to remove rivets just get a batt powered hand drill with a 5mm bit the drill till the top of the rivet goes into your bit. quote name='user123' timestamp='1314327681' post='663628'] Hi, I need to put up a casement aircon. My window is push-out type, so it does not have a railing to hold the aircon rack. The only place to use, is to sit on the sliding grill. It's a 2-piece grill, means if I were to put the aircon on one side, then both grill have to move to the other side permanently and I cannot access to the window, which happent to be a place to hang out laundry. So I have to remove both moving grill, leaving the grill frame intact for the aircon to sit on it. Question is, how to I take out both grills from the frame? I see only rivets but no screw openings. If I need to remove these rivets, how do I remove them? Thanks for the help.

Plastering walls normally are very smooth... painter wont be bothered to sand the rough ares.... they dun care also you need to take note for areas for sliding doors towards the wall... it must be SUPER LEVELED. If not you will see ugly gaps... you really want to see whether job well done or not just buy a warmwhite t5 light and shine against the wall you will see everything...

Demolition Of Internal Walls (Store Room)
ben263 replied to jackychun's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
just see your floorplan... solid black line cannot hack... retangular lines can hack... but why you ask your id should know all these... if hack wrongly the structure of the HDB will be weakened... then you got to rebuild the wall followed by summons by hdb etc etc... -
your carpenter lazy lah... got to just do a cut-in at the back of the base... all carpenters know what to do when got skirting... they do not remove skirting... they just put it up with abit of adjustments to the base... the laminates at the sides normally installed last or at least that's what happened to my house... another method is to use the gap filler loh... but if your gap is more than 2 mm then your carpenter skill not that good...

Only certain lights needs special dimmer(DMX).. Example: 4p PLC can be dimmed... it's just the tansformer you got to change.. you see end result is what you really want ... If you need to install chandelier, then you will use incandecent bulbs because the light effect onto the crystals would be the best. If you are looking for LED to replace halogens, there is currently a few in the market.. dun need special dimmer... just the normal would do... (I am using a 9W Dimmable MR16 LED for my own house with a normal dimmer) just for your info... Hi, I was told by a Choo Chiang staff that dimmer lights need to have special ballast installed at the lamp, in order for dimmer to work. Another staff from a different lighting shop told me, as long the bulbs are non-energy savings type, the dimmer will work. And lets say if a non-energy saving bulb has an output of 15W.. and my chandelier/cornice is going to install 5 of these. Does that mean when the chandelier/cornice light is on, it is using 15W x 5 amt of electricity? That's quite alot considering the largest 'hamburger' light only uses 40W.. Thank you.

Any Good Electrician That Does Cat 6 Lan Installation?
ben263 replied to destinyfate's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
CAT 6 cabling price depends on the brand... LHS cables if from beld** then do not waste time.... Not good... I have used FTP for SMRT project and all failed the tests... After I changed to Tyc* it easily passed the test. Faceplate and jacks also plays a very big part.... You can get the normal off SLT couple of dollars.... Or you can get the professional brands. Punching the jacks are also very important. Most electrical installer i have seen uses a testpen and a cutter... But the better ones knows that using a 110 punch is a standard. My own house uses 12 core SM OM1 FO cable as back bone. And every part of my house has got a CAT 6 UTP and FTP cable network point besides the toilet. Ending with all points are punched into a Tyc* CAT 6 patch panel and all patched from a gigabit(1000baseT) switch. It all depends on what are your requirements. and how you would like your network to be. PM me should you need any assistance.... -

hi.. about shifting of balcony is possible... but you might need to redo abit of tiling and maybe change the frame of the sliding doors... if it's resale, ask the old owner for discounts and just go ahead to change it unless the drawing is not updated.... if it's new, developer should take care of it....

1st i would need a layout of your house because got no idea what you talking about.... dun worry i am not contractor but i renovated my house with a couple of friends and myself... 6 months to complete... my aircon guys curse and swear at me because they think that i am new at this... but after i curse them back, they did exactly what i wanted and I am very happy with the results... I think everyone wants an easy way out but as far as i am concern, i am paying money it's gonna be my way unless it's against the law...

ask your id... normally carpenter or painter can do it.... but make sure they do it at their own place not in your house. main issue is the dust from the paint....
