  1. Hi Melancholic, Kindly share with me the contact as well. Or anybody who has gotten the contact share with us? TIA!
  2. Hi immunity, i'm looking for a contractor too. Kindly share the contact of your contractor via pm. thanks!
  3. Hi, Nice items you have bought. I'm thinking to buy 2 glitter lamp as well as my bedside lamp. And you have a nice granite kitchen work top. Mind to share the name of the indian granite which was used for your kitchen work top? As 1 of the ID i spoke to, told me there is no black indian granite in black. And galaxy is expensive. Also possible to PM me the price per foot if you know? I just want a rough gauge. TIA!
  4. I heard from my hb that dyson has very good suction, and they are bag-less, meaning use water. So it is more eco friendly.
  5. Hi, your house looks great. Mind if share with me your contractor, so that i may talk to him and decide if he is suitable. thanks.
  6. for my family, my dad bought a really big banner to cover our floor from a garang guni for 20 bucks. And that solved the problem of painting. Time wise, we did it over the weekends. And it is like a family bonding session where everyone of us put in the effort, and the result is satisfactory. Reason, since it is our home, doing it ourselves will make us treasure it more. And the feeling is very different.
  7. Well, for my parents house, we did painting on our own. That was repaint after staying for 11 years. So roughly did 2 layers only, with the same color. And apply to living room. We did it in separate days. Like ceiling, 1 half day, 2 person. Walls, also 2 person one day. Of course, may not look as good as professionals, but to us it is acceptable, afterall we are living in it. And it involves the work of whole family of 4. A good time for family bonding. When we moved to our new place, we did our own painting too. That took about 4 separate days for whole house, whole family involvement as well. At then we painted 3 layers for the house. If you have the spare cash, and you are someone who is a perfectionist, go for professional. If you can accept your own workmanship, then carry on then.
  8. i think there are a type of leather care for cars. My brother had one, and he sprayed on his car seats to maintain them.. And it does not stain clothes.. As i often wear white shorts or shirt when he gave me lifts, just that it got a little slippery.. especially, my brother does sharp turn, i will move from one seat to another at the back car seats, since sometimes i don't put on seat belts.
  9. From one of the ID which was recommended by my hb's customer, who installs aircon. He told us that if you want very cold aircon, have to increase the btu value. Of course, the higher it is, the ticks will decrease. And my hb ask his customer, and it is true. So i guess, it is hard to get a balance over there.
  10. yeap.. i agree.. And my hb always say, there is no lousy product.. Its just that how to take care of it and use it. Even for products that is under top notch brand, abusing it or misuse it will also break it. So, i think its true. My hb is in hardware line, his family business is selling those hardware like drills, drills bits etc. So he told me, even some customers bought top notch brand drills cost few k.. Just bought drills in the morning. and came back in the afternoon, claiming that the drill bits broke. Those drill bits are used to drill in metal. And they realized that it is actually misuse of drill from the workers.
  11. I don't know about other brands, but for my parent's mattress, from king koil. They have been using it for 11 years, even since we moved into our new house. And it still felt as new, so i guess it depends on how you used and take care of the item. Of course, i don't know the quality for king koil for now.
  12. Well, i think its up to individual. For me, i will go for looks, so will be all downlight, but no covelight, afraid for dust. If you think you go for looks, downlights and cove will do the trick. Sometimes, some things can't be done after renovation. Not really can't, but will be very troublesome. So can't really save on it. For downlight, you can choose better lighting brand like from philips. It is a tad ex then other brand, but Long run, it will save you a lot of money. As the amount of voltage used is lesser. Better still, LED lights but very expensive, again long run save you a lot more.
  13. So if we are going to shift point and add point, it is not considered as rewiring? And if add point, will tripping happen often? As i'm afraid of the point that the voltage will be overloaded.
  14. nice buy, i liked it too, but i'm looking for other material other then rattan, which is quite hard to find.
  15. well, what my friend did was to put her tv in the wardrobe. So, she has one column that is solely to place tv and dvd player, and the tv cable plug and electricity plug for tv is in there too etc. And she has a deep wardrobe, which eats into the other room. For your case, the next room door, you may need to relocate the door. You may consider this option. Else, create a small room for WIW, which will make your room a lot smaller, and the tv will be hang on the wall, but the tv will be very close to your bed. Perhaps having 20 to 40 cm space, which not possible to walk, else close up the gap to just place your bed only. Else, have a normal wardrobe , you place your tv at the wall that is beside the toilet entrance in your MBR ? And are you going to have dresser?
  16. no wardrobe in your room?
  17. Hi, i would prefer glass sliding door behind your bed.. as it will make the room slightly bigger.. And it will look exquisite, but the best is not to have any sliding door or curtain it will look better..Else built a partition from ceiling to floor that covers your bed length, behind the partition you may want to have a dresser or full height mirror. Mirror will make your WIW slightly bigger as well.
  18. Hi, i think for older flats, most storeroom could be relocated or hacked. I can't see from your map which wall can be hacked and which can't. For my new place, also a resales, from the map. Those with thicker walls, can't be hacked and those thin ones can be hacked.
  19. Hi Aron, i looking for system 4 inverter, can pm me the quote for mitsubishi or daikin? If one of the room is combined with another, do i need to increase the btu? Also, is there any trade-in of old aircon? Also intend to change the trunking. thanks!
  20. Hi, not sure if anyone is still active in here, but i have few question to ask. We have engage fsm sometime ago, and it happened that our tv console wall is our finance area known as cai wei, and i'm thinking of placing mirror that faces the tv console. Is it alright to do that? Anyway, when i asked the fsm that i would like to place some mirror in the living room, fsm says its fine, we can put it anywhere we like. For our mbr, when we lie on the bed, our feet will be facing the toilet entrance. Initially, we wanted to built a long partition wall, but now we like to just built a partition wall ju7st enough to cover the toilet. Is it fine to do that? thanks!
  21. Hi, for your concrete stove top, internal is carpentry built in? Which means, internally it is all in solid plywood? I had this question, as i have intention of doing this, but i'm still considering.. thanks.
  22. Hi, your actual reno bill $39k does not include the 10K for carpentry? So total 49k?
  23. Yeah, i would like to know what are the products are they having. At least the category, so that it will not be a wasted trip.
  24. Hi, my mum has been using glass hob to cook for almost 11 years, and we have no problems. My mum cooks almost every day or maybe sometimes 6 days a week. I do not know if it has to do with the brand. My mum is using Izola. I'm thinking of getting the same brand after my renovation starts.
