  1. thanks again edenstrauss...for the shop's info. oh wats the dimension of this greyish pic? ...n should you be selling, going for?
  2. well guess so...there was only one guy at my point of visit & yes, definitely doesn't sound nor look like a chinese national. wrong timing like i'd said oh yes, ikea's stuffs is nice & not too expensive, but downside is that it's kinda 'self-destructing'. no heartpain since before any particular purchases, i would check out the prices & then 'accomodate' those flaws as accordingly to the $$$ tag oh but if you mentioned rusty screws, that's not too big an issue...jus dip some nail polisher on it & guess can last longer lor
  3. yup...had mine installed at the service yard as well. wasn't there at the point of installation since my id taking care of it but according to the customer svc guy at citygas prior to my purchase, gas heater is best to be placed either at the service yard or in the kitchen. reason given was that wet areas like bathrm or toilet are not gd for the gas heater since humidity level is high. if installed at the service yard, it's also gd to have windows installed to shield the heater away fm the rain. but of cos doesn't mean you need to shut the windows at all times but jus note that the gas heater has to be kept dry can liao lor. opening the window to air the area surely no issue i have yet to start using since not shifted into new place. got myself the smaller version one @ $168 which comes with foc installation as well. have been told it was definitely gd & no efficiency prob for the warm water to flow if were to utilise 2 points con-currently
  4. oh hahaha! same here, goes around hunting for toilet accessories, sink, taps, lightings, etc in my bermudas too! always love to check who are the ones willing to come forward to serve me. jus to add: have got those frictionless slippers as footwear + a cross-slinged bag + t-shirt = a sleep-by-the-street kinda uncle m protraying. so those who attends to me & showed patience throughout my enquiries...thumbs up lor & it's where my purchases came fm eventually (not mentioning my sis awaiting for my introduction since her new flat be coming in less than two mths' time). adamas? the one along jln besar by the road? well if so, my experience seems to differ fm yours! was at its opposite street around 9-10am on a tue & after much awaiting for the traffic to clear, crossed over & popped into the shop. the bespectacled man did not acknowledge when i greeted him gd am. aft jus one ques which i ques twice, i guess i better leave since he could be too busy to answer. said 'goodbye' before leaving but gd as saying that to a piece of wall. but hey, wrong timing i guess when i enquire...so i never take it to heart since m on my way to check out royal fanco as well as eng soon huat. simply my experiences with: royal fanco - Excellent! very polite lady while man was attending to a couple. eng soon huat - Top Class Excellence attended by mrs koh ironically, did not get anything fm either since spouse agreed later on to my purchasing of ikea bathrm accessories. much cheaper but got to install on my own la
  5. true...n it's gd to throw in displeasure of any forms to your id after those many days of smiles. she got your project, she got your money, then she got to deliver as promised. plain simple. though i always thought while it's gd to give some breathing space, there can be others who may not be deserving of such. remb you now hold 10% as trump card. aft your wardrobe's done, nego to release the $$$ only after a wk's of moving-in. may sound harsh but take it as 'compensation' for those sleepless nights she caused ya lor....maybe those curtains' nightmares can be debited into her account as well??
  6. great, and don't forget to open up all doors jus to let the spicy air escapes...else you'll be 'crying' over your wardrobe next time you open em lor
  7. don't worry even, relax after those h2o sports & await patiently for its arrival! the unfolding of those in front of you shall have you drooled in awe! btw hope that your coming wardrobe be in place soon, and rock solid!
  8. noted with thanks! oh the 3 seater? thought all of their sofas are pretty comfy as far as my butt is concerned my spouse couldn't tell too much of a difference since hers got thick 'cushions' liao but then again with her weight bounced/pounced onto em, she did mention:'wa...Not Bad!' yours should be gd gd hear fm ya again in due
  9. oh me heard that statement as well fm my wife's auntie & uncle...solid still after yrs of usage. should be good la that case though we wld be looking elsewhere
  10. SamTheMan Is The Man! thanks for the consolation actually don't 'lugi' as i thought initially: i 'lost' $180 on this sofa (ie. sofa bed rather) but bought the storage qn bedframe at a 'savings' of >$180 if were to compare with the price put up currently. so more of an 'offset' trade here. jus hopeful that delivery-cum-installation guys be more gentle on my floorings as well as my purchases can liao yup do agree on your calculation - 2 yrs to breakeven on a sofa costing <$500...<$1 per day? actually jus kidding la, no need be this specific or else life be tough cos the bigger areas of concern are out there lor
  11. wow...looks like you've got a Steal! pretty gd deal must say, Great for ya! heard Star's quality is gd & reliable. they have also ventured into designer-look kinda of furnitures under another classic brand name but forgotten wat liao. pieces look cool!
