  1. Respected the contractor initially when I read how he defended himself. Only to find him trying to wriggle out of his responsibilities, finding excuses not to do rectification works. Come on la, I believe these kind of rectification works not really hard to do, just whether he wanna do it or not. Mr. contracter, dun talk big and promise will do rectification works, then drag on 2 months. Thereafter find excuses say Vampire defame you and because of this, you decided not to do rectification works for him. I also know how to say. Action speaks louder than words. If you really intended to do it for him, you wont drag till 2 months and end up find fault with Vampire and say you wont do rectifications for him because of this. And I guess soon enough the forum mods will close and delete this thread again...
  2. LOL. Bro Boyblunder places emphasis on tools that prepares the 'things that goes into our bodies", while sis Adi is more interested in tools that receives the "things that comes out from our bodies"
  3. I can visualise that your house might well turn out to be one of the best on the t-blog soon. Could see why your ID wanted to feature your house in magazines and use it as an advertising tool. Great taste for your furniture and furnishings. What I have always wanted, but shall remain a dream to me due to budget constraints And thanks very much for the extensive shopping guides in your blogs. They come in real handy for swakoos like me.. haha Anyway, good luck for your reno!
  4. Hi Seng, Can give a quotation for removal of existing floor laminates, then applying cement screed and a waterproof layer (industrial look) for a room of size 4.8m by 3.3m? Please provide me your contacts too. Thanks
  5. The trendnet camera can do mounting, they also provide a mounting board for you to fit the camera on. Dun have onboard SD card slot, but got built-in USB port for recording to a connected harddrive or thumbdrive. Configuration-wise can be quite tedious for those not familiar with port-fowarding and making use of dyndns to solve the dynamic ip address issue. As for review on the camera, I did not own other ipcams before so cant really do a comparision. But features-wise, it does have all the things I need. Good points: 1) Fast start/boot up 2) Connection and control using iphone good 3) Connection and control using web browser good 4) Night vision works well 5) Wide angles for panning/tilting (one of the widest angles I seen) 6) Cheaper than other brands 7) 2-way audio via connected speakers to the camera (good as communication tool) Bad points: 1) Picture quality can be quite grainy on the web browser, but good on iphone (most probably its due to the VGA resolution of the camera, and most IP cams resolution is only VGA, so cant really fault it) 2) Heats up while in operation, but no problem if turning it on without turning off for an entire week (not sure if other IPcams do heat up also)
  6. You can place it inside or outside of your house. Just need it to be within your wireless network range and of course power supply. Good if you wanna do monitoring of your house and activities in it. E.g. got a maid to look after your baby but afraid your maid misbehave. On your phone or iphone or your pc at work, you can just log onto the camera and view what is happening inside/outside your house. Good thing is you can control the camera for panning and scanning, so effectively can cover big areas and angles of your house.
  7. Hi Bro, I got this camera below during the last IT fair http://www.trendnet.com/langen/products/proddetail.asp?prod=190_TV-IP422WN&cat=148 Basically same function as the ipcam you have mentioned above with almost all same features, but not plug and play la. Also have special iphone app to control and view the cam. Plus 2-way audio also. Bought it at around $230 I think. CISCO have these ipcams too and their prices also quite reasonable considering they are well-known for their networking products. For your reference
  8. First viewing when we arrived at the door, agent wasn't able to get in because he doesn't have the keys. There was people inside but nobody wanted to come open the door. Waited for like 10-15min before door was opened. Owner was not in sight but a group of teenagers (both genders), some of the guys half-naked with tattoos here and there were present. A rowdy crowd. The feeling wasn't very good although we liked the house. Seller agent told us those were owner's relatives. Nevertheless, we arranged for a second viewing in hope to confirm the unit as we liked it very much and price was reasonable. Bought my future FIL and MIL along. This time owner was around, with her 2 daughters. Owner wasn't very frenly. FIL says he doesn't like the unit. So taking into account FIL's comments, and we were afraid there was a problem with the family (which was they were selling the house) which we think the seller agent wasn't upfront or truthful with us. Coupled with the fact that we had also eyed another unit nearer to Boon Lay MRT, we decided to give the unit up.
  9. Viewed this unit before when I was doing my house hunting. Almost bought this unit at that time. Haha Nice windy place with excellent view from the living room. COV was reasonable for a top floor unit.
  10. Yeeks! I graduated in 1993! Ms Haslindah was my form teacher from Pri 3 to 6. Could we be classmates? Or you are one batch younger? Ms Haslinda was a stern but good teacher. I was a scout then, and she was also the teacher-in-charge. Sad thing was, she passed away some years ago.
  11. Haha... "Four Seas" cinema. Used to be a place I loved most when I was young, coz McDonald's was at the ground floor!
  12. Oh hi! I graduated in the early 90s! My sis graduated in the 80s though. "Boon Lay Garden Pri School... Our very own knowledge pool We dive in, young and playful and swim out mature and faithful..." Haha. Nostalgic! They changed the song when I was in Pri 6. Oops sorry, gone off topic. This should be a reno blog! Paiseh!
  13. I have been staying in Boon Lay all my life and still is! Was a former student at Boon Lay Garden Pri School too! During my time, the school was at where River Valley High is now. Din know there were so many people who onced lived in Boon Lay. haha
  14. My house renovation completed... Left curtains, which will be installed this Saturday. Waiting to move in officially, but FSM says these 2 lunar months not good to do. Official move in date gonna be early September! So long! Think everyone in the group has their own reno blog except for me. Too lazy to write or update. Haha Anyway, what topic u wanna switch to? What skincare product you use to look so young? Your >10 year long marriage with your beloved hubby? or Your userid and your age?
  15. Wah bro, congrats on moving in! Nice cozy place. The sofa's just the right size I think. Do take good care of your health!
  16. Your house is definitely one of the best on the t-blogs... at least for my taste!
  17. Can we switch back to talk about toilets and sai? I think I am more knowledgeable with regard to sai!

  21. Hi Bro, Long time no see. I am using manual retractable projector screen. I cant mount on the ceiling coz its a false ceiling, can't take the weight and constant pulling down of the screen. Therefore have to mount it on the walls instead, but need an extender bracket. Dunno where to get them and I am so busy lately to really go source for it. Anyway, how's your home automation coming along?
  22. I am new to projectors but I have bought one recently. The wall where I intend to mount my projector screen has a feature wall protruding out, so I need an extender bracket/ L bracket where I can mount my projector screen on. I can't mount on my ceiling because its a false ceiling, can't take the weight. Any bro or sis where I can get them? Preferably cheap ones will do. Thanks in advance
  23. Hi Ely! Nice pictures you have there! One of the best homes I have seen. Hope to see you post more pics soon!
