  1. Carpentry arrived today ...lots of it Kitchen...
  2. As they (M*y*r) are unwilling to replace until check first (which is further delay till next week for delivery), so with the help of the shop where we bought the product, the delivery man rush down to Changi warehouse this morning and exchange to a new piece and upon checking it does not have those manufacture issues .
  3. Wow buy 4xAA batt and get 2 bit of wine...good deal
  4. I prefer the picture output (according to my eye) of the reflective panel of the PV70 as compared to the non-reflective panel of the PV700. Also not really need 3 HDMI yet as 2 is enough for now and the SDHC reader (nice to have) and PIP capabilities. Not really need the SRS sound as got a better HT speaker system. I went with the PV70 mainly also for the all black border and cheaper price. The features PV700 has over PV70 are: 1 ) Contrast Automatic Tracking System (C.A.T.S.) 2 ) Picture Mode: "Auto" 3 ) Smart Sound Speaker System 4 ) Speakers: Woofer (80 mm round) x 2 (L, R); Tweeter (23 x 100mm) x 2 (L, R) vs Full-Range x 2 5 ) Audio Output: 31W ([13W + 2.5W] x 2) vs 20W (10W x 2) 6 ) SRS TruSurround XT 7 ) SDHC Memory Card Slot 8 ) HDMI Input: 3 (1 front 2 rear) vs 2 9 ) Multi Window: PIP/PAT/PAP (2-tuner) 10) Anti-Glare screen
  5. Totally agree with applefreak. Let your eye & budget decide. Some tv features are also not effective if your viewing area is not ideal e.g too much light reflection etc... Also what are the programes you will watch most on your TV...local, DVD, HiDef? Most of the time you can only tell the difference when comparing side by side the two tv using the same source and cables. But once you get it in your place you will not be comparing so trust your eye then what everyone said as individual view are very subjective. Just an advice, better to get a decent exteded warrenty for expensive tv (eg at least 3yrs....Panasonic comes with 3yr while Pioneer is usual standard 1yr unless retailer add the extended warranty) if getting especially non-made/assemble in Japan products. These days electronic items are not long lasting as the older generation...my current Sony trinitron 32" CRT is still going strong after 8yrs. Some say lifespan of tv these days is around 4-5yrs but proper maintenance & luck will see you more years.
  6. The Maxtor 1TB cost $550+ while the 1.5TB cost $750+. I have 2 of these now and yes pictures does takes up lots of space and you might want one as a hot backup (else just burn on lots of DVD).
  7. I went with Panasonic plasma & lcd this time as to save a bit and wait for full HD Plasma come mainstream next year or two then will consider upgrade. Thanks Warrior88. Yup these models all look so sweet and many others.
  8. I wish i bought all these but will be very expensive invoice ... settled for only one Plasma & one LCD, ext 1.5TB HDD & electronic photo frame :-) Did you get one of these handycam/viewcam?
  9. Received the Ariston hood together with all the glass hob and oven but upon opening the box found that got lots of marks...two dark long horizontal line (near button funtion) at eye level which can't be removed, stain & small dents and pretty sure is manufacturing fault issues. Informed M*y*r to arrange inspection & replacing asap as carpentry are waiting. On Sat Meyer promised someone will come down this morning to check...now today got this reception lady (I**) said next available is Wed for to look only...i told then why change of plan from today and not bringing new item today to replace as everyone incl the delivery persons agreed that should not have these issues for new unit. So got the shop where we ordered the product to talk to the M*y*r boss and still they still ding-dong amoung everyone saying in meeting and will call me (but all day waited & waited until some reception call me and she did not even know the whole story...and so start explaining again & again). Not a very good experience with this M*Y*R and their customer service. So my shop will help me by come and take it back the defect item this evening and bring to supplier tomorrow to exchange a new hood. At least will be faster this way but a lot of inconvenient to everyone. ---------------------------------- Thanks for browsing
  10. I'm not sure about your statement that "no hitachi owners knows about the flickering issue...". Seems it was quite a hot topic and now i believe after reading this 77page thread Hitachi issues that the fix now has improved the issues. Just stating what others hitachi owners around the world are experiencing. It may or may not impact your TV. So this is just for info.
  11. Hi everyone, i have the following items to sell (see Signature link) => Cellini small luggage, Electric Scooter & small b/w TV. All are new items & never used. Let me know (by PM) if you are keen to buy these items. Thanks & regards -------------------------------------------- Hi MaCe, PMed you.
  12. Hi TYM, 42PV70 is assemble in Singapore. 50PV70 is assemble in China where as the 50PV700 is assemble in Japan. All parts are from Japan. I alo agree with your observation & comments.
  13. Yes everyone i talked to also was surprise that price are not attractive at all Even the 50PV70 (best $4299) was higher than others quoted outside. Could be HN strategy. Best price i got for 42PV70 at Comdex today (1st day) is $2499 with all the freebies & vouchers. Guess most people would wait till last day and see.
  14. It's by HN as well but claims that the extra 4yr is work around $600. Guess you can bargain a bit more and i'm not sure can have a HT goodies?
