  1. Tough luck... They didn't even bother to reply even after 3 weeks! So I guess that's a big NO
  2. Hi, I am interested in the LED contact,is it possible to share with me.thks

  3. Can try emailing both Singtel and opennet to ask them to waive the $220. I'm trying my luck and still waiting for their reply. Beats not trying at all, right? I managed to get a very early slot and gotten Singtel to waive off all installation and connecting charges so I'm paying $220 at most. I must have appeared very 凶 to them haha
  4. Gotten the LED contact from a follow forumer (is there such a word!?!) and bought 15m worth of LED strip. Going to use 10m of it for cove lights in the living room and remaining 5m for either kitchen cabinet or wardrobe. Haven't decided yet. It's much much much brighter than in the picture. The lights are set to the dimmest and taken using iPhone HDR. Can't wait to see this in action! Also gotten a kitchen tap online that will compliment my 70+cm single-bowl sink. Love online shopping! No need to brave the weather elements to get it
  5. Dropped by to see the progress of the house and I'm pleased! Walked in to see that living tiles are mostly up, kitchen floor and wall tiles almost done, toilet wall tiles done! (I forgot to take pictures of the toilets) Window frames are being installed ( window-man's hair is even longer than mine!) Cabinet base and the low hollow-block wall. Not so keen to use a non-waterproof board so close to water-intensive places. And a nice gesture. We noticed ants crawling in from the refuse chute and notified Wee Kuang and when we came, we saw this: At least no more ants crawling in
  6. Got to adjust my expectations on the speed of the reno.. Looking at so many t-blogs and their speed gave me the impression that it should be speedy SO I just make it a point not to go daily to check on the progress. At least I'd be amazed at the changes between visits. Some updates! Went to Jalan Besar to get the essentials for the toilets and kitchen sink. Walked down almost the whole stretch of Jalan Besar only to be pointed back to Genova for their home-brand kitchen sink. Wanted to get a huge single-bowl sink that is deep enough for baking wares. Bought all from Genova during their clearance sales last week The famous Arino Caprio WC at 40% off (oddly, I didn't take a picture of it) MBR toilet sink at 50% off Common toilet sink Tap for both at 30% off Aluminum mirror cabinet to hide my barang barang Would have worked out to cost us $3200 instead of $2000+ if not for the sale!
  7. Went down to see the progress after a long day of work only to find out that there's a different padlock on the gate and no one's there at 5pm. Propped the wooden door open to peek in and realised subtle changes since yesterday. Wasted trip.
  8. My lastest deliberation: adding cove lights. Thinking of adding cove lights to only 1 side as I love the atmosphere cove lights give but I can't stand the dust. Which side works better? The length above the tv or the opposite side?
  9. Citygas heater during the roadshow in TPY also bought the rainshower set they carried during the roadshow. Figured that if Citygas carried it for their gas heaters roadshow, then it will work with them, right? Also gotten Mitsubishi Heavy Industries system 4 air-con for about $3500. 3x9000btu + 1x18000btu fancoils. Worth it?
  10. Already bought many things even before the renovation started. I'm a classic example of what you call a "kan-cheong spider". EF hood and hob from Gain City Expo sale Samsung washer/dryer from Gain City Expo sale Ariston oven from Mayer KDK ceiling fan (think I bought too big a fan )
  11. Kudos to Wee Kuang and his undying patience to such a fickle person like me. Think I've changed my mind many times over since we signed the contract for the reno (and he must hate renotalk cuz its the source of my fickle-mindedness) Day 3 - Hacking Majority of the things are out except for air-con trunking, some electrical trunking in kitchen and living and the windows. And the puny toilet which looks even smaller when everything is out of the way notice that the opening to the toilet is huge And on my way back, I saw the foam that will be used to raise my dining area to the same height as the living
  12. Initially wanted to sign up with Starhub for their fibre but when HB called, they said we had to liaise with Opennet to do the installation. My house didn't come with the termination point 'cuz the seller ignored all the letters from Opennet. Called Opennet and their "earliest" appointment is in March 2012! The Starhub representative's attitude was rather bad over the phone so HB told them straight that we'd get Singtel instead. Went to Singtel and they managed to expedite the whole Opennet process. Have to sign plan first then Singtel will help you book an appointment with Opennet. Now Opennet will come and install the termination point end November (have to pay $220 for the installation though)
  13. Jia you! My man wasn't very involved in the planning/designing stage so I can empathise with u. As always, renotalk will be there for u
  14. Hacking started on 1 Nov and today Wee Kuang received a phone call from HDB about neighbours complaining about the noise. Any suggestions to pacify them? Hopefully that won't affect the pace of the reno. Targeted hand-over by Wee Kuang to be 24 Dec but my own target is 15 Dec. I don't want to be at home packing on X'mas!