  12. haha...! yes would do that if i was to pay intent visit but my 'visit' isn't so - jus happened that m early for my appt around that area, passed-by lucky chinatown, so dropped-by (i called 'visit' also la, heehee) the shop hopefully to catch a glimpse of the art lor so unfortunately timing not right, so din get the chance to view any work-piece
  13. hi there Bluesummerayz! you seriously got a Big heart accomodating those reno aches...good for ya! wish that soonest: your wardrobe can come by swee swee in its great-looking glossy shine shine white, your cat can go have a great homely rest & that the Huge ko-yio bandage can be removed fm thy fridge lor
  14. hi Bluesummerayz nope, did not purchase any mattresses fm em since we realised that the current 'Sales' prices are Higher than before-Sales'! same goes for the storage bedframes. now i could be wrong but then again, can someone verify if 'Promotion' tag is there or some kinda 'Sales' is going on for its Queen bedframe (storage)? if so, wats the price tag? previously or rather barely a month ago it was also a 'Sales' pricing but at less than 500 bucks. current 'Sales' price? if i'm right, then doesn't matter for those who bought at higher $$$ since wat's important is that at the point of purchase: you think the Buy is worth its price tag & you can afford it. jus hope delivery comes smoothly later on, prodts no prob + installed properly + lasting (for a reasonable amt of time)...then ok liao, give thanks...! stay healthy happy more important. gana Robert that couple of hundreds should not damage your mental state of health. jus dun gana name changed to Roberto in future can liao (at least not so often la)
  15. alright edenstrauss! shall await for your info to come manz...thanks in advance! (went the other day to visit 'yi mei xuan' but alas, was there at 1015am while their operation hrs starts @ 11am. so make sure u guys are not there too early unless you're having day off )
  16. kkss_tt, thanks to ya too for this
  17. oh not yet! actually intended to go expo today for a look see but din get a chance to in the end due to time constrain. well it's great to know of this info :) gum xia
  18. yup yup, understood! no worries bout it, i got your reasons behind this time round. anyhow it's gd enough to have known recommendation no. 2, thanks manz
  19. hi edenstrass! thanks for starting this thread! me interested in such painting as well. can furnish me the details of d ebay seller for enquiries purposes pls? tks in advance! oh yes yes, the shop at new world centre, besides hoe kee,... i happened to walk walk there jus last mon or tue while awaiting for royal fanco to open. Xclusive Living is the name of the shop & they are selling nice accessories like vases, paintings & portraits, etc. however the buddha front-facing painting in black frame which caught my eyes, was actually carrying a price tag of $450 if not wrong! very expensive & mark.low, likewise it's way off my budget! shall go pay visit to Lucky Chinatown sometimes this wk!
