Updates! It has been a disappointing week. Nothing much has been happening except that the ugly pipes in the living room are gone and has been re routed to my balcony. Painting touchup was done. Window film will be installed this Sat.... I was pushing hard for this because being a corridor unit, I would want more privacy. Delay Is now due to window grills (ID gave wrong design), staircase (rework) and balcony grill. Hope things will speed up quickly..... I just want to close this whole reno thingy.... Very tiring

Thanks people for all your encouraging words For Joyous : the last time I moved house, it was 60 boxes. ... And not enough, so ended recycling them over several trips.... So this time, it think 100 should be sufficient. Now u see why I need a lot of storage space to 'hide' my things. My wifey loves to bake cakes, tarts and cookies. I realize she needed a built in oven as it ha a bigger capacity. Since we don't have a domestic helper, I decided to also get dish washer to help us do the washing of dishes. For footprint: thanks can't think of a better way to show that I still care for her. For Hafizh : thanks for your encouragement ... Reno is really tiring.... What is worse is ID keep doing things wrong and not to our liking. We have to keep pestering him to rework.... Sianz! Really do hope things will be ok without us having to top up..... Not our fault mah. ... Tomorrow they will complete painting touchup and tic tac doors for store rooms

For Incubator: Thanks for your encouragement. I wish it is already over. I need to time to do packing to prepare for move in. Manage to get Breakthrough movers to send 100 Carton boxes For Adidaem: The baking area which incorporates the breakfast counter is my present to my wifey. Although all along we do have tabletop ovens, I thought this time round, I would do up a built -in oven for her. The breakfast counter doubles up as a preparatory table for her to put all her baking stuff. Thanks for your encouragement, I look forward to move to my new place.

Thanks for the bigger picture. Interesting, notice u erected some wall and your kitchen design looks neat. You still have to wait another 2 to 3 wks before Reno can begin? Mine is ending soon.... Handover is supposed to be 3 sept. Now new deadline is this week.... Left with only stair case and grills. Can't wait for reno to be over.

Angelbutterfly, sorry to hear such stories esp coming from the ID you have selected. IDs always promise many things right from the start before u sign on the dotted line because they want to secure the deal. I m glad I have a good ID who is willing to endure our nagging and persistent request to redo certain things which did not meet our specification. We were also quote forgiving customers too, willing to accept only 1 draft of 3D design for kitchen and bathrooms. He couldnt give us the final draft though. The final product is what matters most!

Thx. I think u r right! People choose St steel for aesthetic reason. No wonder my ID choose St steel so it blend easily with my modern design.

Is your plastering major? I had to plaster the whole house because of rockstone from previous owner. Once plastering job is done, your wall will be super smooth smooth .... Wish u smooth reno in the coming week! Cheers;)

It is best to change pipes due to corrosion over the years. My ID chose to use stainless steel over copper pipes. Actually, which is better, st steel or copper?

I also ended the same thing as u because the window people also brought in the wrong aluminum grill. Is your balcony grill is curve.... I got my ID to install curve grill for my balcony.

We are already moving into week 8 of our renovation .... how I wish everything is over liao. I just hope that there would be no more hiccups in this reno.... as it can very very frustrating going through the mistakes made by ID. Yesterday, we received yet another unpleasant surprise - as mentioned earlier. I just couldn't believe that the grill that was delivered was the wrong design. Hahaha..... How could ID make mistake by ordering the wrong design after so many reminders. I managed to stop them today from installing the grills. I was thinking, it seem that the ID firm was lucky that I made time yesterday to "supervise" and watch them do the job. Isn't that suppose to be the job of my ID? Existing Renovation problems? Resolved 1. Staircase - ID has come out with another alternative, No more borders for my laminate wooden staircase. 2. The unsightly pipes - Rerouting of pipes that appeared in the main living hall, As I looked closely in the floor layout given by HDB., I realise the pipes can be routed from the bathroom to the new store room and then to the balcony. No more box up needed in the living room. Hooray!

Your EA looks very big, what's the floor area? I like your design with 2 balconies. The service yard is big and separate from the kitchen, really nice waiting for u to post pics of your newly renovated place.

Thanks. Actually, I wanted a complete white kitchen, but my wife don't like. So, mixed the bottom with golden maple:) The kitchen also gone through several rework because of dish washer and breakfast table .
