Tell him u haven't signed, what he want to order and what permit he want to apply?? You haven't signed anything so you are not in the wrong, you don't hv to compensate him anything. Don't let him pressure you into committing with him. If you aren't comfortable with him, change another one. Not worth the headache and trouble later on.

But his is supply and install leh....if you get from outside, nice ones also cost around 300 range...then if he cahrges you installation, then i think would amount to abt 450 too...unless you get those not so ex ones...then u ask him how much he charges you for installation of the sink.... your kitchen is exactly how many ft?? The measurements you posted i duno how to see leh...

Then aircon installation and trunkings will be done by gain city so no worries...i got mine from them too....i find that they did quite a neat job for my aircon trunkings... wow....prices have really gone up...i remembered that time my wardrobe was duno $120 or $160 per ft Actually for practicality, no need to have too many downlights lah..cos some u will find u hardly turn them on anyway....alot of downlights are nice lah..cos it casts shadows everywhere but long run, not practical to on each of them everyday......do only the essential lightings....

Trunking is usually done by the aircon contractor....so no worries on that....get from reputable companies of course....dun go to dodgy ones... Ya agree with xinyi that electrical points are a killer also...mine all in all abt 1K+....if you have alot of downlights then chum....

I think everything shd be written down in black and white even if he said clearing rubbish is free....cos some firms so charge for clearing the debris...don't assume..Get him to write down items that are FOC also...better be safe than sorry... Oh electricals not included ar.....this is a major part of the costing also leh....some can go up to 2K.... And installation of lightings?? bathroom accessories (shd come free)??

From the looks of it, the cost looks quite reasonable except for the supply and installation of water heater....$600 too much lah...

Ehh fifi, dun be afraid....you are paying 10 over thousands for your reno...it pays to be more vigilant of the quotes.....not 10 over dollars leh....not happy, revise until happy then put down your big name......my reno was like that too...my quote was revised like 4 or 5 times then i signed....then after that, drawing revised 4 times until my ID emailed me to tell me cannot revise anymore cos take up too much of their time.... Ehh u post the quote here lah....i'm sure you will get a lot of responses one...

Y so weird cannot give hard copy one?? Then how they expect ppl to know what goes into the quote?!?!

Then u get the contractor to write down the measurements of each carpentry work.....then u aga aga see lor...they don't want to give u the price but at least you have th right to know how big or wide your carpentry work is going to turn out right? then from there, u judge whether they overcharge you or not...

seriously hor, $600 abit too over the top....if he wants to charge installation, at most only $100 to $150.....how can escalate until $600??!? Or maybe he quoted you other items very cheap liao...then this part he earned a bit..

Mine was Ariston 30L...cost me $220 that time.... Installation comes free i think.... $600 is helluva lot leh...where got so much one?? unless you need to re-run your pipings...

I'm using electric sotrage heater....i guess the diff is in your bill in the long term..gas of course cheaper.... but i'm not sure of the safety issue..... the one that citygas gives free is instant or storage?

I realised it too late leh....not gian bng lah...u paid 30 over thousand leh....and that price includes all the weding favours...if i know, after my dinner i will take one big box and sweep all the leftover favours into it...
