Hi, May i know which Lookz branch did you get all your items? Cos when i went to the one in Balastire Rd they don't know much about the ovens they sell..some more have to read up the brochure and say can do baking and not much helpful . I ask for quick explanation on some oven and ask where is their main agent so can see more range...got reply from the sale lady that "it's somewhere in Singapore" and she went on and serve another customer...i went and gently walk out the shop and decided to find another shop. Not very good customer feedback from me.

For those planning to get the 8th Generation Plasma TV from Pioneer...all i can say is it's going worth the wait when it arrived here locally. The black levels and colors are so amazing from comments so far... It's definitely the new King of Plasma and a walkover over competitors. The Pioneer PDP-508XG has just been registered with PSB I think this is the 16,000:1 contrast ratio and 1365x768 resolution model. Full HD resolution is expected around end of year worldwide. I just post comments in another forum about first hand user experiences on the 8G Plasma from Pioneer. User comments are here in AVS forum... Looking forward to this screen here locally Here are some pics and comparisons. Pio PDP-508XG (pic from XtremePlace forum) Pio 4280 Vs Panny 58PX60U (pic from AVS forum)

Hi LinDa, You are right there...once you watch the movie you may want to watch a few more time but definitely not more than 3-5 time. I also like to spent $$ on my clothes too (will go shopping this weekend ) Yes, you are correct also (wow you very good leh ) in that the pic posted above got a bit more blue colour, this is due to the setting of the Plasma TV changed to Dynamic Mode (hence all levels pumped up!). The main point is you can see the image more details (due to higher pixels)..eg the hair on the nose and the eye details. Here is an original on Blu-ray, played @ 1080i, scaled to display 768p More examples... Reign of Fire...look at the ugly edge-enhancement on the SD version! (SD) (BD) Young Gun... SD BD

DVD vs HD DVD/Bly-ray I got this from another forum on Ice Age II clips on comparison between SD DVD vs Blu-ray. All shots cropped only, no photoshop editting. See lots of differences SD DVD, played at 480p, upscaled on Pioneer 5070 to 768p same shot on Blu-ray, played @ 1080i, scaled to display 768p

Definitely see some differences. Will try to find some example of DVD vs HD screenshots for you to see. Sitting distance also play apart in it. Ideal maybe 2-3m. As for the format war...may take a while before someone womit blood....if you do not need a HD player then best is to wait...however you are missing on opportunity time to enjoy your favorite movies in full HD... I got PS3 cause can also be my game console and the cheapest Blu-ray player on the market. Blu-ray defintely has the edge as there are more and large movie studio company supporting Blu-ray now and the disc are using their full capabilities. Good that there are not too many titles else may have to spent more $$$ as each HD disc is not cheap compares to DVD.

Thanks. POTC = Pirates of the Caribbean Even see big difference are the HD DVD or Blu-ray when watch on HD TV . "Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series" (6-disc) is awsome

I think he may mean 2307 which is close to around $900 (last i check last year). Don;t think can get 2807 at around $800. Agree with you too on B&W speaker goes nicely with Denon amps which are more punchy... Reason why i was eyeing 8001 was due to my projectors as i has 4 HDMI in while the rest are only have 2 in. Yes, sorry for spanning here. Can always go to my Blog.

Nice Amp the AVR-2807 for music. Maybe can look at 2807 for a few hundred more. Better still Marantz SR8001. These are the two i'm eyeing on What's your budget for Speakers?

Nice shots lurgee. You are full time photographer? Which camera are you using...Canon? Love the composition with the pink rose

Nice living room you got there ahnah . For you is ok as your couch is against a wall. Mine is in the middle of the living & dinning so no place to put standing rear speaker. Most ID will against the isea of bulky speaker in the living room and prefer in a dedicated HT room. But where can most Singapore home afford a dedicated HT room
-
Thanks bro for the info. Agree with you too. I really like the floor standing speakers like 603 & GS20 but it just can't match with my TV console (long stretch type). Guess will have to listen the new B&W 604 series when arrived here and ISE show.
-
Agree with you also..

