just an update on my experience with them, they came to deliver my TV console and dining table last Saturday and they were quite prompt on time, said will deliver between 12-2pm and they arrived by 11:50am. both items arrived in good cosmetic and working condition thou there are some areas like paint un-eveness but are all either below the table or at the back of the console which ish hidden away from view so still not that bad. overall quite satisfied with them on the delivery. however one thing i've noticed was that most of the forumer with issues here are about their Sofas which i've did not purchase from them, my items were sent by another company/factory and not Species Furnishing themselves. so i cant really guarantee if you would receive the same experience if the delivery was made by Species themselves.

bro, so in the end how did your electrician solved the issue? my tv was just delivered over the weekend but waiting for them to wall mount later this week before connecting it to the box for free-to-air channels. thanks in adv!
-
thanks bro, lights i think just nice, not too bright and glaring and not too little, ID initally suggested more cove lights and downlights for the house but we think its an overkill. well, over the weekend, i intended to get my stuffs at SiteX but ended up buying from Harvey Norman Suntec and Gain City Marina Sq for my TV and Fridge respectively. the prices and perks they offered were way much better then those neighbourhood store you listed. in fact i was quite surprised that i could "bargain" slightly for my fridge with the GC sales guy. i actually do suggest you check with Gain City at Marina Sq, give them a call and quote the model and brand see if their rates are better then Best or HN. my TV, Sofa, Dining Table and Living Room Console also arrived over the past weekend but havent got the time to take any pics yet thou.

wow, care to elaborate what happened and their course of action? they are delivering my items tomorrow afternoon, i just pray and hope everything turns out fine and the furniture arrives swee swee... if not, am going straight to CASE liaoz.
-
oic, anyway good to choose a good date to move in since you have consulted the FSM. nice RGB lights, can i check where you got them from? im looking for remote controlled changing lights as well but in a bulb form using E27 socket for a DIY project of mine.
-
wow if can get at $990 is really a good deal considering having saved $300 from the next highest price. everjoint's rates are quite ok, but heard they push customers towards certain brands over others which could be due to higher margins from those manufacturers. will drop by Parisilk this coming weekend to find out their pricing for TV and Fridge before heading down to Sitex. anyway if you got nuthing to get, den dun need go down to squeeze with others. ;)

super envy of ya large toilet and spacious home bro! everything sweee sweee too, when do you intend to move in?
-
nope its a 7kg washer only, we got it as it was on sale and fits our budget, not sure if we are intending to get a separate dryer at this point in time. from my mum's experience, try not to get a 2-in-1 washer cum dryer as usually it's lifespans is rather shorter as it wears down faster due to more mechanical parts.
-
yes, i read about it in HWZ where the vendors sort of "misled" consumers into thinking they are getting a good deal if the TV is the latest most current model but actually its an older range and they are clearing stocks. i think best would be to identify and narrow down the models im interested in and get various pricing/quotes from places like Everjoint, Parisilk and other neighbourhood shops alike to see whats the best price point and affordability, Sitex might not be cheap at all from what i've gathered, at most would be additional freebies thrown in. nonetheless, thanks for ya advice, you going down this coming weekend too?

we have bought this Samsung Front Load washer yesterday at Courts. now waiting for Sitex this weekend to hoot a TV and maybe HT system.

Latest Update: the general cleaning was done for the house, however we were quite unhappy as the wooden skirting had suffered water damage in the dinning area when they did their chemical wash of the area. told my ID to have them replaced with new ones as the damage done is defintely not acceptable. the flooring people as well as carpentry will be coming down to rectify all the issues that i've highlighted since the general cleaning was done. on a good note, all bedroom doors have been replaced as the old doors are really CMI, initally dint want to change them to save some $$$, however after seeing its condition internally, have decided to get news ones instead.
-
actually was quite worried the kitchen would look too woody but it turned out nice with the black glass backsplash as its more of loft theme as there are mainly wood, white and grey tones, however the carpentry design ish rather contemporary, so i guess you could call this a fusion of both. the mattress we bought comes with a divan base and its combined height is roughly 25" thus the side tables are high too. will take a pic once all the furnitures are delivered. the mirror is very worth the $$$ for its size and finishing, its hung using 2 screws mounted to the wall similar to hanging a picture as the brackets are on both sides of the frame. you will need to get your contractor to drill and supply the mounting screws as the package from ikea doesn't come with it. thanks matrox, love your choice of tiles too! esp the toliet ones, i would say your theme would be more towards contemporary? sorry to hear about the reno issues which you posted earlier today and hope everything turns out fine. btw pls do send me a PM on the details for the Focal 5.1 too

no worries Sis, your reno progress looks good and can see that you've done lotsa shopping too! the price for ya reno works looks reasonable, just make sure they don't cut corners can liaoz. anyway from what i know, you can include youtube clips in your post by just copying and pasting the entire URL in here and it would be automatically converted to show the clip once its been posted up, not sure for other types of media. -
some pics of my MBR toliet which i took earlier today... initally, ID wanted to do up a vanity cabinet and countertop sink for this toliet, but due to the toilet's miniature size, it would be very cramped when combined with the WC we gotten first, so no choice had to scrap it entirely and look for a smaller size wash basin and glad we made the move to do without it.

based on what i've read and research from rt, i choose E27 over PLC: 1. E27 does not require an additional ballast while PLC requires one. 2. E27 supposedly comsumes lesser energy if wattage is equal to a bulb for PLC type as the PLC has additional Ballast 3. The Ballast of a PLC generates heat on top of the bulb and might eventually have a ssssssss sound emitting from it due to wear and tear but rarely requires changing. 4. E27 is flicker-free while PLC will flick before lighting up. the only major con in choosing E27 would be the bulbs being more expensive then PLC types. @centrino2, nice white sofa dude, i think the length just nice, fills up the stretch along the wall. cant wait to see the recliner! -
i saw them at a shop along aljunied road towards payalebar MRT, on the right side selling alot of electrical stuffs and trunkings, did enquire on the cost but not cant recall now. there are 2 other popular shops you could try to get those kinda switches T&J Electric http://www.tjelec.com.sg/products_me.php?Parent_ID=110 and maybe choo chiang too as alot of forumers patronises both places to buy their switches and rates are quite reasonable. http://ccm.sg/www/LocateUs.htm do give them a call before going down to chk on stk avail goodluck with ya reno!

bought this huge mirror from ikea earlier this week as well for decorating the dining area... if you do notice, the window grilles here in the pict has additional horizontal bars on the bottom right for security purposes as its located next to our main door... *all the corrugated boards have also been removed which now shows off the laminates we chose for the living and bedrooms... next up on the list would be the chemical/general cleaning phase.
-
painter has also finished the various rooms with another round of coats and the window grilles for my home are up as well... BD1 BD2 MBR next will be re-doing the bottom window panels with those opaque tints for some privacy purposes and also installing roller blinds for them...

here are the pics for the kitchen back-splash as promised... *appologies for the dust, the guys from the solid sufrace manufacturer came to polish the countertop.
