Hi,
My basin tap suddenly just decided not to switch off not matter how you turn it , the same thing sometimes happen to the shower knobs too. So now no choice but to get them fixed. But when I went to the shop that I bought them from during the reno, they said those taps can't be repaired and should just buy new ones. I remember in the old days its always just the O-ring but for whatever reason, the taps I have don;t have them anymore.
So the question is, what is it that I should look for to have a more lasting fixture? I saw a thread saying SS better than chrome, ok, that's good advice. But what about the mechanism? what types are there? I see taps selling for as low as $20 (cold water only) to over a hundred, what makes them different? Is it just the brand or the technlogy behind it?
Advise welcome
