Mabaricows, it's v nice! The use of strong floor tiles' colour is bold. With the lightings thrown down plus the smartly-chosen furnishings in place, I thinketh this living room had been very Tastefully done up! Yes it is probably The Only One of its kind here in Singapore any can find, n it's uniquely beautiful!

Hi All.. Am New Here. Where Can I Buy String Curtain?
tuasbird replied to sgbdk's topic in Home Furnishings
For those who r keen n staying in the west, can go to kian seng (or teck) at clementi central, opposite the food hawker centre, for a look see. Walk walk there last week n if dun remb wrongly, for 1x2m or 1.5x2m the rsp is $20-30 n the price goes up for a wider width (but of cos). Mostly in one solid colour kind n they do carry a variety of choices. Been to Joo chiat ccomplex weeks before too n their string curtains r a mixed of 2 colours kinda...very nice but cost somewhere fm $80 onwards. Hope this helps -

Hi Shawn! For my hob & hood, got the package price at citygas as $648, down $30 fm the previous year's. The sales auntie there, however, gave me a 'very special price' of $610. At that point, I thinketh the $10 is her final 'defence' so presumed this Hobz set to be just $600 if can bargain thru successfully. Unselfish RT forummers here commented G.ah bee, n on way to my new place I did drop-by n guess wat? The exact same set/model is sold there at...$535 nia!!! Needless to say, On liaoz as delivery all incl! Btw, I oso wana comment on the delivery guy (hobz's) - he's a hokkien -speaking uncle, very friendly, very careful with my purchases, very approachable!

Hi new! Been drooling over many Fantastic & Beautifully designed homes here in RT since I first signed up in June! Yours...one of my personal favourites n is way beyond my imagination on how a top notch beautified home should look like! The positionings, the cleverly-matched colours n lightings, furnishings' designs, the nicely chosen decors / accessories, those wonderfully (self-) drawn artpieces at their right place respectively... It's simply WOW WOW! Yes u may say it looks 'simple', which is the 'power' of it all...Simplicity is Beauty!

Hi bblifeiz! Me just went there but 2 rows of shops along r selling mostly clothings n few beverages+food lei... There r less than 3 shops not in operation so can't be so 'timely' they closed on d day uncle go pay visit ma I mayb missing something?? Anyway at the street besides, Arab St, there is a shop San Marca selling accessories, eg. Necklaces etc as well as some Buddha portraits, vases. It's v 'oriental' n though not to my taste, some of ya who love such can go have a look lor! Medium 7-11's size shop area only, note Along north bridge, between Arab n Bali lane, another called posh collection is located. Looks similar to xclusive at jalan besar but lesser varieties. Yes can find colourful vases, etc there. BHG at bugis seems to be a beta choice with the aircon + larger collection Hapi hunting!

Hey dun mention!...jus had the same 'confusion' solved leas than 2 weeks ago so while it's still fresh in my mind ... -
Oh but of cos u may not have shifted it. Me jus sharing cos of experiencing such encounter resulting in 'fly fly' $$$ notes lor

Wow blue, it's nicer in my personal opinion! But one thing for sure, I do agree with all compliments here: the dining design n colour + tinted mirror + the very well-matched painting jus WA, BEAUTIFUL la! Another thing to note: I always tell my wife not to shift any 4-legged table alone to do cleaning. Reason? Well, shifting the table or rather 'dragging' it does not do good to the furniture itself! The other end which r not being lifted may have the structures or screws, etc 'Stressed' & thereby causing tear to the piece. It'll be kind to get another Hunk to float the furniture while shifting

Activation Of City Gas
tuasbird replied to archenemy's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
Hi arch! Yes there would be round 2! 1) run the gas pipings on first appt 2) connect the gas hose to the hob + activate gas flow Cheers! -
Hi Blue! I thinketh the art piece is Very Beautiful! I second incubator's compliment...it Completes the dining area! However just a humble question: have ya tried to position the Art piece in alignment to your dining table? I understand the dining table placement cos of the necessary allowances needed between the 2 classy white-lacquered chairs & the elegant black tinted mirror. Though this ended up the table been 'off' from the concaved portion of the wall, it looks pretty Stunning still! But should the portrait been centralised on this wall, from the photo shown, it may sorta create a minor 'mis-positioning' if looking in line with the table. So I'm just wondering lor but just my 1 cent's worth opinion....mai angry hor )

