Hi guys, anyone still got quotation to share with me? Pls pm me. Thanks.
-
Wow, the muffins looks very tempting!!
-
Quite true, i will insist on 3 panes in tat case.
-
Nice window grills. Btw, did u ask for 3 window panes for the service yard or ID suggest one?
-
Wow, congrats. Really a very nice n clean cozy place that u have it renovated into.
-
Thanks cutiecat for ur kind advice, will be waiting for the quotes from u.
-
Yup, agree with u on the cleaning up the place after cooking, footprint. But then think back, my service yard is facing along the corridor towards the lift landing, so might not get much wind from then as well. The most, will have to minimise the windows opening when cooking then.
-
Thanks again, boyblunder. Guess that i will have to scount through the forum and web for more tip-saving on certain items.
-
Thanks footprint, finally see u post in my t-blog Been running through the quotation with my wife n filter out those items that might not want to do so that reno can be done within my budget. I think will only need haulage (sand) for the living area and small part of kitchen as intends to hack part of the wall like urs but will be a full one and open concept. Do u think that the ID will reveal every details such as materials and measurement before sign on the dotted line?
-
Thks boyblunder for your comment , will check with the ID again but what do you think about this quotation in general? Will it be cheaper if i outsource the window grilles and window glasses and 3 bedroom doors? Btw, Electrical wiring has not included and will be in separate order.

K, jaskel. How and when can we do that as I am working shift, so will need to check my work schedule lor. Btw, will only start doing renovation after 7th Month Festival wor.
-
Thanks jaskel for additional info, I will check with the ID later as will be meeting her later. Btw, how do we prevent the gaps in between the laminate boards? Workmanship and material quality? Thought of asking u for a quotation as u r v knowledgable in this line and has received recommendation from some of the posts here. R u able to give me a quotation of my new 4rm BTO flat?
-
Hi cutiecat, how's ur reno progress, any update?
-
Yup, agreed with u. Think I will need to read thru some of your T-blogs again to refresh my memory in case I go n meet some more IDs. So far got calls from ** n KLL wanting to fix appointment with me but wife still sick, so let's see how lor.
-
Thanks Seth, I also just realised after reading through footprint's T-Blog of 15 pages again on the haulage fees that she has mentioned previously. This definitely makes me strike off this renovation company from my list.
-
Hi, any update on ur reno and feedbacdk on the contractor u engaged?
-
Just came back from another Renovation Company: Tay Heng Long at Yishun 925. Was handled by Mr. Ivan Teo who was friendly and able to advise on certain items not to be done as it would cost more for new flat as need to engage PE to approve for hacking of kitchen wall which would cost over $1k. However, was still quite puzzled when he told me that i could save this amount of money after 3 years cuz no need any PE inspection and approval by then, is it true? Overall, I find that the quotation given by him is within my budget but may have to scrap away some additional things that I want to add on into the renovation, eg. Bathtub feature for my wife in the MBR, hacking away part off the kitchen wall to make counter-top. I would like to check whether the following quotation for the add-on items are priced fairly or not. To supply and construct feature walls c/w TV console **** area (7 ft) - $2660 To supply and construct Sliding wardrobe c/w feature wall at MBR (15 ft) - $4200 To supply and construct laminate raised platform at MBR - $1600 To supply and construct settie cabinet at MBR (8 ft) - $1200 Addition cushion for settie cabinet - $500 Haulage fees for sand and debris - $1200 to $1300 Thanks in advance for all advice and comments.

Had just checked from HDb website and already got the appointment date to collect our housekeys in June. Now would like to get all the advise and the procedures of house opening from fellow forumers.
-
Thanks sethho, Perhaps we will check with them again on their registration name/no. on this saturday.
-
Thanks Kobelala, congrats to your reno and hope that your reno is going smoothly all the way.
-
First of all, thanks for your comment and suggestion, nimm. Actually my wife and I have decided to have a warm, bright and cosy theme for our new flat as we want to have a close family-bonding feeling with our 2 young daughters and my mother. As for the budget wise, we already have it in mind.
-
Attached is the floorplan of our new flat.

Hi all RT mates , I have been reading RT T-blogs for quite sometimes and decided to start my own T-Blog. Currently, looking for an ID is quite a headache issue as my wife and me are still not sure what to enquire. We have not collected our housekeys yet but most probably will collect in the month of June, somewhere in 3rd week. Anyway, we have approached one Interior Design company, named Blackjack Interior Pte Ltd which we got to know through a pamphlet left on our new house maingate. I have just checked through the HDB website on the listing of registered renovation companies but could not find this company listed there. This company has just launched an opening of new shop at Blk 418 Yishun. We have approached one of the sales manager, Miss Sharon Zhang and she has attended to us attentively yesterday. We have provided our floor plan to her and also told her what we want to do with our new flat (some ideas were copied from some of the fellow RT forumers) The only thing that bother us now is whether is it safe to get them to do our renovation as the company is not listed in the registered list by HDB? We have a few IDs and contractors in mind but have not approached them as currently my wife is sick and do not want her to move around to find them 1st. Here are the list of IDs/contractors that we have gathered after reading through some of the T-blogs: 1) Rick Fok, Ideal House 2) Merane/Jessie, Inside Living 3) Andrew, Designer Guy 4) Alan Tan, Aian Furniture & Renovation Contractor Comments and suggestions are welcome!!

Hi jaskel, i would like to check with you on whether you know floorich laminate? I understand that laminate flooring will be damaged by water but was told by one ID that a strong and tougher laminate flooring will be used and also a material like blocking the water from seeping into the laminate flooring which i forgot what's it called, will help to prevent such damage to laminate flooring. Is it true? Btw, i was shown with that material and it was very thick which the ID told me that normally a plastic sheet will be placed in between the laminate flooring and the cement floor.
