  2. Hihi!! Do you have another photo of your living room taken from the red chair? Noticed your LBox does not surround the whole living room. I wish to see how it would look like. Planning to do the same for my place as my ceiling is low and my air con has to recess into the Lbox. Thanks!
  3. Mind taking a photo? 1. Regarding painting your outside wall colors, you can at most ask your painters to repaint an exact blue on the walls. At least your home walls would look new and nicer. Although, actually you have to get a permit for that.... 2. With the new blue, you would sort of mark the territory between your neighbours' and your house. So when visitors come, they won't be affected by your neighbours potters. 3. Before you request your neighbours to remove the plants, you have to build a relationship first and find out how they are. Never ruin your relationship with your neighbours or you'll regret your days staying at your new place. It's really not worth it. That's the sad things living in HDB where HDB allows plants to be grown along the corridors except that it will be removed if there is evidence of poor maintenance and risk of dengue mosquitoes breeding. the owner will be seriously fined as well.....
  4. WOw, i like your idea of getting them to paint the pipes a darker color! Will take that in mind for my renovations.
  5. Hi, so what happened finally? Did you get the contractor to repaint all the walls and ceilings? And you didn't like Lily white because it's different colour from your false ceiling? Yar, it's sad that we are at the mercy of the contractors. Maybe it's my work that i tend to be more careful with emailing and texting. When i ask a question, it will not contain an answer for the person. In this way, he will have to reply. We learn new things every day.... Don't worry. it will be a blessing in disguise.
  6. Hey, we have the same tiles color theme for the MBR toilet! using the darker color for the shower area as well. Nice!
  7. Hi Neighbour, i'm staying at Serangoon Ave 3. You have a very large space. I like your layout! Spacious!!
  8. Even Aircon trunking requires early planning. New things learnt. 1) The water trunking can only go horizontal and downwards from your air-conditioner. 2) the trunking starts from the bottom of your air-conditioner, not the top. 3) only the gas trunking from the compressor can go high up to the ceiling. After indepth planning, came up with this trunking route. The air-conditioners contractors got so confused initially when i tried to explain to them at the site to get their quotations. In the end, drawing the diagrams helps. After spending so much on renovations, at least the trunking must be hidden.
  9. Hi Readers, Any advice on water pressures? Anyone using rainshowers in HDB? how's the water pressure like and whether the bigger the storage heater, the stronger the pressure? I have also initially planned my plumbing this way. Discussed with Terence but it would incur more cost due to more materials and takes additional 2 weeks. gave up the idea.... here's the original plumbing. My proposed plumbing but gave up.
  10. Hi, i just checked your blog. DIY! cool!! I was looking at your router connections and will be using your idea to hide the cables. _________ Hi hi, I used the same tiles! Got shortlisted by me but price abit steep so I gave up! I think he will do a gd job for u so I am following yr blog...Nice 3Ds...
  11. Hey, may i ask how's the water pressure in Serangoon Ave 3? i'm thinking of installing a rain shower and after reading lots, i realised installing a storage heater only increases the water pressure by a bit. If the water pressure is low, the storage heater will not help. Any thoughts?
  12. Hi, anyone used similar tiles to the ones I'm going to use for common toilet? The black and white wall tiles with checkered patterns.. Picture was attached in 2 posts earlier. I'm quite scared it may trap dirt and algae more easily than normal tiles. Any advice?
  13. This morning, went down to Hafary with Terence to choose tiles. My kitchen floor tiles below, and Common Toilet Wall tiles!! My Living Room/Rooms floor tiles and MBR toilet wall tiles.
  14. My 3D drawings is out! showing my living room!!!

  17. Hi Neighbor, All the best to your Reno. By this weekend, I would be finalising with which ID/Contractor to work with. Getting all excited. But reno is costly... so far my quotation is 42K without electricals and aircons. $$$ heart pain.
  18. almost forgot to mention that i got Long Tian Xiang Shi Fu to help look at the fengshui... a very friendly grandpa with standing long eyebrows He gave me 2 restrictions and one conflicted with my cove light... bye bye cove light. Today went down to IT fair and bought 2 TVs! Samsung UA-46D6000 for my living room Samsung UA-40D5000 for my MBR TVs are really cheap during IT fairs!
  19. finally i have spoken to a few ID/Contractors and told them what i wanted over the weekend. After talking to them, i realised some differences: Differences between Contractors and IDs 1. Contractors don't provide much design advice. They require more of your input and they are more reluctant to go for something different. Of course, they'll be much cheaper than IDs. 2. IDs don't like to hear too much specifications on what you want. They only take in the most critical and then draw out their designs. They don't like to follow your detailed specifications. Now i'm waiting for contractors to come back with quotations and IDs to come back with their designs. Very tiring weekend. Here's some of the photos of the current condition: Living room Living room Kitchen MBR Bedroom 2/3