Hey Autumn, congrats on getting thy new home! Well my parents got the exact same marble design flooring. My dad, during the 70s when he got the flat, thought it was cool & go ahead with this rare But mind u...Expensive marble flooring! Result: did not fancy my mom cos she feels when cockroaches or ants come by, the flooring did some assist to their escaping due to the camouflaging colour lor. Myself? I thought other than my mom's concern, which I'm fine with it anyway, it was Uniquely Artistic! Another good thing - at age of 12, I tried 'defy' my mom by ironing my sch uniform on the board using the traditional but Heavy iron. The iron fell off the shaky board n dented a 50 cents' size hole on the flooring! ...even if I tell ya the zone, I bet no one would ever be able to spot this Dent! So it can be good too in the sense! But comes to furnishing, thinketh blacks/ whites/ brown is to my personal liking with this kinda flooring design. U may like to hack em off but do it only if u already catered for 'hidden costs' of not just renovation but those furnishings + decors lor Say if ya still constrained by budget but the flooring doesn't appeal to ya or cast doubts... My humble suggestion is: Hack It away first, then sacrifices some luxury items to come at a much later date lor! Cheers!

Second edenstrauss' comments on mr Yang Feng of yi mei xuan! V nice man to talk to
-
Hi edenstrauss, ransoma! I'd passed by a shop specialised in framing at clementi the other day n saw a nice Buddha portrait displaying outside. It was golden n brownish n was really nice! However the price given by the female staff (boss or his wife I believed) was a hefty $480! When I asked for best price, she mentioned '10% discount' with a smile. Still way over for me for a 60x90cm art piece. Location: clementi central, between uob & kopitiam

Hi lemontee! Sori for d late response, been v occupied w those shiftings Cut ribbon & started my LG washer dryer 4 days back...it's fine! Works pretty well as my previous sumsung brand BUT only much more quieter, less vigorous while spin-drying or tumble drying & the poly musical tone much pleasing to my ears! Then again it's brand new & majority of brand new items works well! However if this can surpass the 3rd year, I think my $799 buy for this v worthy liao

Looking For Mr Chew (doing Curtains) Contact Number...
tuasbird replied to madrose's topic in Home Furnishings
Sorry to hear that singababa! Understand where ya coming from... I may have related curtain chew's engagement as 'too smooth sailing' here. It is not, matter of fact. See, bro chew has been 'introduced' by RT, but honestly there had been couple of times I had second thoughts bout engaging this man by hunting for other options. Reason? - same as wat most would have experienced during this period - rubber timing or no show no response kinda from the man himself. Even my spouse mentioned I should look for another back up In case I gana 'aeroplane', n I think she is giving uncle me a pre-eruptive-Nags' warning... Allow me to briefly relate my experience w bro chew: 1) I tried contacting chew during the 1st week June. Wet works like flooring only done for living. I called 3 times n the first 2 calls was self-terminated. 3rd call - picked up n said 'busy, talk again' hung up! 2) a day later, called him again. This time he told me he'll 'arrange next week n inform me again' 3) a week later called him on mon 9am. Was told 'maybe these 2 days come n see'. 4) came next day, talked on the phone for 20mins outside my door before coming in to show me materials (patiently) n gave advices (patiently). Then took measurement, drew curtains in a corner of his A4 paper amongst his other clients', wrote my address beneath n bye bye. 5) was instructed to contact himself once my grilles r up, windows all cleaned. On the day he took measurement, my place was a flat w floor tiles nia on the surface. No paint, no carpentry, no furnishings, no lightings, no nothing. On the day he came, my painters have completed touch-ups, my carpenters done w their work fully & r probably in Hawaii sunbathing, lightings shining bright bright, my ceiling fan spinning fiercely, my sofa n bedframe sitting quietly in position, etc! How long does he take? Well me not really into the checkings & countings but it Is v long! But when comes to anything relating to his expertise, he did Marvellous! From giving advices to choosing materials to workmanship to end. But yes...the downside is The Wait,...& his inability to adhere to the promised appts. My style-cum-tips if chew is your only choice: don't press him that hard, 'give flexibility', talk nicely still
