Kitchen cabinets are up, since I don't hv a store room, I decided to build a full height utility room opposite, with fridge with washing machine hidden Don't hv that many items, hence omit top cabinet. easier to clean too. Well why should I then engage them with such rude respond? Its obvious that they hv turn down the offer, but in an offensive manner. Btw helping hand respond was rather friendly than elite. Customer service is rather important in getting a deal, offensive respond by front line staff for a big company is definitely not worth to consider.

I would like to knw usually how long do contractor usually reply with a quotation? I went to two reputable one recommended thr renotalk and was really disappointed with their no respond attitude. Does it means if my reno only starts after chinese new yr, thats why they dont see a need to respond urgently till nearer? I still need to decide whom to select, till now i have yet to see a single quote. Hmm what is wrong? Maybe is it becoz I dont need to do common area floor tile, quotation no longer seems attractive to them to serve me at all? Or it is common for them to only come back to me in mths time? thats kind of long to me, I am expecting not more than 2 weeks.

Extend The Fibre Optic Cable

It can be extended. You need to purchase a SC/APC to SC/APC patch cord that is long enough to extend to your room, but note no bending of the patch cord during the installation in the trunking, it will cause signal loss. You can either install another TP point (box like the one opennet installed with APC/SC coupler) or you can just patch the patch cord to the ONT (end device provided by service provider). basically, when u signed up a fiber broadband, they will issue you the device and a patch cord cable (yellow cable with head at both end). what I am saying is instead of using the short 1m patch cord provided, you extend the patch cord distance to your room. One end patch to the port 1 of opennet point, start running the newly purchased long distance patch cord cable thr thrunking into your room without any major bending to the cable. End your trunking near to the place u like, then with the end of the patch cord into your device. this solution will minimize the number of connection point and then lower the signal loss risk. Ok a bit too technical liao..... thats part of FTTX technology. -

I intend to engage two contractors, one doing flooring/electrical, painting and another specialise in kitchen cabinet/wardrobe. I need advice: 1. How should I co-ordinate between the two especially at the kitchen area. etc untouch space for kitchen cabinet work,wall tile..... I am not sure how do one do up the tile and cabinet, it seems both are interlink at some point. Will I face a prob with both contractors? 2. Think wardrobe should be much simple right since it just need to be done up after completion of flooring and so on. Am I right? 3. Estimation cost of kitchen cabinet and wardrobe? 6K and 3K each is enough? I am looking at blum system like hinge for kitchen cabinet, without servo. 4. Pls intro some gd kitchen and wardrobe contractor to me. Heard classic furniture is gd, but I wrote email to them with no respond at all. Thks.

Care to share yr view? Here are mine when I view resale flat without agent: 1. Check online for amenity, north south facing, any haunted history before even decide to view 2. Choose to view during the warmest timing to feel the house is warm or nt, else look out for sign of seller turning on aircon or fans. I hv seen one with fans in kitchen n is still warm. Touch the wall to feel it yrself. 3. Wall and ceiling crack, sign of water leakage. Sign of container to collect water leakage, even met one with aircon leaking. 4. Condition of fixture such as aircon, kitchen cabinet, flooring if intend to reuse. 5. See owner reaction to yr viewing, I even met one family looking troubled n don't dare to look up. Later I realized they actually own ah long money. 6. Any owner reason for selling, just to see their reaction. 7. Check the corridor wall to see any patches of new paint, I call it artwork.... To see any sign of ah long paint job. Proceed to check lift level too. Sometimes TC didn't do a gd job n u still can see the unit number. Check our that unit to see if it is near yrs. anyway with ah long appearing in that level, don't buy ba. 8. Check neighbour's door n grille to see sign of repaint work, could be neighbour own ah long or yr unit u visit. Is a trend nw that they splash artwork at neighbour. 9. Ask any LUP, HIP. U don't want to end up not knowing u need to pay extra for lift. If HIP, u can save some renov cost. U can also go to notice board and check out. 10. Ask neighbour around, left right top n bottom. They will tell u abt more. 11. Buses available , market n coffee shops are important too. So walk around to explore. 12 if really like the unit, go for another night visit to check out environment at night, such as safety So far this is what I do, that's my personal view only.

Thks so much for the info. BTW, I have another query out of this topic. Is abt viewing flat under cobroke. Wonder if you hv any advice. I realised that it is difficult to view flat for seller agent that has many cobroke partners. I browsed thr iproperty and property guru and found the same unit of many agents (cobroke). So then I went ahead to call up the first listing agent (hopefully it is the direct seller agent), but nvr pickup nor reply my call at all. Are they trying to force you to call up their partner so all can hv a win-win situation for seller and buyer? I read up someone posted here that for such situation, you can just go for viewing with the cobroke agent and if really keen to buy the unit, just approach the seller direct. Is this really a good idea? Seems like these agents are controlling the market, is rare to find one seller agent that don't mind dealing with DIY buyer. I would like some advice how to deal with such situation if I really want to view the unit. Thks.

Hi, I have some question as I intend to DIY to buy resale flat, appreciate if anyone can advice: 1. May I know as a buyer, do u buy over the val report from seller? Or seller just give u a photocopy set for yr online submission and is FOC? I did call up HDB, but they stated as long as is it prepared for the transaction, seller & buyer to sort out who will be paying for it. I nearly bought a flat but didnt go thr due to COV, so sort of spoken to seller agent on this and she claimed that she will safe keep the photocopy set and bring during first apt in case I have forgotten. So I am curious to knw how does this val report works for DIY buyer? Buy over as original set or is free? Both buyer and seller need it right? 2. The seller agent told me if I am keen to buy the flat, we can exercise the OTP straight away without 14 days. So am I right to say that OTP expiring date and time can still be 14 days away but buyer exercise and sign immediately on that day. Is this the usual practise for buyer whom has already decided to buy the unit? Seller agent told me that max of $5K is required as most of them are paying the max in the market. Is this true? My friend ever told me to check the owner's IC to match the OTP form, else not, deposit is gone. 3. Is the validity of HLE Letter is needed during first apt? As in it is still valid when excercise the OTP, but expire before first apt.
