  3. I paid a visit to this shop recently. Its located near Tiong Bahru market and has a small but very nice showroom. Believe most of the tiles on sale are European tiles. Had some questions but too bad the sales assistant was too busy.

  13. For Turbo and Techo hob/hood packages, where can I get a deal better than the current promotional prices?
  14. I am a first-time buyer and completed my resale transaction last month without using an agent. I had an agent but she was not very helpful at all. I sought out the advertisements in the Straits Times Classifieds and managed to find a unit which I liked. The seller's agent allowed me to view the flat and I found him to be an honest and sincere agent. I made an offer which was eventually accepted by the seller. The seller's agent offered me the services of another agent (a friend of his) to handle my paperwork but I politely declined as I had decided to DIY. The seller's agent remain courteous thoughout the entire process. Must say I was very lucky to meet such a professional agent. It was actually the bank which gave me a headache. The bank officer was not very knowledgeable even though as she was an Assistant Manager. Even though I had 14 days to obtain a Letter of Offer from the bank, I found the schedule rather tight. It took the bank officer a few days to inform me that as I am a first time buyer, the bank require a 'screen shot' from HDB stating that I do not have any outstanding bank loans with HDB. I was also advised by the bank officer that I was not allowed to utiise all of my CPF funds in my ordinary account which was not true! I told off the bank officer after I double checked with CPF. Basically you need to leave some funds in the ordinary account for deduction of the fees (legal etc). Please remember to go though the resale checklist. A scanned copy of the completed Resale Checklist must be submitted together with the Resale Application. The original copy of the Resale Checklist must be submitted to HDB at the First Resale Appointment for verification. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10321p.nsf/w/BuyResaleFlatChecklists?OpenDocument
  15. Suggest you visit the Grohe distributor Interior Affairs (walking distance from Tai Seng MRT) for this promotion. The promotion is also available at selected Grohe dealers eg Viva Nueva, Sani Quo. Interior Affairs has a very nice showroom by the way. http://interior-affairs.com.sg/whats-on/promotions/grohe-special-0511.html
  16. What do you do with the stainless steel ventilation hole? I find it really ugly. Is it allowed to cover up the hole?
  17. I had white wall tiles for my kitchen (30x60) and 2 toilets (30x45). The wall tiles for my kitchen was tiled horizontally while the toilet wall tiles was done vertically. I thought it was weird and inconsistent but it was too late to stop the tiler.
  18. I compared the entry level products from both brands (Hansgrohe Focus vs Grohe Bau Contemporary) and found out that the costs of the Hansgrohe products are lower. But I was surprised that the rainshower system from Hansgrohe is more expensive than Grohe. The retail price of Hansgrohe Croma 100 Showerpipe #27154000 cost S$969 compared to Grohe #27389 which cost S$449 (all prices before store discounts).
  19. Just wondering do you specifically request that the wall tiles in your kitchen or toilet to be tiled horizontally or vertically (ie assuming the tiles are in plain color)? Was informed by the ID that the 'standard' practice is vertical for toilet wall tiles. Is this true or is the tiler just being lazy and find it too tedious to tile horizontally.
  20. Has anyone engaged the services of Golden Leaf Curtain Centre in Whampoa before? It was recently featured in the Straits Times. www.goldenleaf.com.sg
  21. I have also been searching for a mattress recently. These brands of mattresses are also available at Courts, Harvey Norman and leading department stores as you may be aware. To add to the confusion, different boutiques carry different models eg the Sealy Sleep Palace at Tanglin carry the 'Hotel' collection which is not available at other Sealy boutiques. Dun forget the fourth "S" - Slumberland which I find is under-rated in this forum. I like the 'Tempsmart' series which has been discontinued recently and 'Tempsmart II' is now available. Do look out for the Slumberland weekend warehouse sales at Jalan Peminpin which are often advertised in the Strait Times. If you're looking for a King size bed, I would suggest you visit the Robinsons Bedshop at Centrepoint. You could 'upsize' selected Queen size models to King size for $1, plus 5% rebate if you're a Robinson cardmember.
  22. Bro, thanks for your reply. I read past views on the A11YS and the opinions on the wind power are divided. Can you PM me your selling price please? Thanks. Interestingly the Malaysian equivalent model of MS11SU (K11Z1-UD) is available in champagne gold color. http://www.kdk.com.my/product/?p=614
  23. I was quoted $750 for the plywood and $1850 for the mirror/white glass for the length of 4000mm. I was informed by the ID that tinted glass is more expensive.
  24. Hi, I would appreciate very much if the users of the KDK MS11SU ceiling fan could provide your feedback. I was told there's not much wind power. Many thanks. http://www.kdk.com.sg/product/cf/m11su.html
