  1. Does anyone know where i can get Berger Paints (for HDB Interior walls) I like few of their colours but i don't know which shop carries them and also some of the shop only carry the gloss paints
  2. Actually it's the small2 things that adds up the cost. Like, wanna do kitchen, must buy cooker, buy sink, get citigas do installation yada yada come up to $2000 already. boohoo
  3. So far my progress for the house: Cleaning up of the tiles done Setting up of basic lights done have engaged a contractor to do up my window grilles Things to do really soon: Finalise our Kitchen Contractor Get our Cooker and Hood. Get more lightings for the living room and dining area Get our paints and tools
  4. The other side of the kitchen From the service balcony The filthy service balcony. The cleaned version of the service balcony after my scrub-a-dub episode that left my arms aching.
  5. That was where our TV was supposed to be since the Cable point and stuffs are there but such an awkward place to put the TV and the sofa, no? Kitchen: We're gonna put our kitchen cabinets at this side of the kitchen with the sink and the cooker cos i feel there's more ventilation.
  6. Some clearer pictures of our house: We went to do some scrubbing and cleaning on the kitchen and toilet tiles cos it was so dusty and i didn't want the dust to settle themselves too comfortably and make it even harder for me to scrub it away. Living Room: This is where our TV and Sofa are gonna be. The view from the dining area. We will be running the TV Cables from the other side of the room to this side instead. HDB designs seriously s*cks sometimes. Like, why would people want to put their TV set near the window and the sofa so near to the door right?
  7. Quite true! My wedding preps are quite relaxing actually and so much more fun than dealing with contractors. lol
  8. Oooh you are at Bukit Panjang too? My cash not so much lah. lucky i get from HDB if i get resale flat, i declare myself bankrupt first.
  9. Yeaaah i was just a bit lucky to get a low queue no and i dopn't need to pay for the COV. With the wedding and stuffs like that, i don't think i can afford the COV! haha I was enjoying the wedding preps until the flat comes by. lol

  12. Hey hey! Thank you!! My reno won't be so detailed. I'm just gonna repaint the house, do up some carpentry and get in some furnitures slowly to make it a home.
  13. Some pictures i took from the iphone. Pardon the quality. Will take better pictures tomorrow! Our Living Hall, where we are gonna put our TV console and sofa etc. To the left is our Dining area. I will be repainting the doors. The current colour is hideous. lol The entrance of the house, from Kitchen's view. Kitchen - Sink Area. We'll probably keep the tiles for now since it's pretty new and we can save cost that way. We will be keeping the toilet tiles too since it's new from HDB. Just need some cleaning up to do.
  14. Prior to this, when we got in the house with HDB Technical Officer, we pointed out the flooring may need screeding as we will be putting laminated floorings. Had a heated argument with the TO cos he kept saying "it's like that one." On my 2nd appointment, i told the HDB officer about this, they gave me a form to sign and hand it over to my Branch Office. Easy peasy! The HDB Contractors have just got the floorings done yesterday and the floor is all nicely done up. Will post some of the pictures i took when we opened the doors again.
  15. Decides to open up a T-blog and document our house reno-journey. First off, please do not expect a lavish renovations cos we will not be even taking any ID and Reno Loan. Still sourcing out for Carpenters/Contractors to do up our house. It's gonna be a very exciting but tiring journey together cos we are also planning for our wedding in October. Money is gonna be oh so tight during this period. lol Timeline of how we managed to get our lovenest: August 2010 - Applied for the Sales of Balance Flat at Bukit Panjang October 2010 - Got our queue no. No 49. Quite exciting to get a low queue no. However there were only 43 flats available. December 2010 - We got our appointment letter for 1st Appointment. Went around the few flats available to recce. 18 January 2011 - Our very 1st appointment. So excited when we finally get to choose one of our top picks. 23rd January 2011 - 2nd Appointment & collected keys from HDB