Budget around 3K for the 5.1 wall mount rear speaker. Looking at B&W MT-30 or Anthony Galieo round satalite speaker. Just want to check anything else that others would like to get for a decent HT & hifi sound. Thanks
-
Which one would you recommend. Preferable not the floor standing speakers type even though the sound is more full and complete . Thanks

Another PS3 forumer . Great stuff with your shopping...are you more on games, movies, music or all..

Hi Enci, Normally quotation will exclude accessories and quote labour separately. If you can get "loose item" say from Mondi then it usually is cheaper. Reason why most do customisation (knowing tht carpentry are very expensive) is due to the size & dimension variation from the mass produced item from shops. You can drop by various shops and most accesories items are very competitive priced (except for branded & special features items). Full house re-wiring electrical & lighting points cost varies from different electricians. For a licensed electrician for a 45 light points cost (incl labour) about $3-3.5K. Yes, it can be an expensive costs if all add up with furnitures, appliances, accessories, electricals/lghting and any customised requests. So best is to have a true budget and work backward from there like what Sumobear mentioned ealier.

The wall decal is really nice Small recess area because your window is small right
-
Yes, though i was going to enjoy the Blu-ray movies (got more than 30 already and still more coming from Amazon ) on big screen every night and with forumers. Well looking for next best thing . Wow you got 427... this is the best plasma currently and i'm sure it looks great . Let me know if you need any nice movies (recommend Apocalypto or POTC) to watch on your 427. Cheers

Hi bluberi, This is a nice idea as it make the window area very neat and at the same time highlight the scenary when the window is open (hope your outside view is not block). What we are planning for our MBR recess area under the window is to have hidden storage cabinets for books and small items.

Hi Enci, I agree with sumobear comments. As for your quote...this depends on the ID company. Are they contractor type or those expensive ID company. I find some items are very expensive (e.g install pedestal toilet bowls, feature wall, MBR wardrobe, painting whole house, etc..) and some items are ok. Ask what kind of materials will be using and price range of tiles to choose from? I have PMed you more details on things to check and expected price range. Hi Enci, I agree with sumobear comments. Good thing you did not go. Not really worth the "pancake". Looks like a family outing for many and worst is see all the kids/baby in prams squeezing between those jam narrow lanes just to beat the 2% GST. Yes, the 700H range got very good specs over the 70H. The 42PV700JH is another 1K more at $3,200 so similar price to Pinoeer 427. Still want Full HD ...preferable in Plasma . So will see how the new 8G Pioneer cost when it launch...otherwise will settle for Panny TH-50PV. As for the hidden 100" projector screen & projector...majority (wife & ID) think it's not matching for the living room design & deco ...so KIV for now

Some are from MEGA and some are from Best Denki (as they give 5yr extended warranty). Will need a bigger fridge cos we cook a lot Will be wall mounting the dryer by inverting it and it will be on top of the washine machine. Today also finalised the tile selection by choosing from Haffari.

Hi Cantona7, Went yesterday and was as about to purchase the following TV: - Sony 46X (quoted at $7K + PS3 player + 5 yr extended warranty)...RRP was $7999. - Pioneer 507 (display set under 5K, or new set at 5.5K) but have to hold back till next show in Sept as they could not hold my stock longer as my reno will not complete until 2-3mths time. So will wait for the 8G Pioneer Plasma !! when it release in 3mths time and hopefully more lower price & newer model. Was also tempted to get the Samsung 22inch top of the line monitor at $529 but got doubt on some confusion on the type of panel that was the talk of town with Samsung panel at PC show. The Panasonic 50inch also was having a great offer price $3800 with $$$vocuhers (retail is $4999). So in the end went home empty handed after having to mangle with the crowds, jam parking & stressful driving. How about yourself?

Yesterday decided to choose the following as need to confirmed the dimension for the design. Fride: Samsung 2-door silver color. Not having the water & ice dispenser as we hardly use it. RRP $1699 but managed to get it at $1500 + Samsung promotions. Washing Machine: Fisher & Paykel top loading 8.5kg. RRP $798 but managed to get it at $700. Dryer: Fisher & Paykel 5kg. RRP $498. Thanks for your comments as will make payment today. NEXT shopping for Hob, Hood & Oven. Sofa.
