Hi SimEl, Welcome to RenoTalk. Spam #1 chop from me You place remind me of our old place too. Those pipes & bathroom kerbs. Are you planning to box up those long kitchen pipes? All the best in your reno. What will your theme be?
-
Absolutely agree with bro Cantona7 I got my Samsung fridge on the last day of their long promo and guess what the next month also have another similar promo Can also get cheaper a bit now.
-
Yes All the best oonik grl. If you are not sure on certain things, then just drop a message here..i'm sure everyone will try to assist. Just make sure everything agreed on is noted down by the ID/contractor and review at next regular meeting. P.S: If you need a good electrician then PM me and i can recommend a very reliable one.

Oh..no master bedroom wardrobe... then you should try to find out how much is per foot run on cabinet & wardrobes. If not too far from the market rate then next you need to decide what materials (be in laminate or more expensive veneer). Off course it would be best to custom made (rather than off the shelf products) your carpentry if you like to have everything fit exactly to your rooms. This is why it is more expensive. Yes, you still need to have extra $$ for the furnitures & appliances. Another cheaper way is that you try to source a good & reliable contractor to save cost if you know what you want. But it will definitely will take more time for you to arrange & coordinate everything. So time is money also in that respect. I do not know how is the pricing of your ID company compares to the more established ID name. Have you seen their project workmanship? If it is very good and above average then it may worth the extra cost if you are looking for great design & workmanship. If so-so only then you can look for more cheaper ID. ID services really help you to managed all the differenent sub-cond unit doing various part of the project. They will be responsible if anything goes wrong. Hope this help.

Last time (a few years back) Granite was more expensive, guess the popularity of solid top and wider range of materials & colors resulted in the reverse cost. Granite definitely more harder material so can last longer and can be quite nice if the color can match nicely. More information can be found in GnM Blog HERE

Hi GnM, Good to hear from you and your updated Blog. As usual you are great help to the newcomers.
-
Hi fteocs, The pricing is more or less around that range for an ID company cos there is a lot of carpentry and changes. Just make sure you get the good quality materials and better brand of solid top. The electrical is also quite reasonable. If you want to save cost then have less carpentry and get loose items from shops. Cheers

Yes and easy to open/close. In terms of more airflow think casement window is slightly better.
-
Or have the window design (casement open top & bottom...and leave the top always open) in a way that less rain will come in (unless very windy time...which you will have no choice). See eR1c Blog.

Hi xlan, ...me be the second to spam We choose wooden teak as originally wanted homo for all the bedroom. Laminate/Parquet will have a warmer feel to the bedroom and easy for kids. Guess also depends on your design of the whole place. Cheers

We also upgraded the black insulator material diameter to 1/2" (standard is 3/8") to avoid "sweating" which is condensation of water on the aircond casing and 16mm pipes (think it's the water pipes). Also try to make sure it is the Class 0 or 1 materials for the insulator materials. The issue is all these upgrade means better protection but your casing will be a big bigger in size to accomodate it. Also try to have no joining of copper pipes in area where you will hide the piping/casing (e.g behind wardrobe) in case leakage and easy maintenance. Cheers

Thanks hencpu. My only complaint for the 17-40 is it's not fast enough at F4 and the newer faster wide angle lens (16-??mm) is a bit too expensive. You can look out for the new 40D when it launch soon Here are some more pics of neatness..

More pics from yesterday. Replacing new Air-cond ... Air-cond insulator pipes... Air-cond copper pipes..
-
Thanks hencpu. Well to have this big living area must settle for older flat . Using 17-40L for all wide angle shots.
