Aircon pipes problem in MBR Toilet... See the problem? Yep, Tiling works had to come to a halt because the aircon pipes running through the toilet to the other rooms are blocking. ID called in the aircon contractor, ID is willing to bear the cost of dismantling the aircon casing and putting them back after tiling is done.

My ID have to ask the workers to redo the decorative tile for my MBR toilet..... Wrong colour! It is suppose to be brownish not black. I like the colour combination for the common toilet... Yea, thx for your advice. I m using singel Mio wireless broadband. Is it that I just need to make sure I have at least one Singtel telephone point? Since I m using wireless does that mean I don't need to install phone point upstairs? For telephone, I m also using wireless, so base will be at 1st level. I m trying to cut cost on installing phone lines/points/ scv points. Mio doesn't need SCV points right?

3k for rewiring excluding lightings is quite standard. My ID told me he is only charging me1.5k for rewiring the 1st level and changing casing for 2nd level, inclusive of new DB, sockets and switches. Any additional points will be chargeable on top of the 1.5k. Got to add extra for oven, washing machine, dish washer and fridge points. I thought this is a good deal.

I like your the EM units in woodlands..... They r still pretty new, just over 10yrs, not like mine 25 years. I also viewed a few units there and almost wanted to get one from a friend but because it is far from my workplace and kids' sch. At least your current condition look excellent, so you need not spend too much on reno. All the best and have a smooth reno.

Thx for your advice. As much as I would like to rewire the whole flat, as cost cutting measure, priority is given to the 1st floor..... I got to check with ID if this is possible. Initial agreement was to keep the existing cables. Now that after hacking, 1st wires dangling everywhere..... I m now forced into a no choice situation. Hope something could be done to save my 2nd level cables.

How much does it cost to rewire an EM?

DAY 10 Today, we are into the 2nd week of renovation. Things are going on well so far except for a few hiccups which I managed to resolve with my ID. Of course there were things like that cannot be resolve, like installing a 2nd aircon compressor, which HDB will not approve due to electrical loading. Electrical rewiring is another issue. My original intention was to keep the existing electrical cables and only change the DB , switches and sockets. Hoewever, things aare easier said than done. The wiringwas messy after much hacking, makes no sense if we don't rewire. To make matters worse, these conduits which had rock sprayed paint by previous owner cannot be reused just by plastering over them. Sian.... Looks like cannot savage existing wiring. But, I will discuss with ID to keep 2nd floor wiring and rewire the 1st floor only.

I have decided not to relocate the WC in the common toilet on 2nd level. I feel the shower area will be a little too small. Instead, shifting the wash basin I think may be good enough. Hope my decision is right.

Thx for the information on the sewage pipes. I will check with my ID again. Is it very complicated to relocate the pipes? Need to drill another hole for the pipe? Anyway, I just tell him that my friends have done it!
