Hi Potatoes I will be laying tiles for the steps and doing the cement and full glass. Yes, budget is a big problem and we struggled very very very hard to make this important decision... hahaha..

My goodness... i am contemplating to choose this Elkay sink too! Now i really wondered how alike are both our houses... I agree with your contractor that the sink should stay top-mounted! My friend had all his taps undermounted... guess what... moulds are forming and they renovated only 1 year ago! They changed their silicon twice already! Is this mixer from Grohe too?

Hi Kobelala, My vanity top is marble.... I told you we have got very similar taste! I LOVE that marble. But the downside is they dun cut to sizes, so I need to buy one whole slab at 5ft x 10ft! It is not cheap and the labour charges is even worse, higher than the slab itself This will be the talkpiece of the house.... in the end, me & hubby got the craziest idea... this will be the 2 vanity tops for the toilets upstairs and the remaining slab we are going to cut into a dining table top... so in the end, we need to custom-made a table stand to hold that weight...

Hi Kobelala... Anymore pics? Actually i hate the posting of pics here... took up a lot of my time... Your bathroom wall tiles look very familiar.. if i am not wrong, I nearly opt for it too.. my tiles are from Hafary. I will be posting my "empty" house shortly. My buddy told me it looks nicer than the one before hacking

All my hackings are approved!!!! lalalalalala... I am so happy... I told my hubby and he msn me "Finally..... pocket big hole finally" Keeping all in suspense....because if we are able to hack the walls and extension of the toilet...it is one of our major expenditure! Thank you all for your help! I did what you guys told me, call call call , be nice, ask them about their day, their health, their job etc etc...

Hi Kobelala, I will also be doing the cove lights at the stairways , thats why i said our houses are very much alike!... wanted to display a very very nice chandelier at first... after much careful thinking... i think its better to be practical. I saw your stairs.... its wrought iron... and u spent 6k?? is it becos u used parquet for the stairs? By the way, a very important piece of info i need from you... did you plaster the ceilings and walls? i was quoted 1650 for the ceiling plastering and 2000 for the wall plastering.... am in a dilemna now..

Thanks!

Nay, hopefully not as what you say! hahaha... The quartz u mentioned are homogenous, thats too expensive and also slippery for stairways..Mine is ceramic tile.

I am extending abt 800-1000mm i think...and yes, when we applied for permit, it is meant for dry area witha drop of 50mm on the floor to prove that it is indeed for dry area. i will be using cermic tiles - black with glitterings for the stairs and glass..just like your picture top left. i agree its not cheap at all.. total cost ard 6k for this overhaul

As I am reading your T-Blog.... i am astonished! We also bought Grohe! They are very good bcos my first house is using Grohe and the mixers never ever give us problems and you can really feel the quality and also the shine after 10 years of usage. We bought Grohe again this time without even considering other brands Going back to your blog again... Really feel like asking for a special invitation to your house...wahahahaha

Kobelala I see that you also did an overhaul for your stairs, me too.. I chose to lay tiles and using glass for handrail. Was quoted around 6k.. How about yours? Very interested in your blog as we have about the same taste. I bought a 55" Sony LED Tv too!

Thank you guys for the welcome! Am not too happy because I am completely mentally drained! Hacking for the third day now and still awaiting for HDB final approval of a wall. The application was rejected and I appealed,it was rejected... So i did some modifications and hope it will be approved! Extending my master toilet but due to waterproofing issues etc etc, the technical department HDB didnt quite approve... that is my dream toilet and thus my dream wall to be hacked....

Hi , I am doing a major overhaul of my new EM too... I got 2 contractors and was quoted around 85k in total. My brother in law is doing fully aluminium kitchen cabinets ( so the price is a bit higher here) The other one is a contractor and i like his service a lot... he went to my site 4x before actual reno started...
-
I used to work for an aluminium supplier which supplies all the aluminium grilles and profiles... pm me anyone who needs contact.

Hi Joyous Congrats on your new-buy. Can see that you bought a mansionette. Me too.. Btw, have you gotten any ID or contractor? And how much is your intended budget? Just want to have a feel whether my budget is too low or too high...
