  1. Went to www.comfort.biz to take a look, but nothing related to IR found???
  2. It has nothing to do with the bulb It works via a special IC chip to be installed in your light circuits. The remote controller activates/deactivates the IC chip which allows/cut off current flow to the lights. You can say that this is a fairly cheap solution to get remote lightings in your house. You can retrofit to whatever you have now, but think would be better to ask the electrician to do it for you, plus also how you wanna group your lights to be controlled
  3. If I am not wrong, it doesnt work if you buy more than one remote control, unless you have the intention to sell the remotes or you want the extra remotes as a backup in case you lose them If you are hoping to get more than one remote control so you can increase the number of lights you can control in your house, I think it will be a waste of money, coz it wont work as you would like it to be
  4. Sorry bro, din see what you posted here until now. I was trying to get remote access to work through port forwarding, but failed coz I am using starhub and they are blocking port 80. Port 80 is one of the ports required by redeye for remote access. As for VPN, i think I will have to give that up too since it only works with a static internet ip address. I am not very into networking thingy. Sianzzzz. For your question on macros, yes - redeye is flexible, you can program start-up macros or one-button macros. So with a single button push, your setup top box will be on, your TV will be on, and your fav TV channel selected.
  5. Very beautiful house! It's the kind of dream house that I long to have... Hotel-like toilets - nice!
  6. Nice pics! Looking forward to see your completed house!
  7. You should have seen what was happening at Isetan sales instead. I went to both Tangs and Isetan sales - (was at Isetan queuing to get in at 8am, and a 200m long queue has formed, when it opened at 830am, the queue was at least 600m)
  8. Yes, its possible to use wan, either by setting up a vpn connection or through port forwarding features.
  9. Thats quite a good price you got. They quoted me 138 (before 10% disc and 7% GST). Din matter if I wanted 1gang or 2gang switch. They charged me on a per gang basis. Think your 2gang price is irresistable. Haha If they quoted me your 2gang switch price, I would have bought from them!
  10. I should have asked ihabitat about the discrete codes before committing to ai-m.net's switches! Did you ask how much it costs per gang? As for the IR range, the redeye works reasonably well. Some obstacles here and there is not a problem. Even at places which you would think is a blind spot, the IR signal could actually reach the device/switch. And sensitivity of the switch does matter. Danny told me that his switches are super sensitive to IR signals, therefore even if the switch received a weak signal, it will still work. I am not sure whether there are such things as 'sensitivity' of the reception of the switches. I can't verify it but my switches work well with the redeye currently.
  11. Congratulations on the new addition to your family!
  12. Saw my name in the guest list. Thanks for the invitation! Me and my fiancée are animal lovers - we love cats and dogs. In fact she has a number of dogs now (we treat them like our kids), which we will bringing over to our new house once it is renovated. Will be looking forward to meeting your beloved pets! Din really get to talk to you at May's house last Saturday, but can see that you are quite humourous - yes I overheard your joke on how the taxi driver tries to link you to foreign roots. Haha
  13. I suggest you take caution in land banking investments.
  14. Haha. I think you have hit the nail with your guess. Mae's position in the photo must have hindered your judgement in who that mystery gentlemen is... Haha (big clue)
  15. Paiseh Mae jie, During the photo taking session at friends78's house, I was talking with my reno project manager over the phone to iron out some problems. The way I rejected you might be quite impolite as I was very unhappy with the problems faced. So sorry about it! But I saw my face appearing in Csingeu's blog that you helped to update! I thought I saw a monster when I saw myself in the pics!
  16. Hi Bro, Thanks for letting me and my partner have a look at your house. It was especially bright and airy! Love the unblocked view from the MBR and balcony. Hope your Reno shun shun all the way!
  17. Hi Ugene, Nice meeting you yesterday, though we din really talk much. One of the best well-known universal remotes will be the Logitech Harmony series. Haven't used them before, but most of the reviews I have seen for them are good ones. You can consider the Harmony One or the Harmony 900 (these 2 are the higher end ones, but u definitely need it if you have quite a number of devices that you plan to use with the remote. The Logitech remotes come with a large database of IR codes that you can download into your remote, and if those you want are not available, you can still 'learn' the commands with the remote. Do note that the Harmony 900 is a newer model than Harmony One, but the former lacks the versility to program macros into the remote. (programming and sending a string of IR commands with a button press) If I were you, I will choose the Harmony One over the Harmony 900. Problem is Harmony One has been discontinued in SG, but you can still buy it from Amazon. Anyway, buying the remotes from Amazon is way much cheaper, only drawback is the lack of warranty. If you do own a ipad iphone, or ipod touch and would like to use it as a universal remote, you can check out this website http://thinkflood.com Right now i am using their redeye system (redeye, not the redeye pro) to control the IR devices in my home, including my lights. For me, I think the redeye system is very versatile and I think its my solution to a cheap home automation system. For now, I am happy with it. Best part is, the team over at thinkflood is constantly improving the software and upgrading its features. If you are interested in getting a professional to set up a full home automation system for you, you can refer to http://www.jdolabs.com/ihabitat Of course it will cost a lot more if you opt for this, but it will allow you to create a truely smart home.
  18. Thanks for hosting us at your house! It was an eye opener! I gonna try the alkaline water next time!
  19. Thanks for inviting us over! It was fun and enjoyable. Your home is nice la, and dun look cheena. Rather it blends subtle Chinese elements into the your modern design, and it's very well done. Most importantly, have the kind of 'homely' feeling.
