As work piles, owner was rejected with a nice gesture of free design of logo and layout plan. Owner returned asking for opinions for quotation he received, price was slightly steep and since he was seeking help in everything, we decided to take it down and help him through this renovation. Pergo and supreme are long time brands since last time. Being famous does not mean that other brands are lousy, just skip china products as overall brands are ok. Right choice for kitchen, laminate flooring has too much negatives in being the floor for kitchen, like water, oil, heat etc. False ceiling for whole unless you like having downlights around, depending on the design intended, the only reason for half or portion ceiling only, would be the intention to segregate visually the intended spaces. Spotlights would be too glaring for residential, only used for shining on intended items to attract attention. Indirect lights creates best cosy ambience you would need. Wiring are usually a seperate cost as electricians are another group of people. Try not white but off white or cream, usually do not recommend white in ID term as it would be too 'cold' unless the whites are intended to be as 'invisible' possible and having attention of other spaces or items. Usually carpentry uses plywood and they are ok as long as it is not exposed to heat and water. Solid surface for kitchen tops if you have a budget. Yes rain shower are not cheap depending on how much you have in budget. If its just laying of tiles go straight to balestier suppliers they supply and install. No difference, big tiles looks nicer and grand.

Always check the background of company. If the quotation comes out ridiculously cheap; other then providing cheap materials/labours, it is usually contractors wanting to use lumpsum money for other purposes. Always check the company background or the person him/herself before committing.

Grab that deal. Hard to come by if the items stated are all delivered.

There are always a good reason for difference of words if you mentioned ID or contractor. Main difference of the both I can think of... Downsides for ID - more costly then contractor Downsides for contractor - does not give professional advise eventually creates more problem to redo thus delay of work - does not provide design which designers are graduated from years in school Nevertheless, I always thought of owners have natural talent in design of designing their homes and willing to spend their time running up and down to coordinate construction issues(if they know), choosing contractor would be a right choice.

Paint colours depends on the theme you like and it's personal. I personally recommend black/white theme with a touch of striking colour of maybe yellow, red, blue etc.
