points. That should be about it. After carpentry completes on sunday and table top came to measure and found a wrongly cut out kitchen concrete and the concrete / tiling worker came to re-cut the concrete. Now the stove is siting nicely on the concrete kitchen. Waiting for the granite top to be up.

K provide price based on lump sum for cement work. Previously was the estimated cost. For the exact pricing, it might not be useful for you as own personal requirements differential as well as measurement differences. As for K he sometimes quote lesser for this and slightly more for that. Its abit pull and push here and there. Tiling is charge by psf and the type of tiles that you chose and the type of tile that your ID or contractor gave. For my tiling we were given around $3 to chose from and we picked a $4.30psf tile.

Thanks~ We selected the colour in Aug and went down to re-confirmed the colour in Nov, now that it is End of Dec, its been a month since we chose the colour the colour looks somewhat the same as what we selected. The one which we have selected is from one of the planks which they display thus it still seems abit different when it is being layout in the whole room. But were pretty satisfy that Durban oak were not too dark and most imptly must pick the right colour tone of laminate for the carpentry to match with the flooring as well. We took consideration of the flooring colours to make decision on the laminates for the rooms. The reason why we did not take skirting is because we find no skirting to be nicer. The skirting spoil the look however, people did mentioned that skirting will prevent the bottom of the walls to be dirty easily when mopping. We did not consider about the material or whatsoever as we did not want skirting from the start. As for the picking of colour, same for the laminates, have to pick a skirting colour which will best match the flooring. For my WIW's laminate matching is somewhat to our ideal but the bay window in the MBR seems to be a little too contrasting. Maybe could pick a colour which could blend nicely.

I think my image did not show the other side of the room , our room does not seems too cramp w the bed in the room. Ours is a Queen Bed. As our Waredrobe have used the space in Bedroom 2 thus more space shld be in the MBR. There is another bedside table at the other side of the room . Our bed will fit in nicely in between the socket and there will be some space at the right hand side to place another small dresser.

Those glass mosaic cost about 1.7k but price might varies depending on the lenght. Our kitchen cahinet consist of cement works and carpentry works, our kitchen were the most expensive, about 10k for kitchen itself as cement works tends to be more expensive. We are not sure the final price of the kitchen cabinets as the quote price was longer than the exact measurement. Carpentry for kitchen cabinets is about $5k. While the concrete about $4k but it does not includes the tiling for the concrete yet. For the concrete sink we were quoted $650 for the same exact concrete sink as pinkwhale if you might know her from Mr K's previous customer but later Mr K told us the $650 does not includes the sink. So there will be a top up later on which we have no idea how much it will be. The length of the walk in waredrobe space is 7ft. Yes~ finally~ waiting for the rest of the loose ends to tie up properly.
