Really ah? I always thought storage heater uses much more heat because it heats up the whole cylinder. So if you don't finish using the whole cylinder when you bathe, some of the energy is wasted. Should be the other way around rite? one bath using instant heater (15 mins) uses much less energy than 1 bath using storage heater.

I bought a Joven instant water heater. Supposed to be mid-range, not that cheap kind. But after using, realised that when I first switch on it will be very hot such that i have to move away. then after that the temperature will drop a bit before stablising. Do you guys experience this kind of sudden heat increase with your instant water heaters too? My previous home had the tank heating storage heater type, so didn't experience this before.

this is dumb but all i want to buy is a hairdryer. confirm got, but dunno whether worth the squeeze.

Yah, dun get tower fan. good to see, lousy to use. for sleeping, ceiling fan is the best. our ceiling fan macham aircon! shiok. mistral brand is much cheaper than kdk actually. but k*ng T*i doesn't carry it. thinking of buying from them, since got free delivery too. but they never return my call on kdk price yet. cheh.

Hi! Anyone bought vacuum cleaner recently? Can share if the Phillips FC 8716 is good? Main benefit to me is that it doesn't require dustbags (just a plastic jug-like holder than you can take out and wash) and has strong suction power. apparently uses some 'cyclone' technology which means that as the dust cup fills, suction power doesn't reduce, unlike other bagless VC. 2000W power with 400W suction (i think). And very 'advanced' looking VC head with side brushes. also not too bulky / heavy. Other brands considering are the Karcher (also bagless, but suction prob not as powerful since dustcup is small and doesn't use same technology). any vacuum cleaner advice appreciated.

yah we went best denki and the salesman said that kdk helps panasonic to make their fans now, so design very familiar. almost the same look, totally same functions, but kdk sells their model for $30-50 more. both made in malaysia. thinking of getting kdk without remote control, cos dun really need.

thanks - you mean screeching noise cos of the metal friction right? cos some fans are noisier than others cos the fan blades whirr very loud. something abt how the blades are designed i guess. yah we prob get manual button only, although those with remote also have manual rite? remote is just extra...

thanks guys.. yesterday i went courts to looksee, mistral seems best value for money.... MSF 40-4R for $128, MSF 160R- GY for $139. These are the ones with remote control. Those without, they even have $70 one. think about 16' to 18'. I dun need timer cos not for bedroom.... TDK is video brand oso right? i saw some KDK, which is the brand of my ceiling fans. very happy with ceiling fans, no regrets not settling for cheaper brand cos those very noisy. hiyah... think will keep searching.

Hi all... Anyone kind enough to share where you bought your standing fan from? We are thinking of buying two, one of dining area, one for study room. Ventilation is quite good but need breeze. dunno about bellari... think they have a shop at Jalan Besar near poh joo. I bought my brandt from this Hougang electrical shop. Goh Ah Bee. no showroom... think brandt is carried at Hoe Kee as well, so you can ask your questions there.

wow 2800 is truly super high end. prob as good as those in gourmet restaurants or perhaps theirs is much bigger. i considered techno when i was shopping but heard that it might not be so good. after sales service also not that good i think. so far brandt seems to be ok for mid-range (or maybe considered as low range cos only about 700-800 bucks).

still have no clue which vacuum cleaner to get... probably end up with philips but cannot wait for their sept warehouse sale... prob buy with vouchers from robinsons, just as well, no need to fork out cash.

I have finally used my oven over the weekend! Made brownies... To share something, I realised last min I had no measuring cup! And no converter from farenheit (on receipe) to celcius (on brandt oven)! My HP saved me cos it had converter inside. But cup I just agar agar and then think I added too little... supposed to be half cup, which I later found out was 120ml, but I think I only put about 100ml in the end.... time to buy a measuring cup!! super happy that I have a Red Man shop nearby, so intending to get all my baking supplies from there....

If you bought a kitchen sink from them they should give you the set-of-3 accessories free (straining basket etc). that's what they offer to customers sometimes.