  20. aiyo AIYO...! dun scare me lei! my wife gona kill me liao if this happens...ordered 3-seater sofabed (180cm length) for 499, only to find out later in june week 2 that it has gone down to 318 or something! lugi 180 forget it, BUT should less than 2 yrs peel...my skin 'self-peel' oso lor... )
  21. oh talk bout seahorse, had been to jurong point branch twice in the month of may 2011 and was served by two different sales persons on both occassions BUT with a Total Contrast of attitude & professionalism! both are young aunties in their late 30s or early 40s and while Agnes (if dun recalled wrongly) serves & advises amidst the sat crowd with smiles & patience, the other (with pointed chin) folded her arms & stand on the platform to warn my 6 yrs old son 'not to come onto the mattress' upon our entering into the shop (ie. exactly one wk later after Agnes' serving). gosh!...my kid was jus bypassing the mattress, and walking towards the sofas only! wat followed was a string of one ans for one ques kinda style but the thing that made us uncomfortable was that she did not seem keen to serve, with her folded arms & strict stares on every moves we made, sometimes even voicing out 'oh all mattress same size la, dun need to take down dimension' when i was recording the... yes, dimensions of mattress but the bedframe as well. it made us feel very unwelcomed & impressed upon us that we're taking up her time unnecessarily which she can spend to chit chat with her sales girl (a young malaysian girl, but alas - gona be badly influenced with her attitude exactly the same as her mentor!) so visit 1 (mid may): met friendly Agnes, impressed, took dimensions & promised 'shall be back' visit 2 (3rd wk may): intended to confirm again measurement, then place order but aiyo! Agnes not around & was served by 'Auntie-No-Good'. pushed off my order therefore visit 3 (end may): Agnes on duty & placed orders with her totally >1.3k of prodts. mattress - asked for info but kiv visit 4 (jun week 2): 'Auntie-No-Good' again on duty when we went down after seeing Aden's info on 50% mattress sales. AGAIN...Poor Service! on this visit 4, we realised our previously-ordered storage bedframe has actually gone up! but on the newly appreciated price - 'Promotion' tag there! ALSO, the previous prices quoted, during our visit 3, for those mattress seems to be lower than all which are on Sales! as the sales personnel is the undesirable one plus the mattress' prices discrepancies, we decided Not to place any more orders. jus hope those which we ordered come to us in Gd Condition - we gum xia Ti Gong liao!!!
  22. wa...pretty bad it seems!feels sorry for you! it's gd to hear feedbacks like this to filter off companies that do bad jobs, provide lousy after-sales services, irresponsible, etc - so can saves time by narrowing down searches for reliable firms! whether it's jus a personal opinion or watever, to me it doesn't matter since there are quite a number of available choices around. myself has engaged coolserve (thru a renotalk forumer's gd comments here)& my units are all up 17th june, jus last fri (originally promised date @ 30th june but got it earlier instead ). shall see if all're good since my sis & kaki are awaiting for my feedbacks (& its not jus for air-cons only) to do up their new flat coming jul-sep, respectively. But i would say for my AirCon guys, fm the very beginning (hunting for em in a rundown industrial building along joo seng) till end of installation, so far so very gd! - been thoroughly Impressed, fm the cool but friendly technical mgr mr.lee to customer service ms.celest to installer ah hock (n his 2 other men)...solid by far! now the more important thing is: Air Cons ok boh after usage? shall report my feedback here after months, n hopefully it would be positive kinda! meanwhile, Garfieldhello, really hope your fellows take a serious view of your job & rectify em soonest. i/we shall be watching...
  23. hi happy! oh u bought fm BCE at blk 214? wat are the items and r they cheaper...? i went there couple of months ago to enquire but disappointed not to find em competitive as compared to Mustafa Cte or G.Ah.Bee. jus to be fair - yes their prices definitely can fight those big boys like courts, etc. however i may decided never to step into this shop again cos they can be pushy. during my enquiries' session, was insistently asked at least 4 times to furnish em my address with his opened receipt book & pen readily to write on it. then there was also 'a fair bit of effort' by em to ask for 'a deposit' committment. dun feel at all comfortable but still for those satisfied customers, it's just my personal but truthful opinion no offences! BUT come mega sales' time, those big guns can definitely throw out better pricing to 'thrash' all these small timers. so m i glad to know of such for courts currently...shall check it out tomorrow or day after and hopefully to fish up some great bargains! also are there any news as to Gain City Expo Sales? i heard their coming pretty soon? cheers!
  24. hi hi bro kopi can count my kopi treat in? can kindly furnish me with your kdk + fanco contacts as well? bro, also me got few ques/ probs: 1) got false ceiling installed in my 3 rm hdb living area. Is installing a ceiling fan probable boh therefore? (spouse would love to have one) 2) if ok, what are the suitable brands & its models that's left for me, since its going to be low? (somehow my id got the extra support added-on jus today only upon hearing my last min's ceiling fan request 2 days back) gum xia gum xia...!
