koikoi and allo, do u all find that the drainage hole in your kitchen is abit high? apparently mine is. then now the tiling got some prob, they cant do the floor to slope down towards the drain. next time wash kitchen have to sweep water down the drain instead of water flowing to the drain itself.

i think by june/july u and allo should be moving in already ya hahah!! ya most of the time we talk online. i think we talk online more than over the phone.

woah.. really so much diff before and after reno. i think my kitchen cabinet colour will look something like theirs.

we went back yesterday to check on the progress. false ceilings are all up all the tiles are here with new door frames, bricks for covering existing br2 door and half wall at study room. big heap of sand partition wall for WIW is also up talked to a few neighbours and visited their house while we were there. it was a great afternoon! tiling work starts today!

hi greycat, i'm not doing false ceiling in my study room but along the passageway to the rooms. oops see your msg too late, i met up with koikoi yesterday. maybe the next time can organise another gathering yup reno just started last week!

some updates from the reno.. wiring done, doing of the false ceiling removal of toilet bowl and basin actually i feel that it's kinda wasted that have to throw away the toilet bowls and basins but too bad that i don't like the colour. we also went for some shopping last evening, managed to get our aircon, fridge, washing machine and dryer. quite sad that we can't get the side-by-side fridge that we like cos of the tiny kitchen. we were told that TV no need to get so early, so we will leave it pending first. saw that a neighbour from the same floor also started their reno, but think they will complete theirs first cos they already started laying floor tiles.

hehe.. ya.. seemed like alot people also hack, else the MBR like very small. hey koikoi and allo, so is sunday confirm?

ya if do the whole wall need a few pieces. part of the reason we decided on the glass is to bring in light to the dining area. the dining area even during the day time also very dim hor..

hi koikoi, i was quoted almost 1K for half the wall size. ya lor.. the piece of glass cannot be too big also else also cannot carry up.

hehe.. ya supposed to only hack away one door frame, so now got two new free door frame. ya left 2 bedrooms, the studyroom wall is going to be replace by glass.

mine also leh.. too near to the lift already. my FH said that people can throw things into our service balcony from the lift there but i don't really like having grilles.. ya, if u hang clothes in svc balconay better to have the windows else after cooking then your clothes smells of the food. hehe..

hi mist, i went to your blog and saw that sticker you cut out. it's very nice saw from one of your post that you bought a bench from bangkok, can i know how you bring it back in sg? i thought of buying a similar bench from bangkok chatuchak market but it's so bulky so in the end never buy it.

we started our reno on monday. the hacking was done and the whole place seemed so much brighter. off goes the study room wall so is the wall between MBR and BR2 the workers hacked away all my bedroom door frames by mistake but ID said he gonna do new ones for us. met up with ID at the house yesterday with my dad who will helping me with the wiring. wiring should be completing by today or tomorrow. false ceiling will be up by friday together with the plasterboard wall for my WIW. they will be hacking the MBR vanity basin, common toilet basin and both toiletbowls either today or tomorrow.

ya i would guess the homo part means the entire tile is same colour

initially we also wanted to just have a smaller wardrobe and the bed in the MBR but find that it's too cramp, so we decided to knock down the other room and i can have a bigger WIW. hehe.. hmm.. there's a difference between homogenous and ceramic tiles. ceramic tiles if chipped, you will see the inside of the tiles is white in colour but homogenous tiles if chipped, the inside is still the same colour as the top layer.

hey... i was also also at the PJ nearer to the lavender side around 12pm+ too. hehehe.. mine is homogenous tiles. ceramic are cheaper lah.. so i won't choose ceramic ones.. hehe.. oh these are just sample size tiles for us to bring home for reference. my living room is using 600x600, kitchen and balconies using 600x300 and toilets using 300x300 tiles.

an update! today we went to select the floor tiles with ID at balestier. got a headache to decide which floor tiles to select. end up we selected the tiles below. all these are the sample floor tiles given to us. we also went to poh joo in jalan besar to check out. guess we will be getting the hood, hob, sinks, toiletbowl and other toilet stuffs from there. maybe next week we will be going down again to get all the stuffs. finally after a delay, our reno will be starting on monday! they will start the hacking on monday, wiring on the next two days and follow by ceiling works and flooring. !!

ya actually i'm thinking of going to ask those bigger stores see can bargain how much i had check some pricing with Gain City before, the pricing still ok. still deciding if wanna everything at the same place or not.
