I agree.. Logically, no wood can stand the area with high humidity, left alone the wet area... Its too much in stake anyway, water seeping, standing water can cause stain and left smell. Due to termite, you should check to the company whether they gave you this warranty, it needs special coating. But maybe you want to ask whether they warranty against biological growth or not. This is the most common thing to attack wood stuffs beside termites of course. Have you considered bamboo flooring? I am pretty sure bamboo flooring is passed all those obstacles.., you can check their websites www.styleline.com.sg They have better quality and almost similar prize, but maybe they are not fully well known. You are quite rite Alister, anyway laminate flooring use adhesive which also dangerous for infants and asthmatic people. The smell is not nice. It is also not so durable. Why dont you consider bamboo flooring? it is almost the same price but has warranty 20 years, no smell cos no VOC (so safe for infants and asthmatic persons) and the finishing is more natural and warm. I think you make a good choice may dream, because matt finishing has lower reflection which will cause less heat and glare inside your home..

I think the stain is already mixed between rust, and biological growth (mould and algae). Any cleaner will be no use I am afraid. I think it is better for you to change the tiles and check what happend to the sub flooring, maybe there is water seeping, maybe there is abundant mould infested there, dirt etc. After that, you may want to control the humidity inside the bathroom so it wont happen again in the future. If I am still doing my research in mould growth I will be more than happy to take sample from your place......ehhehehehhe Let me know the result alrite.....keep in touch..

Hi Guys, I think 5K is not bad for laminate flooring for 2 bedrooms, but maybe you wanna try bamboo flooring , the price is not too far different, I heard 2 bedrooms can cost S$ 3800,-. and it is given 20 years guarantee, which is very rare. Bamboo is much healthier (esp. for with respiratory problems), durable and stronger than laminate flooring. The finishing is also nice, you can see it in The Heeren outer deck. As you can see, the flooring can sustain outdoor regime, so they wouldn't have problem in HDB. We did it as well, and it is safe for our babies.
