  1. i posted some photos of my house with LED lights but i think my post was edited...
  2. Just to share here since everyone is talking about LED down light, i bought mine few months back from a direct manufacturer company at $48/set and it's working fine. I am quite happy with the result and their service is good too, the sales person explained very detail to me when i ask him many questions before i decided to give it a try. You can find their advertising at a forum http://forum.punggol.org/index.php/topic,15506.30.html i think their promotion of $48 has ended, but recently they will be launching a new promotion soon. I got the news from facebook, here are some photos of my house to share
  3. More carpentry work means more cost, you can try calling Melvin @ 96805660 for a quote. He is a very friendly guy, always smilling and giggling
  4. If you want to overlay tiles, you must see the spacing between your door or shower screen and the exisitng flooring. Usually overlaying will increase the floor height by around 1.5cm to 2cm, unless you decide not the overlay the shower kerb and door kerb, or else you have to dismantle them.
  5. I was in the reno line many years back, given your estimation i think you are not being ripped. So there is nothing to worry, worksmenship for installing is around $2/sqft, if you add the cost of cement and sand required it may add up to close to $2/sqft too based on current market price. Not forgetting your waterproofing, therefore this price is considered reasonable for the coordination and planning work done by the main con.
  6. try to look from here, hope you can find what you want http://forum.punggol.org/index.php/topic,15506.0.html
  7. You can try this guy, his name is Ah Eng 98510951. Hope it helps
  8. I went around looking for downlights and i was introduced to LED type, however the price was shocking! Untill i was told by my friend to visit this company, they are having a promotion now and the price is affordable. I emailed them and went to their warehouse to see the lights, the reply is very prompt and they provide 2 years warranty in which first year is 1 to 1 exchange warranty. Quite happy with their service and decide to share it, below is the link. http://forum.punggol.org/index.php/topic,15506.0.html

  10. find one with CASE and The Renovation and Decoration Advisory Centre (RADAC) membership, it may help if you have dispute. Good Luck *CHEERS*
  11. 1) Homogenous flooring tiles are poorly joined, edge can be felt, contractor mentioned "out of goodwill" they okie to replace and try to retify a few tiles...but now, it is still poor this may not be the worksmenship problem, it may due to the tiles. Some homogeneous tile have this corner warping problem, especially the cheaper ones that are commonly recommended by contractors 2) Carpentry - laminated poorly, quite alot of them had scratches from the poor handling of other workers, some areas are poor joined for some surface. You feel as if they had made poor planning while pasting the laminate, and they had to cut additional pieces to patch up. (this is made worse with our laminate design being those wood grain type, so its very obvious) It may be too late to change this now cause they may have to pull out everything, for scratches you can try DIY store and get those wood polish to make it less obvious 3) Wall Paper -Poorly uneven cut edges. poor silicon/patching of the edge to the floor. Some with air bubbles inside. this is confirm due to poor worksmenship, it will be worst during wet season 4) TV console - contractor mentioned budget is not enough, has to remove some glassed previously agreed upon. and the sides of the console now is raw, done with painting, and its badly painted, very rough and raw. this is unacceptable... 5) the list goes on... feel sorry for you you may also try to approach The Renovation and Decoration Advisory Centre(aka RADAC) if CASE cannot help. There are many renovation contractors in the market nowadays and some are really difficult to deal with. My advise for all is to find one with CASE and The Renovation and Decoration Advisory Centre registered, which as a member they will have more control over dispute.
