I like the sky roof structure u have in ur balcony. U have given me another option to think about apart from constucting an awning. Can the roof be opened? Till now, I have left my balcony void empty and looking at various options.

I agree with u, Spikedoll that Adidaem place always looks very spacious, neat and clutter free, even after 1 yr plus. I struggle every weekend to do housekeeping n packing. How much can be done with 2 teenage kids? I tried to set routines and set duties for them. Storage space is very impt to hide many of these stuff. I created a hidden store near the balcony to keep bulky items. Hope u have this mind when u r renovating.

The prices were crazy then. EM ranges from 700k to 850k. Some buyers even lock in the price before valuation report was up. Valuation in Bishan area was hovering around 650K to 700k a year ago. I also notice many of the buyers were landed property downgraders n therefore were cash rich....can't match these people on terms of COV affordability.... So we gave up!

Lol... No wonder your EM layout seems so familiar. I actually like your site coz the land is on higher ground compared to those on the salvation army side. A year ago, an EM which we like very much there was going for 850k but our pockets were not deep enough, so we gave up. U made a good choice

I had shower curtains before..... the cleaning part is not that esay.... after a while the yellow stains are difficult to clean.... glass panel is much easier to clean. Most shower curtain are opaque, but of course there r translucent ones..... not too safe to check on kids. Easy to check the kids as glass is transparent for shower screen. Although shower curtain looks pretty, I still go for shower screen. Just my 2cents worth

Hi Spikedoll, congrats once again.... this time for starting ur own t-blog. Your EM layout in Bishan is very nice.... Is it somewhere near to St 22? I ve viewed many units in Bishan before but the COV was enough to put me off. I love you layout, particularly the room on level 1 which can be converted to a guest room. The open kitchen concept is indeed a good one which makes ur place look even bigger. Btw, what is the area of your EM? I also like the 2nd balcony / foyer.

Just installed a 2nd air con compressor (single split Inverter unit) for my living hall today. The air con installer did an excellent job!

Totally agree with u.....I have no regrets doing up both bathrroms with shower screen.

1.5k is quite low esp when there r many high places to cover for EM. Ensure they quote weather proof paint for balcony....what abt diff colours? I was given a choice of up to 4 colours. Do u need to do plastering for your place? U will find many added cost along the way.....

In my opinion, traditional practices r just forms.....the Lord sees the heart. I m a believer of Christ too.... What do i do if i know my exowner is a Taosist n has Idols in the house. The Lord wants to bless the home. I m not sure if pineapple is mention. Salt as a symbol for cleansing could be mention. Whatever it is, as long as our conscience us clear n not to stumble anyone. Heehee

Wooh....view 30EMs? I think it must be a record. Didn't ur agent help u filter out those EMs that meet ur specification/requirement. I will make my agent do his homework to ensure he also selects those that matches what we want. I views about 10 units before deciding on the final one..... Already very tiring. Btw where is ur EM?

Did ur ID inform the neighbours about the reno works before the start of reno. Coz failure to inform the neigbours may lead to misunderstanding.,. I m sure most neighbours would understand.....

Ya lor....If only HDB Inspector had done their job properly. I had to incur $$$ to dismantle that platform.

Hi Split84, congrats on being the new EM owner. Ur Gen 2 EM looks well maintained. Indeed u can save on many big ticket items if u r considering on budget reno. What is the extent of ur reno? R u redoing the existing staircase?

Thanks for the info cleong, I didn't know the 150sqm include the void at staircase n balcony..... my ex-owner actually extend the staircase void and converted it to a usable space (I don't think it is legal right?). Hmm.... Neither are we allowed to build additional platforms at our balcony.....wishful thinking.

So fast started hacking... Must be a great feeling seeing the old torn apart and gone. Soon, ur dream of a beautiful EM will emerge Have a smooth reno journey!

35k excludes plastering, electrical rewiring, built in wardrobes.... Cost was 1 yr ago. My ID has since left the Co.....
