  1. Agreed! for me, only firm mattress can let me wake up without the backache. Anyway, for Courts, they usually only display the Detense Series which would refer to the Otto Detense i mentioned. You may also try the MONT Detense, which i feel is firmer. Hope it helps!
  2. Hmm, judging from the listed experiences, i recommend asking where are they going to manufacture the product. There are many factories in Singapore and Malaysia that deal in furniture (which i deal with often) that are far more reliable. On a side note, thanks for sharing the experience! I was considering sourcing from China factory as well for quite some time. Shall make it a note to be more prudent.
  3. If you are not in a hurry, you can consider bto.sg - a website that specific deal in furniture group buying. They are launching soon, i believe.
  4. I'm guessing buying all the furniture required in the house at one store.
  5. Speaking of secondhand store, you could try http://www.mrgunii.com/. Do note that i have no personal experiences with them though, so don't consider that i'm vouching for them.
  6. Hi Mortred, Are you talking about Otto Detense? It comes in Pocket Spring with Natural Latex Interior. I tried it before, it felt really comfortable! I like how the latex feel firmer than memory foam (while my partner feels the other way round). =X
  7. You may consider looking for spring based sofas; many manufacturer offer guarantees/warranties for the springs not to sink. the time period for the warranty are usually at least 2-3 years. From my experience, it generally last 5 years and above (with regards to sink of the cushion).
  8. Seahorse quality is undeniable, their forte is in extra firm mattress though. (thats what i think). It is even harder then Princebed Pegasus (ultra support high density foam) mattress. If you are intending to buy Seahorse mattress, it is best to buy from Seahorse own boutiques - better prices. For value for money mattress - you can also consider Princebed and Max Coil; two uprising brands in the market. Just my opinion though! (good for comparison). Most mattress can last at least ten years, as long as you don't buy those cheap foam. Have a nice shopping experience!
  9. Very true! I heard of many "amazing" stories from delivery personnel; such as using the opening (HDB users should be quite familiar with it) of the stairwell to move the furniture from stairs to stairs. Imagine juggling the moving of the sofa and simply hanging onto it as part of it "hangs" out of the HDB block. For those who are curious, the sofa was managed to be delivered without issues. Delivery personnel really don't have it easy.
  10. No prob! Hope you get a steal of purchase! Cheers!
  11. Hi Jason, From my understanding, PU leather, while not the best or top grade syn leather, usually possess an acceptable to good quality. Many manufacturers (based on my knowledge) uses PU leathers for sofa with syn leather. From what i gathered, PU leather are usually superior to PVC, and they are commonly regarded as a "step-up" from PVC, as PVC is commonly regarded as the lowest quality. Most likely when the salesperson refers to other type of syn leather, he or she is referring to PVC. Lastly, do take note of what the sales personnel tells you, as it is pretty common to receive sales talk that are "partially" true, if you know what i mean. It is best to feel the quality and judge for yourself or seek advice from family, relative or friends with relevant experience. I encourage personal trial and judgement!

To make myself useful, here are my contributions to mattress hunters; my own personal mattress insight. Everyone is welcome to comment or further add to it. Mattress insights: We sleep roughly about 1/3 of our life, so the quality of our sleep goes a long way in shaping our everyday lives. A good night's sleep makes the difference between being able to give you all in what you do and simply trying to stay focused. Firmness, in other words, comfort level should be your top concern. I encourage all buyers to visit a physical store to try our the firmness level that best suit yourself (and maybe your partner); there is no such thing as a firmness level that is most suitable for everyone. A good gauge for suitable firmness to consider before trying or buying is following the Sweet Dream "Dream Series"; firmness level according to BMI. *note* use this as a gauge, there is no hard and fast rule about suitable firmness BMI Mattress Firmness <18 Soft 18 - 19.9 Medium Soft 20 - 24.9 Medium Firm 25 - 29.9 Firm >30 Extra Firm My own personal opinion about foam mattress is that quality foam mattress (not the thin, economical foam) are definitely comparable to innerspring mattress. As a avid basketball player (I play as Center, for those who like basketball as well), i frequently suffer backache. My backaches disappeared with the switch of mattress to a ultra support (ultra firm too) foam mattress. I'm maybe a bit bias, but i simply can't help it. For more inquiries, contact me through email or comments on this forum. I have went through various mattress courses from different manufacturers, so feel free to contact me about sleep or mattress issues! I will definitely exploit every channel to answer your inquiry.
