I got the quote from Harvey Norman and a couple of direct aircon contractors. It is about the same +-$150. All with 22SWG copper and 3/4 inch insulation. The question now is should I go with Harvey Norman or reputed companies like hongtar and coolserve? The reason I went to Harvey Norman was the 10x points (miles) on AMEX cards. That means a ticket to UK already for the amount I am spending on aircon. I am doubting Harvey Nrman for: 1) Don't know quality of installation 2) They want 100% upfront Any recommendations or any reviews? I tried searching renotalk, didnt come up with much. Thanks

Thanks for your replies indira and harleybrian83. We pretty much know what alterations, schemes we want for the house, hence not engaging any ID. But we r looking for a contractor\project manager, but no luck yet with any quotes etc. Another thing i wanted to check is how do i determine if i need false cieling? Is it purely for show? Can i put downlights without false cieling?
