No problem and thanks for the info & link for everyone to benefit Good focus, perspective, lighting & post processing are the tips for good pics. Good selection of lens is also very important generally. P.S: Canon just announced the most anticipated DSLR camera (the 40D) for US$1299 which is a very good buy considering it's specs & features So for those interested in getting into DSLR or needs a faster 6fps this is a good choice to consider Here is the link for Canon 40D

We using Burmese timber strips for more durability. Understand from ID that all natural wood flooring will be vulnable to termites but if you are on high floor like me than should be quite safe. Used laminate before and yes very prone to warp and not good when rain or water touches for a long period of time.

Hi ah_kiat, new tiles are always shiny (except matt type )...challenge is how to maintain those shine (unlike marble which can polish again) for next 5 years. You can always redo your reno to marble next time but expensive. Thanks Air.

Thanks keltic. Wow you also have lots of carpentry coming also..in fact more than mine (i have no bedhead or platform, no side cabinet). Yup will take a while to fixed all. Carpentry are the most expensive in renovation. Mine is neighter laminate or parquet but is a wood flooring. I'm not sure if laminate needs polishing but depends on the types. Your place is very nicely done up.

Look at the shines on the floor.. Kitchen with paints for 2nd coat after the carpentry...can't wait to see the carpentry fixed

Finally got a quick chance to look at the whole place without the protection floor covers. Looks surperb Need to cover again for the light fittings tomorrow and carpentry soon. This is a nice suggestion & design by our ID (Irene).. More pics see HERE

Agreed on the wrinkle in the medium-long term. That was my main issue although i did found a solution that flat TV would retract up from the TV console...but $$$$ I would have no problem as all the wires will be conseal in false ceiling.
-
For my case .....paint 1st coat first...then sand/grind wood flooring...then 2nd coat paint. Would you all be concern with dust from sanding stuck on the wall before painting? Would it be adviseable to wipe the dusty walls prior to painting? Thx

Hi Was thinking of either retractable screen or fixed screen to go with my design but i just could not find feasible solutions and within my budget...so in the end have to drop the idea. It's quite difficult when don't have a dedicated HT room like yours. Now i think it will drag even longer with the latest news that Paramount and DreamWorks Animation Each Declare Exclusive Support for HD DVD So best to wait for affortable dual format player. Ditto me too. Just seen Bourne Ultimatum. action packed...

Ok at least i do not feel that bad then. Would you still buy if it was $3900+GST in today price. Thanks for the tip on glass maintenance. Any idea if water mark will stay permanent?

LCD or Plasma TV
lifestyle replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
This depends on your requirements, room size and most important your budget. Plasma -------- If you watch a lot of SD local channel than definitely Plasma is much much better than LCD. True color reproduction is much better in Plasma screen. If you are planning to watch lots of movies & sports then LCD cannot match the smoothness of the Plasma. New Plasma these days are less likely to have burn-in these days due to improve technology & features. Image retention for a short while is possible though. If budget allow then go for Pioneer (best screen & more customisation & calibration features...7G only 24p) otherwise can consider Panasonic (24/50/60p) or Samsung (higher contrast). LCD ----- If you need something smaller screen (less than 42inch) then only LCD. If you need full HD resolution (1920 x 1280) then LCD is currently less costly. P.S: Fully agree with what redbottle mentioned above. If can wait then wait till Christmas time where there are many many new models launching and price should be very favorable on todays best screens. -
Yup, good selection of lights you got there

Cool !! Nice color combination & comfortable chairs too !!

Extra half feet is ok mate...i think it's better to have more than less table space in case you have a small gathering. If you find it too long than why not place one end of your dining table against your glass wall and bring out fully when you need it. This is what we are planning to do also. Have you decided on your dining chairs?
-
Yup. It's aluminium finishing. length is 1.8m, i guess slightly longer than your table from the pic you posted. Just have to work and save a bit harder to paid off the shiok items

I got it during last day sale at special price of $2800. Yes, it's very expensive but this is the one that really attracted me with nice designer piece & clean cut look !!
-
Don't remind me of the $$$$.$$ Today discounted price is $3900 Was told is was a steal and great price from a famous designer... as in Europe it cost >EUR3K. PM you details if you interested in it.

Hi deepakvali, Thanks for the info. I almost had a real cinema at my place but have to last minute drop the idea as want something more homely environment for the daugter and it clash with our design. Was looking at OSI screen. Future upgrade definitely How's your place? Got PJ? Yes agree with you that for those wishing to future proof best to have HDMI 1.3 as we see more & more devises making use of this.
-
Thanks Christine. Glad you like those international mag...you still interested in the local magazines?...i still got lots of it and may need to sell at really cheap. We like clean cut design How's this dining table in dark grey glass?

Clearence is the boss and his staffs (Patrick, Dennis and ???) are great. All are very easy going and give very good advice for your system purchase. Great that you have LCD for general viewing & big screen for Movie nights !! Is the projector in the living room?
-
Very nice new Washine Machine model. We also got similar oven too. I never seen this fridge before...very interesting. Is that color black or charcoal? Projector....nice big movie watching....i always wanted too. Are you going to have fixed or retractable screen? KEC place is where i frequent there a lot too...they got great service, competitive prices and lots of regular satisfied clients coming back for upgrades. Very nice modern design WC...might be a bit over our budget...thx. Btw, where is hemsley located? We also find the accessories for the kitchen sink to be very good from Frankie. Did you buy them?
-
Very nice buy you got there. Love that WC...may i know how much and where to purchase that. Looking for similar design but not the conseal back type. Nice bed & the front thingy (dont know what's the name for that). Must need a big bedroom like yours to accomodate. We also bough similar Frankie kitchen sink (the square type)...quality, design and promotion price is very good. Yes using wide lens for my camera so that i don't need to do any stiching !!
