Hi discoburg, nice design you have Mine final completed reno is very close to the 3D drawing so was really happy. As for the cost i think quite ok especially if you are redo the whole place and the type of material & workmanship you are getting. Our cost is similar to cher but contemporary You are in good hand with Angie Cheers

Hi shuangxi, that's great to hear. Yes that is the lady Irene Ho. If she said ok then it should be fine. Advice is to plan & finalised your final drawing/design early. Allow some time for buffer in case you are moving out from another house. Make sure your contractor has lots of experience in the type timber flooring you are laying. Are you laying over any existing floor? All the best in your reno and i'm sure & have confidence that it will turn out very nice Cheers

Edgeline Planners
lifestyle replied to lifestyle's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Hi impeller, We used them last year (see Edgeline Planner ) and no issue with contracts. What exactly you are refering to? I believe another forumer is currently engaging the renovation work with Edgeline Planner in the t-Blog. They are very professional and easy going. Not the cheapest in town but great design, carpentry & tiling workmanship. PM me if you need more info.. -

Hey cher, your reno is looking very nice now. Very modern & spacious feeling. -
Hi kongming, Thanks for dropping by. I find it more fuller sound than the 2005.2 versions but have not compared against the newer 3005SE. Reason i purchased the 5005.2 was to complement our reno design. I would get the new B&W speakers (which was not release yet at the time) over the 5005.2 if given a choice. Good luck.

Nice big & rectangle shape place you have. All the best in your reno and ID hunting.

Hi impella, I have PMed you too Summary: - She is very easy going, professional and great designer. - Workmanship generally ranged from excellent to very good and no major issues in our reno. Sure have some small issues along the way but if you voiced out early it should be rectify quickly. - As for your comments on the other forum, you must know both side of story so difficult to judge just based on one sided comment. No issue with us. If you not sure then have an option to include or exclude the items later. - They are very professional and will follow the agreed schedule timeline chart and expect no major delay if no major changes along the way. We had some minor delay as it was due to design changes and holidays. We gave plenty of time for the completion date. Advice: There is no such thing as free lunch or freebies. You get what you paid for so please do oversee and communicate clearly. Read the contract carefully again & again and understand all details. Plan ahead and factor in the unexpected. Mutual understanding and friendship does goes a long way in any reno and the final results. Good luck and happy reno

Hi fances02, sorry for the late late reply . I bought the storeroom racks from Giant in IMM shopping centre. Thanks for stopping by my T-Blog. Cleared mailbox. Cheers

Appologised to all that try to PM me as my mailbox was full as i went long long holiday from RTForum. I have replied those who sent email to me. Trust everyone are doing well...and busy like myself these days.

Hi ranger79, good to see things are starting to moving along. The corner arches agree must go. The colours are more on Comtemporay and yup i also prefer a bit more exciting colors when we first intro to Comtemporay colours. The bedroom colour looks like ours too.

Agree with BunBun. I tried a few interior design softwares and it's not really worth the time. It takes a lot of learning curve to understand the software and very time consuming. Best is to have you ideas in paper or in sketches and let the designer come up with the designs/drawings and you keep amending the designs until it suite you.

No problem. Anyway, my electrician does not do false ceiling and prefer bigger job than 1 room which could be expensive. Good luck. You could try KEC Sound System at Adelphi (#01-24-25) as they have good customer services and very popular.
-
Thanks Cyn & riyen. Not recommending the electrician based on our experiences and would suggest better if you go along with the ID electrician (rather than external one man type)...less headaches in the long run. As for the home theatre wiring, might be best to check with those people selling you the home theatre systems (or can check out many shps in Adelphi complex) as they usually do many of those kind of jobs and possibly better knowledge. With regards to the switches trucking recess with the wall...it is actually recess on the hard compound plasterboard (which is done by the ID workers and the elctrician will drill/cut some small holes to pull the wires) which is covering the existing wall as seen in the speaker picture. I missed understood and was refering to the power switches . Cheers

Congrat....nice place. We also was interested in project (Carlose) a few years ago but all the nice facing unit was taken. We also took around 2-3mths to source our ID. That shows you know what you want and getting the best that meets your requirements. It will be worth it in the end All the best for your lovely place.
-
Hi Ranger79, Congrat on your nice big place....similar to our size as well. Yes, reno and material prices have gone up (20-30% ) alot lately since we started our reno. Just want to advice some comments (hope not too late). Regarding overlaying of tiles (especially for the toilets)....please ask yr ID for opinions an have it check throughly the floor tiles to see if can pose any issues in the long run..but from the pics it looks quite good and guess must have done not too long ago. As your place is 20yrs old and not sure how old are those foundations. Our was really old and falling apart so need to hack it all. Also the electrical/lighting costs you need to budget a lot in case you really need to redo the whole wiring of the place but that depends on existing conditions. Nice idea on the open concept kitchen. We also planned initailly but decided to have the kitchen enclosed due to lots of cooking and avoid cooking smells in the living room. Good idea (to save cost) to source furnitures from outside (eg IKEA) but please note that it will not withstand for a long time (eg 5-10yrs) due to the materials they used. Have you considered those modular wardrobe for simple & neat design? Modern contemporary theme is nice

Hi bro, sorry being really busy lately. Added more pics (incl HTS) for you. Small speakers and bass only as not Audiophiles like you bro (who seek to listen to music at a level of quality as close to the original performance as possible) How about the Marantz's new AV8003 and MM8003 for your next pro/amp
