  1. I come to realised that there is no such thing as freebies in renovation. All the freebies are already factors in in their cost and your quotation. Best is to study individual cost of each items and how much markup they are earning. As for whatever freebies, ask for anything you feel justify For bathroom, ask for storage mirror cabinet, glass shelfs, hooks (these are very cheap anyway), mixers and/or shower heads, brackets (make sure stainless steel types). Ask for box up (using waterproof materials) ugly pipes if possible.
  2. We also prefer the leather sofa. Main reason being: - looks more nicer and more matching with our design & decor - easily maintained - less dust trapped - not so hot & sticky (as got the imported high grade leather) - used to fabric type for 8yrs already so time to change.
  3. Totally agreed with what purpledino mentioned. We got our ID to design the book shelf & storage cabinets and choose the color to matched our room design & color...but more expensive than ikea.
  4. Definitely cheaper but the hassel and headache that may arises sometimes can make you regret. Also if need to get several parties involve or rectify can be very time consuming.
  5. Nice high floor you got there Enjoy the reno. Yes haulage fees should be around $300-400.
  6. Thanks James. Yes we also agree it's a great idea.
  7. Here is the odd corners that i'm refering to. This corner in living room is fused together with the feature wall and the focus point will be more on the white glossy cabinet which in turn suspeneded from the black (yet to be painted) feature wall. This is daughter room which got lots of odd corners so will be planning to put some study desk. The side of the wardrobe will have a colorful children bed.
  8. Black glossy color is very nice and look very classy but stain/finger marks are easily visible so if maintenance is not an issue then go ahead. Corian are 100% acrylic and cost more. So if budget allows then why not.
  9. So which one is your unit Great to look back at the constructions from ground up. I also took pics of our place as everyday curious when your unit appeared.
  10. You bet mate she is jumping and running as usual even with the cast. Will definitely checked out the Chinese Garden....thx It's TAKI brand. Has good reputation and wide selection of glossy & matt choices.
  11. Hi Cedric, Your place is done up very nicely indeed
  12. Here are some pics during carpentry stage... Study table storage area for CPU, A3+ printer, paper holder area, etc.. Daughter room storage area for books & toys... Kitchen solid surface top...
  13. Hi Angelwrath, Yes please PM me the contact details when you have time. Thanks a lot
  14. h4happy, The veneer are usually for tv console & wardrobe (where nice fine feel is required). Where as abs trimming" are more for longer lasting (where constant access like study table or kitchen cabinets as will be more harder to scratch of edges compares to veneer finishing. Here is my "veneer" (tv console)...note not completed yet as the edges will be stained with matching colors... and laminate "abs trimming" (storage cabinet doors). Hope you can see the difference from the pics otherwise ask your ID to show you as what tingshen mentioned. Cheers Venner: ABS trimming:
  15. Hi BhongNCorrine, nice perspecive drawings. Wow your master bedroom is huge and love the bedhead.

  18. Hi Any one can recommend a good place to get nice roman blinds for the whole house. Thx
  19. Old flat walls can be a challenge for plastering. Some wall to have it smooth need a very professional worker cos of certain wall have big block of hollow blocks which can create bulging effects when you light shines on the wall. However some internal walls don't have this issues so can have a very nice looking wall. Always take precaution when you have lights shining on the wall as it will create unsightly bulge effect if no plastering (or poorly done plastering) is done. Similarly on the ceiling as well.
  20. Thanks for your kind words Christine Yes daughter is happy as ever !! ...you know how kids are. Confirmed no fracture on elbow according to the xray Just the common itch associated with casting. Yes, you mean that ugly looking kitchen pipes (long vertical and short horizontal) at the corner we boxed it up and at the same time have extra storage space This is how the internal looks like...
  21. Hi Christine, It's going great but a bit slower than what i imagine. Guess good things takes time. Lately very busy last several weeks with everything from kids hospitalised with casting due to fall at school to relative funeral this week. Delivery of M*y*r items got lots of problem with product defects (hood & oven) early in the week. Here are some pics during carpentry stage this week. Shoe rack with drawers for items such as keys, mails, etc..
  22. Thanks Cantona7, Greycat & James. Yup the workers knows we like to be neat & clean. No eating & smoking in the house, shoe off, etc... cos if any accidental damages will be touchup & may delay things. So everything must be perfect.