  15. Hi Warrior88, 1. 3000:1 2. 1024 (Hor) x 768 (Ver) 3. S$3499 at Comdex show now with 5yr warranty (1+4 from HN). More detail HERE This price is 1yr warranty only if i'm not wrong. Comdex is giving 4yr extra and cover 1:1. No 8G at Comdex. Will only be launch officially in Oct.
  16. Agree on all your points but i have seen akira lcd and for me it does not suite my eye .
  17. Yes my friend got insider info also tell me Pio 8G may be display at Comex. Pio anytime for me too if budget allow.
  18. No problem. trying to give as much advice as possible as i went thru a lot in understanding all the issues and it's a big investment so decide wisely. Hopefully will serve you for next 5-7 years without any major issues. The 42PV70 is HD ready and accept 1080p at 50/60Hz and can do it at 24fps using PS3. So the same 24 as Pio but Pioneer cannot do 50/60. Not necessary to get 1080p Full HD panel (1980x1280) unless you are sitting 1-2m away from the screen or got money to spent. If sitting too close to the non-full HD you will see pixation. I will be sitting around 3-3.5m from my screen so most people at that distance will not able to see the difference between full HD & non full HD panel on a 50" screen. Even less obvious for smaller screen like 42". If i was getting a 42" i would get Pio 427 for it's great picture once it's calibrated (and i have seen the professional calibrated picture and non-calibrated version and it's so much difference ), classy neat glossy design & ISF calibration (you need to paid extra for this service) features and other customisation on settings. I'm looking for a 50" Plasma currently and although would like to have the 50" Pioneer 507XGS (with speaker on the two side) but i just cannot justified the price difference of $2.5K bewteen Pio & Panasonic 50PV70 and that a newer & more better Pioneer 8G model is launching in a few months time. So Pioneer 7G models will sure go down in price everymonth once the new Pioneer 8G model start arriving. So if u can wait and wants a newer (or cheaper older) Pioneer model best to wait a few more months Hope this info help.
  19. Oh that's what you mean. Sorry i though you mean the whole place is small. Definitely, if you want a WIW in existing room without joining another room then sure will be small. But the good things is sure have shiok feeling when choosing your clothes.
  20. Hi hadas, Nice renovation you got there . Love your toilet and the wall tiles and the pebble area. I'm also doing the niche hole for the TV & HiFi player. First to reply ...ahhh fire-ice just beat me by a few sec.
  21. I find the 50PV70 very good and almost close picturewise to the Pio 507 but have not compare extensively against Hitachi 9500 (as never really look at Hitachi). Which is better depends on the looks & feature you will use. Panasonic comes with 3yr warranty from Panasonic but i'm not sure about Hitachi (i heard previously it has also 3 yr)? Read some owner have experiences some issues with the Hitachi 9500 ALiS flickering (when watching near, but not noticed when you sit 3-4m) but others don't. The Pioneer 427 is 1080p/24Hz. Pansonic can also do 1080p/24Hz thru PS3. Which ever model you really have to go watch the display panel with various sources to see if that is suitable for you. When comparing models best is to use the same source (Local channel, DVD, HD DVD, etc..) connected at the same time to view both screens. Best is try to ask the sale person to check what is the setting on the tv...most will have some setting (eg contrast) at the highest. When buying display model make sure to write the serial number of the model you selected and check the number of hours used on the panel. Most (not sure about Hitachi) have the ability to see the service menu thru the remote. Good luck. I don't think you can get at $2.2K for a brand new set of Pio 427. The 427 display model last week at HN Suntec was selling like $2899..so my guess is around $3K+ at retail shop now.
  22. Yes you are correct alex regarding neighbourhood shops. But what the big retails shops participating at these shows will usually give extended warranty and other perks and more convenients.
  23. Plasma -------- I'm looking at Panasonic PV70 plasma model as it offer VFM with good picture (50PV70H = $3800 & 42PV70 = $2200). If you have the $$ then can consider the Pioneer 7G models made in Japan 507XG (around 5.8K). The 42" is around $???. Other alternative is the Samsung PS-50Q91H (RRP $6K). LCD ----- My choice will be: 32" - Sony KLV-32U300A (RRP $1299), 1080p proccessing, 1 HDMI, PC input. Good picture generally. Made in Taiwan. VFM. - Panasonic TX-32LX700M ($1599) - Samsung AL32R81BX (RRP $2037), get $338 HN voucher + Samsung gifts incl $499 HT system. Nice design tv and usually have nice gifts. 46" - Samsung LA46M81BX (selling at $6999 + freebies at HN Funan currently). This is full HD panel with the built-in tuner, 15,000 contrast ratio. - Sony KLV46X200A ($6999 + $400 voucher at HN Funan currently). This was a hot full HD favorite last year but understand there will be newer model coming end of year. Nice design. I'll be buying (Pio Plasma & 32" LCD) at Comex this Fri with a friend who also buying Pio Plasma so you can join us if you like. Maybe the more buyer the more bargaining power Shows like Comex, Sitex (at end of the year) are generally cheaper than what is available in the retail shops and usually have lots of freebies throw in. So if you need one or thinking of upgrading then head down there...avoid weekends as definitely will frustrate you with jam crowds & parking
